[MAP] :-) But I've never once participated in a chat room and I expect to go the rest of my life without doing so, so don't worry!! I'm not knocking it; it's a neat discourse register, but it's absolutely not my cup of tea. I don't even use my telephone more than about once a month on average (rare situations). I've never IMed or texted anyone, or any other new-fangled (to me) nonsense. I'm strictly old-fashioned; I do everything in person or via email. While I'm at it here, rambling about my informational lifestyle, in case I've never mentioned it on this list, I haven't watched TV in about 13 years... I could use my fingers to count the number of times I've read a newspaper in my life... I have never downloaded or played an mp3... I've never owned a cellphone.... I don't have a website or a blog... Also, I'd never complain about abbreviations, as they would generally be valid, and likely even beautiful (in a discourse-theoretic way), relative to that specific discourse register. We have scheduled chats on Monday and Friday night at 10:00 PM Eastern time and on Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM Eastern time. But if you ever feel like chatting, you can always post a message to the board asking if anyone else feels like chatting. I usually got the monday and friday PM chats but tomorrow I am celebrating a co-worker's pregnancy with her so I won't be there. but a lot of other people will so definitely stop in. The evening ones are more populated or so I'm told. I can never make the Monday afternoon. We send out reminders on all of them. If we set it up in the evening at 9pm EST for an hour or so it might give the people on the West coast time to participate and still not run too late for those of us needing to get up in the morning in the Eastern time zone. Just check your Messenger List to see if I'm online. To get me on your list, first you sign up on www., Messengers.You have to add my addy wmsren97@... to your list.
