Is castor oil ok as a carrier? It's not the tiredness that's bothering me so much...it's the fogginess and dizziness...it seems worse than a couple of weeks ago.len From: Baker <vbaker@...> iodine Sent: Monday, February 13, 2012 10:12 PM Subject: Re: New member--success stories?

That's great, len. I think you should be painting iodine over the whole treatment area--

be sure to use a carrier oil.

Meanwhile, I don't think it's the iodine making you tired, as you said you were tired before

iodine.

wishing you most well,

i had a bad reaction to the isocort because of the echinacea. is there another good alternative? On Feb 13, 2012, at 10.16 PM, Baker wrote:

Of course your adrenals are exhausted after what you've been through.

I added 1200IU of mixed tocopherols Vit E

1 Tablespoon or more per day of unrefined salt

4 to 6 grams of Vit C per day

pregnenolone

Isocort

People have healed their adrenals on the iodine protocol without those last two items, with

just the additional salt and vit C. Or, with just Isocort or other dessicated whole adrenal but

not the pregnenolone (and obviously that's not a good choice for you).

I haven't done a test for adrenal fatigue, but i feel like I've had it for years. Wow a whole tablespoon of salt?! How did you take it? Alone, in food, or in water?I'm taking vitamin c, maybe 2g a day but I can up it. What kind did you take? Was it a high quality kind? How did you get your adrenal fatigue diagnosed?Sorry about all the questions...I'm getting desperate...I can barely function and I have a 6 year old who needs me.len From: Baker <vbaker@...> iodine Sent: Monday, February 13, 2012 10:16 PM Subject: Re: New member--success stories?

You need to treat the adrenal fatigue. I treated both at the same time. Yes, the iodine revs

up your system and that can play up the adrenal exhaustion more, but the solution is NOT to

wait on iodine but to do both. I had been treated for the adrenals by a Functional Medicine,

was making those visits feasible, so I was on my own. I found the iodine protocol, got advice

There are any number of dessicated adrenal products OTC. I don't have

experience with

any others, but there are many choices.

I took the salt in glasses of water, throughout the day. Also, additionally

liberal use on food.

But only UNREFINED salt.

I have been using Ester C which stays in circuluation for 24 hours. I really

like it and it's

available everywhere.

I took the saliva test where you have 4 swabs that you do throughout the day at

speciified

times, as someone else was describing. No other test is valid. The Functional

Med MD told

me it was the worst result she'd ever seen.

So if I can heal as I've described, I know others can too. But, with your ca dx

you really

should be getting iodine-literate nutritional advice from an ND, someone who can

oversee

your program but who is WILLING to help you with the iodine. You need it. btw,

so does

your daughter.

I have no private health insurance so there has been no test - and none of the doctors I have attended believe in 'ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY', in fact my GP basically said that if my adrenals were exhausted I would be dead.

Likewise only the doctor at the women's health centre is anything like supportive of iodine supplementation - and that is only because she has seen the sites where my ulcerations have healed since I commenced iodine supplementation.

I had informed her that I took two courses of antibiotics which did stop the ulcerations from getting worse, but did not heal them.

Basically I SEARCHED for information about adrenal insufficiency as I saw so much posted here about it - and identified with many of the symptoms.

The herbal preparation seems unlikely to cause me problems, at worse it may be a waste of money, but it contains herbs like ashwaghanda which seem to be adaptogens.

My daughter has a form of IBS, and has had a colonoscopy etc which indicates some inflammation but little else, so I have offered to let her try the herbal supplement, and I am hoping that it does help her. When she has an attack she often has to be hospitalised.

So you took a tablespoon in water in addition to salt on your food? len,

I had some fast results for my problems (fibrocystic breast disease) and very

slow results for Hashimoto's disease. I got rid of my breast tenderness in the

second part of my cycle after six weeks. I had been putting progesterone cream

on them for years with no results.

