The farm team for the Orioles is in Frederick, land. It is so much

better (my opinion) than going to Camden Yards. It certainly is more kid

oriented - they even have a playground area for the kids. - that is

3 hours from where you live. We also have the Town Races (with

slots) - took there one time and he had a great time. All the

jockys give their " used " googles to kids standing by the fence. I felt bad

when they would spot and give him the googles. It wasn't hard for

us to get to share - he could care less and one pair is enough!

Think I'll talk hubby into running up there soon.

My word!! I hope you're all being properly compensated for all this time

you're putting in!

I'd love to go to one of these some day, but the closest is about a 2-hour

drive and hubby couldn't be dragged to one, anyway.

>so i have been sewing like crazy.

I love the costumes you ladies make! And there's no shame in being bigger

sized in those gatherings, either. You can't be a buxom beauty without an

ample bust now! LOL

Computers drive us all crazy on a *good* day, and switching to a new system for you hubby must be the pits! Hopefully he'll get it straightened out and running smoothly soon and you'll have your cheerful hubby back just in time for racing season. :)

> I am finding it hard to stay on budget

Welcome to my world! Ed's insurance went up, but so did taxes, so he's winding up taking home less, and we were living on pennies to being with! Then we had to buy other medical insurance for Henry, since he's now 22 and off our policy. I can't wait until he graduates in May and hopefully finds a job somewhere!

And now with this storm expected this weekend and payday not until tomorrow I went scrounging around the apartment looking for any money to grab to go grocery shopping, because if we *do* get the 12 inches they're now forecasting my cars will be buried by the plow and it'll be a few weeks before we can get them dug out and have someplace to park them. At least my pantry and freezer are now full, so if I can't get grocery shopping for a big order again until late March I'm all set.

>Cable is going up.

Cablevision goes up about every 3 months, while they offer less service. I wish we could drop it, but with the WTC antenna gone, recption around here for local stations would be as bad as it was in the 1950's, when snowy pictures were a fact of life no matter how good your tv set's rabbit ears were.

> I am struggling with my headaches this week.

I was wondering why you weren't on-line for a few days but assumed it was a sick kid or 2. I'm glad you're feeling well enough to post today.

> and get ready for a visit from my baby > brother and best friend tomorrow.

Have fun, and have the couch ready in case they're stuck and have to sleep over. :)

I really hope that things get better for you soon . I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. 340/300.8/299 UpdateIt has been a crazy few weeks here in NH. My weight is about the same. Work for hubby is not good at all. He has been in computer hell trying to get the shop set up with a new system to diagnos cars. And of course everyone has to put there 2 cents in. I am hoping that is resolved in the next few days. It sucks him coming home in a bad mood. AFter being alone all day I want sometype of normal stuff going on. I hate drama... I am finding it hard to stay on budget so that is something I am going to have to examine and tweak a bit. Mortgage went up $120 do to taxes. Electric went up $50 do to rate increase. Cable is going up. Plus we have had a couple of big expenses so time to tighten the belt somewhere. I have not been able to shop under $100 each week for months. I am struggling with my headaches this week. I have had to medicate 4 out of the 5. With the meds being expensive have to watch that. Today I am going to clean, organize, and get ready for a visit from my baby brother and best friend tomorrow. We are also do for a nor easter. I have to refocus my goals a bit as well. NH... I jinxed yesterday by saying he's been healthy all this winter

season. Darn!

He told me this morning that his throat and ears hurt. I sent him to school

with a note of what numbers to call today (I knew I'd be out of the office

most of the day). I got a call from Tim saying he was on his way to the

pediatricians (I'm blown away at this point - there are 2 firsts here -

tells me his throat hurts and Tim takes him to the pediatrician

without me telling him to!). The doctor was new - so he really wasn't that

comfortable with her - but got an Rx for augmentum that he will need after

talking more with the nurse.

Many of you know that is totally obsessed with Green Eggs and Ham -

major OCD stuff going on with him and that book. I buy at least one book a

week - he tears out the pages and does his pages thing for about 5-7 days

before he tears the pages into tiny pieces (and thus gets thrown away). So

Tim says he walks out of the doctor's office with the complimentary copy in

the waiting room. He sends back in to return the book since it

wasn't his. comes back out (I had told him earlier that morning

that I was bringing him a new book home) and gets in the car with Tim.

After they are home for awhile, Tim hears pages being torn. Yeap, he snuck

that book home somehow- probably tucked down the backside of his pants!

Egads! I had a talk with about stealing tonight. Hope some of it

sunk in!

I had taken tomorrow off to accompany on a field trip - now I'll be

home with him instead. I just bought him a laminator - maybe we'll play

around with that and see what we produce!

