I didntw ant to wait at all, so i switched to a pediatrician that deals with speical needs kids, and can diagnos him in the office. If he has any healthe related issues he can see him for that as well, they could be related.

First I want to say Kudos to you for wanting to get educated and help your child with early intervention. The best thing about Autism, IMO, is that, while it can't be "cured" per say, with things like therapy, diet, and in some cases medication, some Autistic kids can lead fairly "normal" lives. My opinion, and it is JUST my opinion, it could be SO much worse then Autism, and sometimes, when things are at their worst, you have to say that to yourself (at least I do- it's a comfort to me).

I would suggest reading up on sites such as www.autism-society.org www.maapservices.org www.nichcy.org

Good luck with the evaluation and finding out all the info you can now.

Hi all! I'm Chaundra. Ya'll have no idea how glad I am to be

here! I have caught the soapmaking bug, and it bit hard! My

husband is getting so tired of listening to me talk and talk and

talk some more about how into this I am, and what I'd like to do,

and how do I get hooked up with someone who knows what they're doing

so I can ask for guidance, etc.... I started out making soaps for

Christmas presents this past holiday, and fell in love. It was

microwavable glycerin from Micheal's, and it was easy enough, but I

don't have any fragrances, or colors, or different ingredients, or

the know-how to do any of the above mentioned things... So, here I

am, and I hope you can help me find my way around! Thank you all!

Welcome to the group. It is a group none of us would have wanted to join for the reasons that we have but knowing that we have each other to deal with this stuff helps.

I had been having a-fib and svt's before my Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Luckily for me I was already in the hospital when it happened. I was admitted because my Potassium was extremely low and they did not know why my body was dumping it. Because of the Arrest and low Potassium I developed LongQT and that is why I ended up with my AICD. I do know that Magnesium and Potassium go hand-in-hand. I am on oral Potassium supps and it seems to be helping.

No warning signs whatsoever, except my magnesium levels were really low on admittance....any of you heard of a low magnesium/cardiac arrest connection? I have some theories.....

Hi all, I've been enjoying lurking the past few days and thought I'd say hello now. This list seems like a great bunch of people. I'm 38, female w/Marfan's and had cardiac arrest on May 29. Thanks to being in a public place with a nearby defib and off-duty EMTs, I am alive (hurray!!). According to my family, I passed out, had CPR (didn't work), then was de-fibbed. Fell into a coma, woke up a day later, and miraculously had no permanent damage. Had the ICD implanted on June 2. The doctors were surprised this happened to me, we had all been more prepared for an eventual mitral valve replacement or even an aortic dissection than a cardiac arrest. No warning signs whatsoever, except my magnesium levels were really low on admittance....any of you heard of a low magnesium/cardiac arrest connection?

I have some theories..... One of the big challenges for me is trying to piece together all the events that happened during that week, since I had short-term memory loss. As far as the ICD, I think I've adjusted pretty well (until the first ZAP hits anyway!) Well, thanks for letting me bend your ear. areas such as Iraq etc, rig medics and a whole lot more. Its a great site for

You see, I use the word " wirklich " pretend being

" fluent " in speaking German. All you need to do is

shake your head up and down and occasionally say

" wirklich!?! " I do this to amuse a childhood friend

of mine and another mutual German friend of ours who

lives near furt in a Lauterbach. Its the running

joke every 5 years of so it seems to take us to get

together and I of course, use my fluency to its

best...

My son's name is Bryce - he can be partially described

as energetic, stubborn, brilliant, obstinate, clever,

& wise beyond his years. Bryce was part of the Phase

1 VPA study and continues to receive such therapy (we

think he really has benefited from the VPA &

Carnitine).

His sister is, age 3, is equally dimensional in

her personality traits - though her's must include

various doctors, she has no symptoms - either by the

naked eye or by clinical measurement. As a matter of

fact, she's at dance school this moment...

:-) That reminds me of a friend of mine who came back from L.A. where she worked

as an au-pair girl for one year. When talking to her she only nodded and said:

" Ok, .... ok,.... " .

If you visit your friends in Lauterbach again just let me know (if you like), I

live near furt. ( " Wirklich? " - " Ok! " ) LOL

What you told me about your children sounds wonderful. I love children and am

very happy my brother will be father in some month. He and his wife run some

genetically tests on SMA but they all were negative. So the doctor told them,

they can relax, the baby can get any other handicap but no SMA. My brother was

told that it is unusual and that it may be that my SMA is a mutation. To find

this out my parents could be tested but we decided against it. It doesn't matter

now and the tests cost much money.
