Hey , sounds like you are on the way! Great going on such

intense workouts.

It's ok to go to muscle failure so long as you don't sacrifice form

to do it. If your trainer is nearby maybe they can spot you while you

try to lift a few more reps. This will prevent accident and ensure

proper form. Keep up the good work!

Good for you for getting rid of all those Slimfast and nutrigrain bars!

Just stick to the program and you will do fine!

hello!

Justed wanted to say a couple things. #1. Thanks everyone for your

awesome posts. I really like reading about the success everyone has

because I know I tend to doubt that I will ever lose weight. #2.

Whoever wrote about doing there cardio 3.5, 3.6 etc. that was

awesome. My mother and I did it the other day and really enjoyed

it. #3. I started with a personal trainer yesterday (he does BFL

with several people) and am so suprised I was able to walk today.

Tomorrow is UBW and am nervous. Since you are supposed to go to

muscle failure is there a too much as in the way I feel? Am hoping

to get some protein powder tomorrow and start making all the yummy

things you guys mention. Thanks again!

U.

p.s. I got rid of the slimfast and nutrigrain bars. I stick to the

myoplex bars for my night meal because they only have 3 grams of

carbs and I eat really late. i.e. it is 1:30 a.m. right now!

Woowoo!!!! That's great that you got rid of that stuff :) I'd answer your

question " Since you are supposed to go to

muscle failure is there a too much as in the way I feel? " but I think my

brain isn't quite with it since I don't understand :( You can't do too much

with muscle failure since, once you reach it, you can't actually do anything

else :)

Hello Jane,

Nice to hear from you. I live in Scotland but am staying overnight

with my son in Manchester as I deliver other children to

Universities..... Worcester tomorrow and Cambridge on Friday. A

round trip of over 1,000 miles for me. I find I get VERY tired so

will be taking things easy. I don't like to drive much now and have

to rest every hour or so which adds to the time taken for every trip.

When I get home I'll write to you more fully. My diagnosis was just

made recently and I'm waiting for surgery.

Conn's is rare......... depending on where you look for statistics it

affects one in 100,000 or one in a million or one in five million. I

suppose you just have to say it is rare rather than look for

statistics. Let us know who your endocrinologist is and how good (s)

he is.

Are you taking any medication? My surgery should have been last month

but was cancelled as my blood pressure was still too high and my body

chemistry also still very strange. Elaine and I both take

spironolactone but in different formulations.

As I said I'll write properly when I get home.

Hello Helen,

Do write once you settle down from your trip back. I'm

sorry to hear your BP is still high despite being on

spiro. Has the doc increased your dosage? I'm

currently still on 100 mg a day though my doc said I

could increase it if need be. Fortunately, my BP is

doing very well on the current dosage, averaging

120/80.

Oh, I didn't tell you, I started on a course of

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. I was hoping to augment

that with physiotherapy for my stroke rehab but I'm

likely to drop out of both depending on the diagnosis

for my current condition. My breathlessness and

dizziness make it impossible for me to do much

physically.

My 'simple' adrenal disorder has turned out to be very

complex and that's why I hadn't been posting much. I

don't want to mislead anyone with my symptoms until I

know what's causing what!

Hope your children are well-settled and the trip did

not tire you out too much. You didn't do the actual

driving, did you? I'm assuming you accompanied your

children and they did the driving.

Hi Jane,

Just wanted to say that I am glad you found this

board. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1998.

My health has been steadily declining and I am in the

process of trying to find out why. A diagnosis seems

to be a very ilusive thing.

Hello everyone!

My name is Jane, i've been looking on the internet for

information on
Conns Syndrome and have finally found a support group,

a very
exclusive one considering there's only a few

members!

I had Conns Syndrome confirmed about a month ago,

after blood tests
etc.

Im 22 and in the RAF at RAF Marham, Norfolk, in the

UK. & nbsp; The only
reason i found out ive got this problem is because i

wanted to go on
a parachute course and when i went for the medical i

set the alarm
off on the blood pressure monitor! & nbsp; I

subsequently have not been
allowed to jump out of an aeroplane........ probably

for the best!!

Due to being in the RAF things are moving along

reasonably fast
(fingers crossed!), its only been about 4 months since

i went for my
medical, im seeing my consultant on wednesday so

hopefully i'll find
out more then. & nbsp; I want this sorted as soon as

possible as i have been
medically downgraded and in the RAF that means no

detachments to
sunny desert climates and not much chance of

promotion, and im pretty
eager to do both!