I have had a reduction in my breast lumps but they are still there after nearly

2 1/2 years on iodine. They take a long time to go from what I have heard from

others, but it is worth getting rid of them in the long term. It took me nearly

two years to reduce my Hashi abs. Keep going. If you think you have gut

issues, go gluten free. I think that is what caused me to have sudden progress

with my Hashi ABs. I am very glad that I have persevered with iodine. My

mother died of BC in both breasts at 51 and she was already ill with cancer at

my age. I was OK at my last scan. Keep going, you are getting better from

something very serious and it will take time.

Yes, that's how I took my salt. Actually more than that during the height of

it, because my

body wanted it. It took about 3 months before I got better. Your sleep habits

won't affect the

test.

While we do cover adrenals on this list, we don't want to get too far afield

talking specifically

about adrenals here, all of us have to remain disciplined about focusing on

iodine. With

6,000 members, it would be easy to have hundreds of emails a day, which would

not be

workable for anyone.

Hi ,

LDN is another therapy which is given no respect. In fact most general practitioners will not prescribe it, especially as PubMed seems to have little or nothing to say about it.

I think my daughter may become more interested if I can get my neurologist to prescribe it and if it does some good - but then she would need to find an open minded practitioner.

Not an easy thing in Australia.

I didn't take as much salt as (I took 2 tsp/day) but this is how I did

it (and would do it again!).

I decided how much water I should be drinking in a day and poured it into a

bottle, into which I added my whole day's worth of salt, Vit C (powder) and mag

(I take a liquid...yuck. In 2 litres of water you can't taste it though). This

actually made a pleasant drink. Sometimes I'd add some lime juice for flavour.

Some days I'd live dangerously and add Crystal Lite but mostly I drink it plain.

I had no problem with getting the salt or Vit C down that way, and I would pour

the mix into a smaller bottle if I had to go out, so I didn't have to worry

about dosing while away from home.

Most importantly, I think it has helped a lot.

len,Start with a small amount at one time followed by or in water. For some, putting the whole amount in water will cause you to be nauseous. So start small and use it several times in one day. I just take a pinch at a time and follow it with a few drinks of water. Works well for me. Drinking it all at once makes me nauseous.

Oh, I'm sorry. I order mine through www.unitedpharmacies.com and make up

the liquid from the tablets. Don't have to have Rx. Put naltrexone in the

search

box. I can send you a sheet I have (offlist) on how to make and use the liquid

at

home.

btw, like iodine, I'm convinced that the reason LDN doesn't get more respect

and use is because it's super cheap and effective. That doesn't fit the bill

with

Western medicine.

But let's leave this discussion from the list for now since it's off topic--

write me

offlist if you want more info. vbaker@...

Sorry, I live in France and do all this in French and I can't remember what they

are called because it's getting late here but they are not cancerous. Because

my mother had a similar history to me of having " lumps " , I am very careful about

lumps of any sort.

If you have gut inflammation you could also try Low Dose Naltrexone.

I get mine there as well, been on it for about 4-5 years and never had a script for it. It is easy to do.

One time when I was talking to my (then) Neuro about it (I have MS) he said "well, if it is so cheap and so effective, why has it not been approved for MS?" I said "Doc, you just answered your own question." And he had to agree that that was probably it.

Hi len and ,

Not all breast lumps are cancer.

In my own case I was found to have 35 breast lumps, so the specialist did a fine needle aspiration which showed they were benign cysts, probably hormone related.

Although I did expect them to disappear at menopause they were still very noticeable until I started the iodine drops.

Loretta,

One of the big questions I've come to as I've stayed with this e-mail group is

the whole cleansing thing, how to unblock detox pathways. If you wanted to go to

IodineOT & tell me more about liver/gallbladder/digestive cleanses, I'd really

appreciate hearing the details.

Thanks,

Be sure that your B-12 level is where it's supposed to be. Intestinal problems
