That's why those of us who soar (or as the case may be, are just sore) they

call them running lights. Besides, red light districts are misnamed. Red

lights mean stop, and there you can go as far as you want..

Best.

Mark,

Here are some things I'd try:

1. Focus more on theta/alpha (?) reduction than on Beta production.

2. Try a bipolar hookup at C3/F3 training as above.

3. Ditto at T3/Fp1.

4. If you are using 19-22 for Beta, try 15-18; or vice-versa.

5. If there is an alpha imbalance frontally, train Alpha down F3/Cz or train Alpha up F4/Cz.

Keep us informed. This sounds interesting.

Pete et al:

I currently have a client that presents with all of the classic symptoms of depression. His assessment – both of the instruments we are using now, point to processing issues. There is some frontal imbalance pointing to depression and the questionnaire points to central strip problems.

Anyway, I went confidently to beta training at C3 thinking that I would get some kind of response. After two sessions, he says it makes him sleepy. Hug?

Any pointers?

Another thing about this person that is

interesting if not relevant. His overall levels are significantly lower than

most I’ve seen. Don’t

know what that means.

By the way, Pete. I have been using the default Beta freq. which is 15 -20. Maybe

19-22 would be better?

Mark,

By the way, Pete. I have been using the default Beta freq. which is 15 -20. Maybe 19-22 would be better?

Depends on the client. For most adults, I prefer to start with 19-22, 15-18 for most kids, but I adjust based on response.

My traumatic brain injury patient shows Alpha slow in the occipitals, which would relate to memory problems. I have assumed all along left side beta training but not sure how to pin point it. Any suggestions? Another thing about this person that is interesting if not relevant. His overall levels are significantly lower than most I’ve seen. Don’t know what that means.

I have my old problem here, Mark. I know nothing about this person except a few scraps that even Hemingway wouldn't consider a characterization. I know you've mentioned a few folks you were looking at recently, but I can't keep track of the data on them, or even ID them, from e-mail to e-mail. How old is this person? One thing very low levels of activation can mean is that the client is old. Another thing it can mean is that there is damage to the gray matter. Is the slowing of alpha in the O site the only finding from the assessment, or were there others? Occipital lobes are primarily related to visual pattern recognition and association with previous visual patterns. Left prefrontal and temporal areas would be more likely related to memory issues. Did you try the digit span testing (if this is the same client), and what did you find?
