I started losing fat with The Zone. The ratios are very similar to BFL

(40/30/30). Upping the protein and dropping the carbs to 40% is what changed

everything. Before that I'd been avoiding meat and fat, and living on bagels and

pasta and fat free cookies. I was a fat storage hormone with legs.

Now, since I've been answering your questions, you have to answer one for me.

What kind of sound do servals make? Do they meow? Roar? Purr? Hiss? :-)

Thanks

Ahh, , that makes me feel better. I was so

disgusted with my before photos. I tried to make

myself look as gross as I could, but then I was like,

oh goodness, if I can make myself look that bad then I

am that bad!!! I started at around 160 27.5 %bf and I

was twelve percent and 120 at seventeen. That means

in 12 years I have packed on a whole lot of fat!

People say, well you look great, don't forget you have

kids, oh my gosh, I just want to slap them. It's like

saying, you look good for your age, what the heck! I

cannot believe what clothes hide, if ever I had to run

naked from a burning building I would scare the

neighborhood! By the way, what did you do to lose it

before BFL, because you look amazing in your before

photos.

Re: Dale please read

Belinda,

I hope Lacy is feeling better soon. Please keep us posted. I just visited you

website. WOW!!! You have such a beautiful family. You and your husband sound

like such remarkable people. Talk about busy, when do you get a moment to

yourself. I It sounds like you had a very rough night with taking care of Lacy.

I am so sorry . I read her story on your website. What a remarkable story.

God works in mysterious ways, the way he pairs special needs children with very

special moms and dads. From what I can tell you are all very very special.

Thank you for the response to my email during my meltdown. I am much better now

(sigh!!) & thank you for the reminder that we are all human and sharing your

day with me. I am sorry it was bad , but just knowing that we all have our

moments with our children somehow made me feel like I am not alone.

You and your family are in my prayers

Love , hugs and prayers

Hi Sharon~~

I just had to respond to your email when I saw it. I guess it hit pretty

close to home.

Catnip, what a great

job...................................................................

Thanks

I just wanted to thank all of you for the advice & encouragement you

have given me this past week. I really felt like I wasn't doing so

great but you all have lifted me up & shown me that I have come along

way and that I have made great improvements. In the last year I have

lost 5 inches from my hips, 3 from my waist, 3.25 from my chest. I

have lost 23 lbs of fat, and gained 15 lbs of muscle. I have gone

from a size 22 to a size 16. Also I an not as light headed as a was

last year & I have fewer headaches. I have more energy & drive than I

did last year. I can now fold my arms acrossed my chest, I can do a

real sit up, a real lunge a real squat. So what if it has taken a

long time? So what if it takes 2 more year? At least I am doing

something. For something is better than nothing. I am not giving up!

Once again thank you!

I don't know about getting easier. I start C2 tomorrow. The last

time I took a week off and it took me 3 years to get started again!

I'll let you know. I just kept muttering " progress not perfection "

over and over the whole last 4 weeks. I made progress so I guess it

worked.

Ann,

If the alpha/theta ratio is low in the back, then I would certainly train

alpha up at P for younger clients. You are quite right, however, that

alpha (like SMR and beta) is not necessarily the same frequency for

youngsters as it is for adults.

Oh sweet Elly,

Your post just seemed to hit home this morning! People can be so

judgmental, like we deserve Stills Disease or something because of

something we do! I know exactly what you mean! We get in the habit of

hiding our troubles. The worst is watching carefully to avoid exposure

to other illnesses that could be very serious for our compromised immune

systems. Even those we are very close to sometimes think that somehow

their cold, flu or others germs can't be that dangerous so they pretend

they aren't' ill and visit us anyway. I wish we could come up with some

clever door message to inform forks that YES, your germs can be harmful

to me, even fatal. I feel like you, this Stilligan Family is my major

support and I am so very thankful for you all! Louise.

Dear Elly,

Girlfriend don't I just know it! Slap another almost 15 years to keeping

the " germs " at bay, and we are talking me. I got so tired of trying to

explain the situation, that a good deal of the time my husband and

I just gracefully " bow out " of many crowded gatherings. My friend

who has the Cancer and is receiving Chemo, mtx, etc. is in the same

boat, and maybe even worse as she isn't to be around anyone..*ever*

who has a cold or flu...so aggravating!

As far as trying to explain the illness etc. I now have a brochure ready

to hand out. It helps to explain about the rarity of the " dragon. "

Yes, this is a great " family " isn't it?

Love you, tricia

Hi Marta..I know you'll do just fine on your exam- it's got to be a relief to

almost be over with it. How are you going to celebrate? I thought of you and

the flies today. 2 young friends are visiting from Germany, and we went on the

plantation house tour- 200 miles worth. The dining room at Oak Allley had a

glass jar catcher contraption thing that was covered with a lace handkerchief

so as not to offend the dinner guests. Unfortunately, they were not offered for

sale in the gift shop. Betsy

Thanks

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and good wishes. I will be

leaving tomorrow afternoon for Pasadena and the exam, God willing.

That is if they let me into the exam without the darn ticket!

have you had a sleep study done? we use a vailbed so nathan cant get out of

bed and mostly wander but also head bang elsewhere, though often he will

have the vail netting marks on him from headbanging, its all padded so he

cant hurt himself. this sounds stufpid but when he use to bang his feet

constantly alllll nite long, we put those sand ankle weights on him and that

rided us of that anoying sleep preventing habit, i dont think there is

anyway to make his head heavy, lol, unless there is such a thing as a

weighted helmet. when nathans tries to headbang during the day we redirect

to a different activity, he is slowing down with age, usually its just the

overstimulating factors that get him going. shawna.

Thanks

Good grief, is this what they call " breaking in the doc? " Or maybe " How to

Kill the Doctor in a Couple of Days: A Treatise of On Call and Triple

Bookings? " Or even, " What It Takes to Make a Doctor Sick to Death of Her Work. "

" How

to Create Excitement in an On Call Doctor: Lie and Tell Her She's Not On

Call. " Or maybe they are working at producing a new " General Hospital " called

" How the Internist Turns. " Starring: as Marta (or who do you

want to play you, Marta)? Have they taken out a $5 million life insurance

policy on you? I hope the day turns out better than it has started! Hugs and

blessings, Ann

Hello,

Thanks you for your support for my Dad. It's really nice to read your emails. Today I will translate all your emails him and I'm sure he will be very happy for all of them.

I'm Polish and my dad (63 years old) will be surgery maybe next week in GCM in Katowice, Poland. It's the best cardio clinic in Poland.

You can visit their website but it's in Polish only: http://www.gcm.pl/

I will inform you how he is feel after surgery of course.

Thanks a lot,

Tommy

You will be okay. There are so many positives to your situation that I read.

Number one- you love Noah. Number two- you got the dx early. Number three-

you're educating yourself about the dx well. Number four- you sound like you

are a VERY good advocate for Noah. Number five- you are certainly dedicated

to getting the best available treatment for Noah. Number six- sounds like the

people you are working with understand and can admit when they aren't capable

of helping Noah. There's no doubt that it is a different life with our kids,

but that doesn't mean it's a bad life, just different. Seth was dx'd when he

was 2 years old and now he's 7. I hope the next 5 years go as well for you

as they have for us. Hang in there , both of you will be okay. You'll

cope, accept and advocate and Noah will learn and grow and you will both meet

some of the nicest people in the world.

(((((hugs)))))

Gail :-)
