Guest guest
Hello Laurie! Welcome to our list! Can you tell us a bit more about where you live, what kind of schooling your daughter is participating in, what kind of treatment she is in now, are you accessing cognitive behavioural therapy? And, of course, is there something we can help you figure out!! Has your daughter connected with the ocd teen list?? It is a terrific resource. The kids are very friendly, and Dr. Hatton (Dr. Hat) is there if needed. Our number one rule is: Take care of yourself!!! You will find this group of people invaluable, believe me! best wish, wendy in canada (mom to 3 & married to another with ocd, depression....) Guest guest
Laurie, Welcome to the list. My son was hospitalized also, at 12. We didn't get the help or support from that experience, unfortunaltly. We live in a rural area and upon discharge, I would spend countless hours on the phone getting the run around. Very frustrating! The professional help available did more harm than good. BUT I am glad to say that things are much better now. We have found a dr. who has been able to " talk the language " and actually put a chink in the wall our son has built. We have learned to back off and not fuel the fire, and our son has also done a nice job in making an effort to control his impulses. Don't get me wrong....we still have storms and inapproprate, controling behavior, it is just not at alarming porportions. Step by step. He is now 15. I am looking forward to you sharing with us your trails and tribulations. This group has been VERY VAULUABLE to me. It is nice to have you on our caring, sharing, list. =====

Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. If I were you, I would use this week to really get everything I need in place. Clearly defined goals and worksheets, exercise and workout routines, shopping done and some meal plans ready. Preparation can make the all the difference between success and hit-and-miss. Good luck, Leaner.
Guest guest
JUST DO IT, Start working on the proper eating habits and practice your workouts so when you begin your program you will not have to figure out how to work it into your schedule you will have already done it and you can concentrate on your workout. As for the cardio for the marathon when I was much much younger I ran marathons in the service and I know what you need to do just do it in the morning. I don't think the extra cardio will hurt your program. Good Luck Champion. Walt.

Guest guest
, Go ahead and start your challenge whenever you like but for entering purposes you will have to wait until the official contest starts. You'll just be one week closer to that great body. As for the marathon, train as you normally would for that. Lots of folks add more cardio than Bill says to do. And there have been others who have entered marathons before you with great results. Just make sure you eat enough calories to compensate for the added expenditure so you don't lose muscle. ~Laury
Guest guest
I never herd of a lead poking through that way. Even though my hubby was lucky to be 10 blocks from a good hospital he is petrified. They wanted to do a heart transplant on him. His Doctor in our hospital said not yet. Talk about Grouchy testy and touchy. I think it comes with the territory. I know we have to stick with it

Guest guest
Kim, Don't let them get you down. When you start looking good and feeling good no one can touch you. I am telling you sister, it really gives your self esteem a boooosssttt. Really. I have been with bfl for 6 weeks and people notice. I have a highly visable job (own a bakery) and people are like what are you doing?? YOU are looking good. And listen support comes from unexpected sources. I have 2 guys (one customer who was really heavy and the mail man) who are my biggest supporters... LOL that sounds funny! But it is really funny who you'll feel gives you the most. They come in different sizes and shapes and who knows how or why but they can just make your day! So keep the faith, and go for it, and next time they say " I wonder how long she will be on this one?....... " Say for life! With a huge smile, it is after all away of life.