Last week i had to wear a 24 tape heart monitor that

was a right pain
in the arse! made sleeping uncomfortable, should get

the results from
that and an ultrasound and xray on wednesday.

I read in one of the emails that someone has suffered

from
breathlessness. & nbsp; I had to have time off of work a

fortnight ago
because i was feeling out of breath without doing

anything and also
felt dizzy. & nbsp; The doctor had no idea why i felt

breathless, i was
wondering if any of you knew why i have felt like

this?

I am very lucky at the moment to have other things to

think about,
ive got a wonderful boyfriend, Doug, who is really

understanding when
i feel down and get upset, and were moving out of the

barrack block
on friday to rent a house together. & nbsp; So interior

decorating and
buying furniture is occupying me for the moment!

I would really like to hear from anyone about how they

are coping and
how their treatment is going, so please email me.
Hello! I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Kristie and I

live in Indiana. I am a single mother of a 3 year old little girl

name Kaylee Ning Yan and a Shih Tzu named Puddles. I am 35 years old

and have asthma for 34 years. I also have the allergies that go

along with it. Last year was a tough year for my asthma and it looks

like it is starting out the same this year.

I also have a very good friend that just been diagnoised with Brain

Cancer. I am having a hard time with this but trying to support

him. He has always been the healthy one in our friendship and the

one that help me when I had asthma attacks.

I can't wait to get to know everyone.

Kristie,

I thought she might be from China, but I didn't want to ask. :) My

husband is Chinese (that's why my last name is Kum) That is so

wonderful of you to leave her Chinese name, so she can be in touch with

her Chinese roots. I bet she is the most beautiful child! Just so you

know, we have a Kristy here too, so if you see that spelling, it is her,

not someone misspelling your name LOL. I hope you are doing well!!!

Helen

Hi Helen! Thank you for the words.

Since you like my daughters name let me tell you about her, not a proud

mom. Kaylee is adopted from China and her name in China was Yi Ning Yan.

So Kaylee was name after me, Kristie Lee, and left her chinese name for

the middle name. My friend , with Cancer, named her. He always had

trouble spelling Kristie so he called me K Lee.

HI ,

Nursing will help the inches fall off of you!

I stayed away from Myoplex because it contains aspartame. I avoided all fake

sugars & anything unnatural while I nursed.

That's me though.

Hello , and welcome (back)! Congrats on the birth of your

son. :) I, too, had a c-section with my d.d. (who is now the ripe

old age of 13!!) and I remember it took me quite a while to lose the

baby weight, as I breastfed for 10 months and didn't know much about

nutrition (BFL was unfortunately not in existence then).

Your results are marvelous so far! Keep going and you will be so

happy with what BFL can do to reshape your body and rid it of excess

body fat. You will find that weight loss is widely variant among

BFLers. Some people lose a lot to begin with (much of that being

water weight from excess carb intake pre-BFL) and then it levels off

after that. Some people don't lose an ounce for weeks on end, and

then all of a sudden BAM! a bunch of weight comes off.

Women in particular need to be more patient, as scale weight

fluctuates so much depending on hormones, not to mention what you

have eaten recently, etc. The best way to track your progress is

with a good tape measure. In my opinion, even better than BF%

measurements, as those numbers have a margin of error, even if you

use the same method every time. The tape measure won't lie though...

if you are losing inches according to the tape, then you are losing

fat and building muscle.

Good luck to you in your challenge, and watch your form on the ab

exercises carefully because of that c-section. :)

Welcome back. :-) I definitely found that fat loss was a lot easier once I had

more muscle.

I've seen lots of breastfeeding moms use Myoplex with their doctor's blessing.

If you have any doubts you could always take a packet with you to your next

appointment. The only questionable ingredient is probably aspartame.

Hello!

I posted a while back. I had a baby boy in January, Ollie. I had a

am hoping for a loss this week.

You know on " conventional " diets your weight loss tails off as you

go along? Well, I read about a couple of BFLers who said their

weight gain increased as they built more muscle. Anyone else had

okay to do so. I am taking UDO's too but nothing else!

mainly work in watercolors. What type of work do you do?

Hi Jonda, with six thousand some odd members there's always room for

more. Glad to hear you have done so well on BFL. Hopefully you can

share some of your experiences with us. 60 pounds is a big weight

loss. Thanks for coming out of lurkdom.
