We watched this in our office and it is too terrible to view for more than a

few minutes at at time! My immediate fear was that their attacks were

planned down the coast and we would be next. The bases here are on high

security alert, most of the staff will be spending the night on base, no

traffic on or off. The port where my husband works is on high security and we

have the Coast Guard patrolling up and down the bay and River,

watching for boats that aren't where they should be! Our local news has just

said they are going to close schools and send the kids home early.

This tension of if they are done yet is awful here!

We've heard a rumor that a site in PA was targeted and the news will not

release where or what .... anybody heard that?

My phone is ringing off the hook ... Va. Beach schools are in lock down

status and no one is allowed in or out. All our schools on military posts

have been evacuated.

We are waiting to see if they close all the tunnels to stop traffic in and

out of our area.

I just can't believe what I'm seeing. How can anyone anywhere think that

what they are doing is okay...I just can't get my head around that!!!

I am praying that everyone on this list and their loved ones are safe...

I know that we are all touched, moved, saddened (none of these words seem

appropriate) by what has occured.

When I picked my son up at school (he's in KG), I was told that his friends

aunt works in the pentegon and her family hasn't heard from her......I pray

she's safe.

One of the planes left from Dulles. There is a rumor that Tim's place of

employment got hit...Washington Center. I had someone from work call me and

my sister who works at the FBI heard the rumor, too. I looked outside (it's

not far from here) and saw nothing.

Ralph's building is about 2 miles from the pentagon, he said it looked

like the plane mostly hit the helipad--big fire. He isn't even trying

to get home because traffic is so bad, plus he needs to stay.

Our district cancelled all afterschool and evening activities already.

Corey called as soon as she heard about the pentagon hit--she is

planning to go back to the dorm and watch CNN down in the Pit in the

lobby--which sounds good to me.

We are hearing that the prez will go to somewhere in the mountains of

NOVA--I would bet that isn't true or they are foolish to broadcast it.
