thanks wesley.  I'm very involved in rescue work -I've written a book of all the breed rescues and shelters in Florida and the pharmacy pays to distribute it to veterinarian  offices all over the state and I work with a bunch of groups to promote responsible pet ownership. I'd love to see where rescue is the exception and not the rule. I just finished filming yesterday a wonderful shelter that is building a huge spay and neuter clinic and is going to offer free spay and neuter. I told them they would have to wait until I finished the LDN project  (which is almost done) but I'm hoping it will help with grants and also to be able to recruit volunteers.none of this would be possible without Skip who totally supports all this stuff.cyndiOn Jun 17, 2006, at 10:59 AM, Wesley wrote:I strongly suspected you were a good person before Cyndi. KATHY, IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT IT IS DEPRESSION. MY SIS

NURSES. MINE WENT THE OPPOSITE WAY OF PLANNING MY

DEMISE. BOTH ARE THE RESULTS OF DEPRESSION. FIRST IS

HOMICIDAL IDEATION AND THE SECOND IS OBVIOUSLY

SUICIDAL IDEATION. I DON'T THINK A PERSON'S SEX HAS A

It`s called "Emotional Lability" , it`s quite well known, there was an article about it a while back in New Pathways, the Multiple Sclerosis Resourse Centre`s Bi-Monthly Magazine: (I could probably source the address of the PDF file of that issue, if you like.)

Guess that it`s more "Grist for the Mill "! -Shows where we could benefit from paying closer attention; (-where doesn`t, come to that?!)

-I try to be careful about it, but still slip up occasionally. (-think/hope that at least I`m getting better at apologizing.)

Anecdotal tales show it`s lighter side; (for others, anyway.!)

eg. Apparently people have had to stop going to the theatre, as they find that the are sobbing uncontrollably at the most trivial things on stage.

Or one may be moved intensely by something in a TV soap.

In particular, music can do it to/for me! Sometimes it`s amazing the range of types that can unexpectly "catch me"

-Some, I don`t want to talk about(!) But one "hardy perennial" that I will own up to started when I first heard & saw a video of the blind Italian tenor

Andre Bochelli singing "Time to say Goodbye" with the soprano Brightman: The combination of the song & how the 2 of them were just got to me;

(Getting to me now, just thinking about it!)- It can still happen, if I hear that song.

Sometimes it`s embarrassing what "catches me" unexpectedly on TV......(Part of me likes to think that I`m cooler than that & I find myself quickly checking whether or not anyone noticed!)

-Think it can also manifest as "inapropiate laughter"!

Be Happy!

How many people out there have had issues from time to time with anger which they never had before their ms? I am typically very easy going but once in a while now, I get really bitchy and immediately I am sorry. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel it is my central nervous system but it could be hormones. I was just wondering if the guys have had this happen as well. Thanks in advance, Kathy

Emotional lability such as this is extremely common in PLS and I think

to a lesser extent ALS. There are various things people take for it if

it becomes overpowering and disruptive to normal daily life. It can

also manifest itself with inappropriate 'laughing' eg at funerals. I

put laughing in inverted commas because as anyone who has had it happen

to them knows, it is typically not a true laugh but more a strangled

sort of sound that comes out sounding like a strange laugh.

Like Gerald, I find watching any 'special' moment on TV can really get

to me and choke me up, even sporting things like replays of the goals

when Australia defeated Japan 3-1 in the World Cup. Those sort of

things make me feel so good I almost wail out loud (occasionally do,

which can be very embarrassing). :-)

Donna, I don't feel sad really. I actually got a B12 shot yesterday and feel great! I am ordering them from a friend and will start doing them at home. It really cleared my head.I just get issues of short-term crankiness I am immediately remorseful afterwards and I was never like this until the past year so......hormones, ms, who knows??? I am having a hair analysis done and will keep the group posted if there are any significant findings which could help others. Donna, if you really feel that depressed, I would see someone before it got bad. Maybe the HTP , GABA, phenylalanine, or somekind of supplement would help. I always feel the answer is out there and it is a missing link in our diet or the way we absorb nutrients or perhaps just a chemical imbalance that needs a bit of tweaking. I do wish you both the best. Two heads are better than one. Kind regards, Kathy