Hey, Why don't you laminate all the pages to Green Eggs and Ham and put it

in a 3 ring binder.

We've done that before - those pages last 2-3 weeks, lol. Not sure if it's cost

savings as expensive as the laminating sheets are. I bought a 10 pack of sheets

- need more for the book.

, this is the weirdest thing - tears the pages out so there is a

diagonal tear. He's seen me cut the pages out and he's seen me tear them out to

get a good vertical rip - but he has to have the diagonal tear. We can't figure

that one out.

Oh yea, another update (Jackie says to share, share, share....).

claimed the family room in the absense of his siblings who all live

away from home now. We still keep his Game Cube upstairs, which helps limit

his time spent on playing (which by the way he's mastered all the gadgets on

the controllers and knows the hidden things - I can't even get the

characters beyond staying on a path and he goes through all these levels

with ease).

Well, he outsmarted us once again, he moved the game cube downstairs and

plugged it in. Geesh, I have no idea about the red, yellow and white plugs

and I thought all the electrical outlets were taken!

thanks for suggestions. I did go the healthfood store route before i ordered

from him. Thats why i orderd. i have to say I have ordered from him twice before

and didn't have a problem. That is why I originally posted here to see if you

all may know if he is having any problems. I have emailed now four times and

still don't have a shipping notice. it was not my intent on bashing but venting

my frustration. i am done with the entire situation and will go back to lurkdom.

Thank all of you who have expressed their concerns. I'm very grateful.

Update

Hi, I have been lurking a lot recently but still read the lists. Working

full time has been tough on my email viewing schedule!! It has also been

tough on Tim and partly as a result of that and partly as a result of other

things I have decided to quit teaching (after only a year) and to return to

fostering, initially mainstream 0-5's and later to children with

disabilities. I have been home 2 days and its been great not to have to

wake up at 6.15am each week day morning, leave at 7am and return at 5.30pm.

My garden looks better already!

Anyway, Tim is doing well. Puberty which struck a little over a year ago is

well and truly progressing, there is every likelihood that it will stop soon

due to its premature start but we'll face the consequences of that if and

when it happens. Tim decided not to go for growth hormone, he didn't want

the daily jabs and who can blame him. Puberty has meant a massive (for him)

growth spurt and he has grown around 10-15 cms this year as compared to 4-5

up until those hormones kicked in! I have had to buy him three sets of new

shoes since september. I can well remember the days when a pair of shoes

would last two years! I have also had to buy him a complete winter and

summer wardrobe this year and will have to do the same next year. He

finally outgrew the summer coat that i bought for him when he was 5 years

old!! He is so proud to be 'tall' now.

We are now 9 months down the road from his ACE surgery that has led to a

clean and nappy free boy. He is going for manomtry(? spelling) in a couple

of weeks to check the muscle tone in his rear end to see if he will ever be

trainable or if he will need to rely on the ACE for faecal continence

indefinitely. And he is going for a revision of the ACE at the end of the

month to improve access for the catheters, he has a lump of skin covering

the opening to the stoma at the moment which makes catheterisation dificult.

He is doing well at school (special) and is off next month on a week long

residential, he is so excited. I couldn't have begun to think about a full

week residential til this year, the school are going to sort out teh

catheterisations etc and didn't even pause to take breath when I said I'd

like him to go on this trip. No problem was the attitude, so refreshing!

Anyway, he is coming to the end of his second year of high school (we start

at 11 years old in the UK), can't believe he is getting so old. My eldest

is off to uni in spetember (sniff). Can't believe that when I first came on

this list Ben (uni boy) was only 7 years old and tim just under 2. Oh I am

feeling old now!! My kids have grown up on here!!

Anyway, better go check Naomi's room for rubble- she's on a 'keep your room

tidy every day to earn back your tv, dvd, music station' kind of thing right

now. She has another 2 days to earn back the privalege of watching tv

downstairs, it'll be another 4 weeks before she gets the tv back in her

room!!

Hello

Wow, two days from now! Sure hope it will give you

some much needed relief. What is your OS going to do

arthroscopically?

Sure hope it's something very " fixable " and that

you'll be running around without those crutches

soon(est)!

Let us know how it went as soon as you get a chance,

ok?? Til then, stay off your knee so you won't have

any extra inflammation to contend with! Hey, you might

want to make yourself some icebags so you can ice your

knee alot when you come home. I put about 60 percent

water and 40 percent rubbing alcohol in a gallon

freezer bag (I double bag it). This makes an ice pack

that conforms nicely around your knee.

All the best,

nne

update

WEll I finally broke down and went to the OS he is

going to do

arthroscopy on Wed this week. He also said i should go

on crutches

since the knee is hurting when I put weight on it :(.

So hopefully Wed

after noon i will know about how bad the damage is to

my knee.
