Hi Donna,

I hope had a great 18th birthday! Sounds like a lot of fun having a

lot of girls spend the night. I hope she had a better day than we did.

It was my husband's birthday yesterday too and Brook celebrated it by

breaking our marble coffee table I inherited from my Grandmother. I don't

know if I should try and replace the marble table top since he might just

break it again. Anyway my poor husband didn't get a good start to his special

day.

Happy Birthday to your dh Marisa. Sorry about the table. Those sentimental

things are irreplaceable. Glad Brook didn't get hurt when it happened.

Donna,

Have a great time in DW!! I sure wish I was going with you. I hope

everything goes great and that Miss Maddie enjoys herself. Hopefully the

antibiotics will kick in and she'll be feeling fine for your vacation. Hope

Duff feels okay too, strep can be pretty awful!!

I'll have to tell my husband that Duff accepts calls on chemistry

and algebra when he is traveling. My oldest son, Miles, 14 yrs, 8th grade, is

in high math, which is an accelerated algebra class. Last time he went away I

had my sister and her husband on standby for algebra homework. They live in

San Francisco which is close by and are willing to fill in. It has been so

long since I have done any algebra that I just don't have a clue. is a

biochemist so we have science and math pretty well covered. Let us know how

it goes at DW.

Yea, I got some shorts for n and Joe and shirts and outfits for Allie

Still have more errands to run, but after lugging poor Maddie out this

morning, I'll wait til some of the gang comes home and then do it!!

Donna,

That's so true about needing the VCR. We may not be able to get Brook

into a summer camp this year because he needs a one on one aide which is

harder to come by and my dh dearly wants to go on a vacation somewhere. So dh

was thinking we could rent a place up at Lake Tahoe. All I can think about is

will they have a VCR?? We have to have that!! I guess maybe we could bring

our own. Then my next concern is how will we keep Brook in bed. At home we

lock him in his room everynight. So dh says he will sleep with Brook. Then

I'm thinking what kind of a vacation is this going to be. I would love a

place that we could all go to and enjoy as a family. Brook is crazy for

water, but Lake Tahoe is way too cold.

It would also have to be somewhere we could drive to since I'm not crazy

enough to try Brookie on an airplane. Maybe we'll get brave this summer and

try a vacation with Brook.

that is neat, i also take my laptop when i go to iowa city with nathan whcih

is pretty regualarly, and they are a good 4hours away from home, I just log

onto the free internet they have in iowa city, (have it downloaded on my

laptop)and i can check my emails, chat, even chat with hubby (him on our

desktop at home) and its all free, saves tons of $$$ than using the phone

does, it comes in real handy especially for those long stays at UIHC like

tomarrow we leave and will be gone almost 2weeks, pray that it is a good and

productive trip. shawna.

Marisa..not sure where you live...there is a camp for kids like ours in

Sonora called Christian Berets and they have one on one counselors. Regional

Center pays for it all except the registration fee of $100. They are

chirstians and based out of Modesto.

marisa, i used to have this fear too with nathan when we went camping, he

had one of those vail beds cause he use to wander and leave the house too

its served its purpose he has learned to mainly stay in his room, he still

uses the vail bed, just no vail over it anymore, it was a long training

process for him, but anyways when we went camping i put one of those body or

personal alarms we call them in health care, you pin the alarm to the tent

or fasten someshwere on door if have camper or cabin, and clip the end of

the string to door or zipper, so when he tries to go out or unzip, it will

go off ofcarse waking you, so you can make sure he doesnt wander off. Or you

culd just get a 20-30 dollar door alarm to put up while at cabin, we use to

have those at our house, nathan left the house twice around 3-6am, once

riding trike in road, and another ging in someones house, you can get the

coded kind or the key kind, very effective. shawna.

Donna,

Maybe the trip is just what Maddie needs. has chronic sinus problems

and his nose has been crusty and running since January. We do everything

imaginable... he has had 3 sinus surgeries, tonsils, adenoids, constant

antibiotocs, both oral and nasal spray. But we just got back from a four day

mini vacation at one of the Disney resorts and after 4 days baking in the sun

and swimming in the pools and playing in the sand, he looks like a different

person. His face was soooo broken out and chapped, and now his skin is

beautiful and the puffiness is gone. Ironically, we live 30 minutes from the

Mouse, but this was my first vacation with the boys as a single mom and I didn't

want to venture too far. We really had a great time. I hope things go well for

you. If you need anything, let me know.

Connie Mom to (7), and Austin(5), (5)DS-ASD and (5).

PS When I drive to school in the morning and afternoon, I sometimes

try to get " red lights " so I can unbuckle and reach in the back to wipe his

nose. LOL!!!

No. Believe it or not, I had no film. I depleted my supply in DW, and

have been so bogged down with either being sick, or taking care of sick kids,

Hey Honey,

I'm still up for you guys to visit here. I thought I'd get pizza for

the kids. Although, it turns out it will probably only be Maddie and me at

home because turns out my little nephew is receiving his first holy communion

that day, so Duff will be taking the other kids to my SIL's. But that's ok;

you might still get to meet him and the kids before they leave. And

Gail....it's Rita's. LOL I'm pretty sure there are Rita's in the

northeast, where you guys are staying. But either way, I'll have some here.

We're regulars at Rita's....LOLOL

So you're doing what??? The Liberty Bell? Betsy Ross House?

Independence Mall? Good ole Ben lin's stomping ground here!! Philly is

a VERY historic city; you'll see lots of stuff!!
