Guest guest
I was just reading a website the other day that recommends putting your Lugol's in ACV...I personally cannot do ACV but my teenage daughter takes a shot of ACV with water before she goes to bed and first thing upon waking, so I'll probably just start putting her Logol's in there . I have to say that ACV is amazing!! Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, Yep, I got it from Dr. Jarvis' book. I still would use water. Don't think I want to change the taste of my carrot/veggie juice! Thanks. Nonie Hi Nonie, That’s how Dr Jarvis in his book, Vermont Folk Medicine, suggests taking it. Taking it in carrot/apple juice is how they recommend it to those on the Gerson Therapy. It's been suggested not to take it in citrus juice. But vegetable juices are fine. Guest guest
Hi Lindsey There could be any number of things that could cause those symptoms. Candida comes to mind- also being deficient in digestive enzymes- have you ever tried to address those issues? Have you been tested by a naturopath? Guest guest
It's only because of vit C that juice is ever an issue. Vit C does convert the brown iodine into the clear potassium iodide-- there are scientific articles claiming so and I've tested it out here at my house, so I think that is true. Otherwise juice is not an issue. I have put it in pomegranate juice and cranberry juice, both unsweetened pure juice. They stay darkened by the Lugol's so I believe they pose no problem. -- >Hi , > >I take mine in water w/a tsp. of ACV. I used to just take it in water, >but, the acv seems to make it easier to take. I will call Dr. Ahner and ask if he tested for this when he did my blood work a month ago. We tested for a lot of things and levels. I the test given conclusive? You know so many have a huge margin for error. I take a lot of digestive enzymes now but they dont seem to be helping much. Yes, Please email me the recipe. SOunds delish! thank you. Guest guest
Lindsey, You may not have enough enzymes in your body to digest food properly. I take a digestive enzyme before I eat anything, and it has greatly reduced the gas, cramping and loose stool that I chronically had. It was because I couldn’t digest fats. I get the Rainbow Light brand Enymend. Any suggestions for if one has been gluten, soy and dairy free for over 6 months? I still have bloating, gas and abdominal pain when I eat. I want to eat but when I do I am always sorry. I am trying Apple Cider VInegar - Bragg's 2 tbsp after each meal to try to help this as a homeopathic remedy, but it doesnt seem to be helping either. Any suggestions? Thank you. The fact that you are still having pain despite eliminating gluten suggests that your body is still reacting to something. Often those of us who have gluten intolerance also have a dairy intolerance. It's a bummer but you adapt! I just made the yummiest gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate pound cake for my kids' birthday dinner. No one will ever know it wasn't my original recipe which contained both regular flour and milk. Interestingly yesterday I was reading an article by Dr Brownstein on Crohn's and dairy intolerance. He says that it takes a full 6 weeks of being off dairy to eliminate symptoms. You might want to give it a try. One last thing- remember not to use soy products as a diary replacement! God bless! Guest guest
I eat hard cheeses and yogurt. With crohn's I have to eat a low fiber, low fat low residue diet. With celiac's no wheat(gluten) barley or rye. I eat fresh fruits, fresh vegis or steamed and meat and fish. That is it. I bake with gluten free flours, brown rice, fava, tapioca and etc. I bake once or twice a month and it is usually brownies for that once a month craving I get.I was told unfortunately I have both diseases and I found that my body loves uncooked vegis and fruit probably because I don't cook the much needed emzymes in them. And once in awhile I will drink a big glass of milk. If I could I would drink raw milk but I haven't been able to find any yet. Dairy doesn't upset my stomach at all. What does hurt my stomach is wheat. Pizza crust, breads and the like. I'm also 0+ blood type so my body can tolerate corn but I rarely eat it. To me there isn't a lot of nutrients in corn. But with crohn's it doesn't matter what you eat. It is still going to come out of you at the speed of light no matter what you eat. The one good thing about this is I'm down to 135 lbs. I use to weigh 180 as of a year and half ago. I was one to keep eating all day just to keep weight on because the food came out as fast as I could put it in but no one put two and two together until I had testing done for celiac's. The tests came back negative but when a biopsy was done that told the hold story. They say that 80% of the people that have celiac's don't know they do so because they have little or no symptoms but it causes cancer and that is when it is too late. from IllinoisFrom: Donna Iler <Donna@...>"iodine " <iodine >Sent: Fri, October 29, 2010 9:54:05 AMSubject: RE: Re: Interesting price comparisons Lindsey, You may not have enough enzymes in your body to digest food properly. Guest guest
Here is a post I found on CureZone about pH and iodine. I take my Lugol's with apple cider vinegar now because it helps balance pH. I wish I had done this when I was taking Iodoral. http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=901537#i I googled iodine and pH and found this but I can't be certain if it applies because I don't have a background in chemistry but it might be helpful someone. I would love a bonehead explanation of this paper. The glutathione piece is of high interest also because people with lyme have problems with it. http://www.jbc.org/content/236/6/1716.full.pdf Joan > > > > > > > > > > > > So how do you take the Lugols, in water? Guest guest
here in Maine raw milk is widely available. I buy raw milk in glass bottles from a farm down the road, also eggs, ground beef and chicken. the butter is too expensive though, $6/lb.
