Colonics can be useful IF they are done right...through away speculums, no

back wash....have to be very careful...make sure its safe...and you should

have a bowel x-ray before doing them...any practitioner that tells you you

don't...run like ###. You could end up with a bowel perforation and a trip

to the hospital...have seen it happen.

I think enemas that you give yourself are much safer...and I would

experiment with them first and get a good bowel cleanser...Caprol candida

purge is a good gentle one to use...kills the varmits and detoxes at the

same time.

Take care...Byron

Has anyone tried colonic irrigation? I hear that it is supposed to remove

toxins that are encrusted in the intestinal tract due to " build up " ( tyring

not to be too graphic !)

ooops sorry.. I got this new laptop and it is making me nuts.. it keeps

sending my mail b4 I am done writing LOL.. probably thinks I talk too much !

LOL Anyway.. as I was saying.. Not so much for the yeast but to just

" unclog " the intestinal tract and perhaps help out with constipation and

become regular. I read somewhere that normal folks have 3 bowel movements a

day !!!!!! I don't think I ever had three bms in one day in my entire life

!! Just thought I'd give it a try . The last time I tried several yrs ago.. I

remember nothign came back out cept for the same water, garlic and

acidophilus they put in.. I felt very toxic.. maybe I should have just kept

it up, it just felt too uncomfortable and the nurse that administered the

colonic scared me cuz she told my doc that my colon was becomming inflamed.

That scared me and I stopped.I thought maybe I would totally mess up my

colon. I have a friend who went on this yeast diet and had to do enemas all

day and night and ended up in the hospital and her colon got all twisted up

and had to have 5 feet of colon surgically removed ! YIKES .. sounds scary

and I know I am crazy for thinking of trying it again , but some folks swear

it has made them feel better, so I think I may try it again & see how it

goes, if it becomes too uncomfy I will just stop.

Wish me luck please : )

and btw.. I do have Dr.Crooks book " the yeast connection " and I also

have the cookbook " Its a great book , very informative ! Thanks for

reccomending it : )

Many of my patients have had success with in-home enemas, usually a series

of enemas. They are inexpensive, can be done in private or with home nurse

to teach you, and a series of modest volume enemas can be quite effective.

For major impaction and other colon problems of a major nature, of course,

there is a place for colon therapy by a colon therapist.

Also, I often give myself an enema if I am ill. I read

somewhere that illness indicates the body is having

difficulty with elimination, so an enema is a good

idea. If I am sick enough to stay home from work,

then I often do an enema. I think it does help

with getting the illness to clear a little faster

[but not a miracle cure]. The advantages for me

are that an enema is free, and I don't need to

go anywhere or make an appointment.

Kay: the castor oil taste wasn't that bad or strong. My Dr. had me buy

my own colonic board. I place a chair about 2 feet away from the T. bowl,

place the colonic board over the Toilet, it has 1 hose going thru the board

which you insert into you, which leds to a 5 gallon bucket where the water is

& the hose is attached, & you relax, read a book & it takes about 1/2 hr.

they run around $350.00 with shipping. The Dr. recommended me getting my own.

if you go for a colonic they run $75.00 & up & more than likely you'll need

more than one. My husband tried it (he has always been constipated) he was

really surprised with his energy after 1 week. I gotta run, going on vacation

but we'll be back Friday evening & i'll check the news. everyone have a good

week! Mogdrmom

one of the hidden benefits of colonics is that when the water is discharging

into the toilet, you form an electrical link with the collective unconscious

through the use of the sewer matrix. also, it helps to get more waste out of

your colon than enemas

hi, a colonic is much more complete in cleanning your colon than an enema.

i have one once a month and i am Clean when its done. ilt is also so much

easier to let the therapist do all the work. mine massages the colonic

around with each fill so that all the stuff is eliminated from my colon. why

be imtimadated with an enema? just relax and dont fight it and you will find

them to be the next best thing to a colonic. write me if you have other

questions. fred

My

bowel and contents were so dehydrated, that it was this causing the pain

every time my bowels start to move each day. I have only had this pain

while being on this candida diet, so my "diet " is causing all sorts of

problems in my body. I drink lots of water, but am not getting enough

fibre. What can I do. I am too scared to have another one until I correct

this problem.

,

I wanted to mention something about this when I first responded, but thought oh why bother her with this. Well, I'm so sorry I didn't.

I have had several colonics while on this diet and all I can say is that it makes a huge difference when I take a product by Nature's Sunshine called Bowel Detox. My herbalist suggested I take up to 20 during the course of the day, prior to the actual colonic. She warned me that I would feel really bloated, but that it would make for a much more productive session the next morning, plus by the time the colonic was over with, all that discomfort from the pills would be gone. So, I tried it and literally stuff flew outta me.

Consequently, on a couple of occasions when I was unable to take the pills in such quantities, I truly suffered excrutiating pain, so much so that I felt I would throw up and pass out. Now, I'm sure there are other products with similar ingredients as Bowel Detox, so if you don't have access to that particular product, you can substitute something else. BTW, if you go to the website, you can look up the product's ingredients, which I now contains, among other things, bentonite clay. Another thing I noticed was that when I used their Clean Start (I think that's the name) that I was having much more bms, and it was apparent that they contained massive amounts of fiber (floaters). And, when I had a colonic, after taking this product, I found I had little to clean out of my colon, and had very little discomfort. It got to the point that I felt I didn't need the colonic sessions nearly as often as I had been getting them, in the past, but once I stopped taking clean start, and waited about a month to get another colonic, I was all clogged up again.

Hi ,

I dreaded colonics when I first started getting them b/c of the pain. I was

so backed up that, like you said, it was painful. For years, whenever I ate

something that didn't agree with me, I would get cramps that came on in

waves (kind of like you said it felt like labor, although I've never

experienced labor so I can't say for sure :o) ) but they would build and

build until I was screaming in pain and couldn't even move, let alone walk.

The colonics brought back a bit of this same kind of cramping, although not

as severe, thank heavens. Also, I would get horrible burning, so that it

felt like I was passing battery acid. This, combined with near-faints,

extreme nausea, cold sweats, etc, didn't make the experience enjoyable.

However, once my naturopath explained what was happening [cramping - years

of build up moving through the colon, burning - feces that sit in the colon

for long periods of time become extremely acidic, the nausea/fainting -

getting all that old stuff churned up again temporarily gets toxins flowing

to the most immediate areas to the intestines, namely the stomach (nausea),

liver/pancreas/adrenals (I'm assuming these have something to do with the

near faints), etc] and things got easier, as she promised they would, it

wasn't so bad. Now I dare say I quasi-look forward to them, simply b/c I

feel so much better afterwards. To anyone who hasn't gotten colonics, from

what I've heard, cases as extreme as mine aren't very common; most people

feel much better, after they get used to the odd sensation of a prolonged

enema. I don't want to scare anyone. :o) But things did get easier, and

it's definitely worth it. This message is a little longer than I had

intended, but yes, , I know what you mean. :o)

Last winter I had a virus that settled in my colon. It was like I diahrrea

but only large balls of blood came out. Not wanting to take

a ton of drugs, I did what my nurse daughter said to do. Take something

as if I had diahrrea then start with my natural stuff. I took 1 dose of

immodium.

I drank aloe vera juice and used capsules I made up with

2 parts golden seal

1 part myhrrh

and some cayeene pepper added in. (cayeene is very healing to intetinal

tract)

Sometimes I would put in slippery elm in my juice.

It took a couple of weeks but I healed very well. And it was scary in the

beginning.