Kathy,

Whenever I feel like I am going to come down with something I start on the Mega doses of Vit C. I am a real believer in the effectiveness of Vit C. I usually take 1000-1500 mg 3-4 times a day. If you get too much Vit C your body flushes it out through your urine. That is because it is a water soluble vitamin. Works for me! Activated Charcoal works too.

I wanted to share with everyone here a new product I have started which I feel has helped my allergies and my colon. I am taking vitamin C crystals from GNC. I take between 2000-4000 daily. It is suppose to flush toxins out of the body. I got the product because they just did remodeling in my home and it was so dusty but I never knew the crystals would give me such an overall feeling of wellness. It is nothing like the capsule or caplet. This is the most direct way of getting it into your body besides an IV. It is good at removing heavy metals also. Since we are never quite sure what is going on with this condition, I just wanted to share this with all of you and hope it is of benefit to someone . Have a great weekend, kathy

Put the key terms eg. 5 cents email post office and the word hoax into

Google and you will get plenty of evidence that it's a hoax (and an old

one at that)!

Maybe you need to ask an attorney instead!!!!! I'm serious Jim, you really need to pursue this legally. Neither you nor your wife should have to suffer at all because of a stupid mistake. This wasnt your responsibility at all to doublecheck the pills to make sure they were the right color or the right ones, thats ridiculous. If it were me, I would make an example out of them. You do what you want, but if it were me, I would sue the crap out of them!

Anyone;

Since I was given the wrong medication in place of LDN, my wife had to pick me up many times, she has hurt her back, can this cause a women's bladder to drop too?

I don't know about " drop " , but I have

less bladder difficulties when a chiropractor

keeps my low back aligned properly. So,

yes, back problems, lower back, can cause

bladder difficulties.

Jim,

Dave is right, you won't know what the long term effects of this drug will do. You won't know what the long term effects of your wife hurting her back will do. You just don't know. She could have pulled anything out of whack. Don't hesitate get her to the Dr. and get yourself to a lawyer. Kathie had good sound advice. I suggest you take it. Not so that you can hurt or be mean to this one particular pharmacist, but to protect yourself and your family. I can't believe they had pesticides so handy they could mistake them for human consumption?

My acupuncturist recommended 'Buffered Vit C'. Do you how close is that to the crystals?

I have been taking 2 to 3,000 mg a day.

Interesting that you bring this up. I was thinking the same thing myself.

If nothing else that show was a reminder to me to continue with my meditation

and tai qi which sometimes falls through the cracks when I am busy and

distracted. And this has been the case with me lately.

Anything that reduces stress and induces emotional well-being is going to

help us. The challenge when using the mind-body connection to help in our

healing is to avoid the expectation trap. This can be a set up for

frustration,

negativity and failure. There is a very fine balance between the

visualization process, optimism and expectation. God only knows, I have been

there

with this myself.

I combine acupuncture with Taoist healing meditation in the work that I do

as an acupuncturist. Meditation increases the healing effect. However, I

sometimes forget to " heal thyself " so thank you Barb, for the reminder and

lighting this fire under me.

,

I've done Progressive Relaxation and Visulalization

for years, and have always found it to be helpful, but

you do have to practice it all the time - at least I

do.

I have never tried acupuncture, but I had a neighbor

that moved to California a couple years ago, and while

she was living here, she would get acupuncture

treatments from time to time, and she felt they helped

her a great deal. In fact, after she moved, she found

someone in California, and still goes for treatments.

I picked up a Rx at a pharmacy about 8 years ago

that was wrong stuff. Luckily it was a refill so

I could tell it wasn't right. It could be almost

impossible mistake to catch if it was first time

I had had medicine. I guess reading back Rx to

doctor when he gives it to you so you know what

it is and then looking at label on Rx when you

pick it up to make sure it matches. If the label

is wrong, you have a good law suit on your hands

if you are harmed, not that that may help you

any.

including measles and mumps multiple times. I grew up in Southern Ohio on a farm and the first 9 years of my life were filled with doctor visits because of chronic bronchitis. Then as a pre-teen my grandfather got TB and we all had to get vaccinations. My cousin and I both were DX with ms later in life and we are both about the same age. His has taken on a more progressive course. Mine started almost 13 years ago with a constant but slow and steady decline. My symptoms were many and they just roved around my body. One day it was visual and the next day my left hand was weak, another day slurred speech and difficulty swallowing. I have had probably 70 different ms symptoms so it was not a benign course. The first 3 years I was on the Swank diet and calcium EAP capsules. I didn't see an improvement , just a very slow yet steady decline. I would sleep 14 hours a day and work the other 10. My life seemed grim to others around me but I knew I would find a course of action.

In 1999 I started calcium EAP without a definite diagnosis. My husband was very hesitant about injecting me with an unapproved FDA substane,. However, he stood beside me, beleived in me and learned how to do the IV injections. In 3 weeks, I was symptom free and stronger than ever. It was a true miracle. My skin regained its color and my eyes were clear again. My extremities were strong and I could do more physical work and still go to the gym. I am lucky and blessed. Due to the quality of my veins, we needed an alternative. In 1999 I started reading about LDN and in 2003 I started it. It has halted my progression so far it appears and I only need an occasional shot of EAP. I still take the oral form just in case as Dr. Neiper prescribed. The day before my probable ms diagnosis I had a dream of my brain on the MRI and that I would have to go to the hospital to pick it up because my doctors mother was ill. I forgot all about the dream until I was holding the film in my hand and reading "probable MS". It had occurred exactly as in my dream right down to the doctor's mother being ill and the picture of my brain was very vivid. I will never forget that premonition as I had already made my flight plans to obtain the IV calcium eap.

I had been praying for months to meet someone with ms to validate what was going on with my body . I had gone in to get my nails done and rather than my typical type A behavior of running out the door for the next errand, I thought why not relax and read a magazine until your nails are dry ? I had never done this in my life ! As I was reading, a man with a cane approached me and said "honey, do you mind if I sit down and talk to you for a while"? I say "sure, have a seat". He says " the strangest thing happened to me the other day. I went to the doctor and they told me I have ms" I replied "Really. Why don't you tell me all about it?" He talks for the next 45 minutes about his symptoms as I intervene at times telling him of natural ways which may alleviate certain symptoms and we talk about the central nervous system in detail. He say "My God honey, are you a nurse?" I replied " no, someone I love has ms. He thanked me for my time and says "I HAVE OWNED THE DELI TWO DOORS DOWN FROM THIS SALON FOR 17 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER COME IN HERE. AS I WALKED BY THE WINDOW TODAY SOMETHING TOLD ME TO COME IN AND TALK TO YOU" My eyes filled with tears of joy as he left. I went up to the receptionist who is my friend and said " The gentleman from the deli was just diagnosed with ms" She said "Kathy, he has had ms as long as he has owned that deli" I got in my car wondering if I was there for him that day or he was there for me. we are all connected in this universe here to help one another. This happened to me nearly 13 years ago and I wanted to share with all of you in the hope it may help someone in some way to bring joy and hope in your life.

Upon my healing or management of my ms I went back to the deli and it was closed. I looked for his number in the phonebook so I could share my calcium EAP story. It was his elderly mother and she would not relay the message for him to call me. I guess she thought I was a kook. Sorry I was so long winded . Have a great day. Best, Kathy

Dear Kathy:

Please write to me, I am on Calcium EAP injected for 3 years.. Love it.
