Interesting thought about astrological influence :) I myself am an

astrologer and have just recently started ER. Being a type O on an A diet

for so many years did nothing but worsen my PCOS, thyroid (actually once had

my temp as low as 94) and overall bleh feeling. Now that the dairy/refined

sugar/corn and wheat have disappeared I feel a heck of alot better...I'm a

Libra sun/Cancer asc (hour of birth sign) and Aquarius moon...

Welcome Nanci!

Could you please foward your info for your group to me so I can add it to

the list of Vaccine Groups across the world.

Look forward to seeing you post!

List Owner of Vaccinations and Vaccine Info

www.geocities.com/mom2q (my work in progress!)

Mom of two great kids who are vaccine free!

New to group

Hello everyone! I thought I would take a few moments to introduce myself.

My name is Nanci and I'm from the Grand Rapids area in Michigan. My husband

and I have chosen not to vaccinate our children (Dante who is almost 2 1/2,

and another one due mid January) because of extensive research that I did

while pregnant with my son. I came to believe that basically the germ theory

was just a great excuse for the modern American medical institution to

inflict upon us whatever they see fit. And believe me it took awhile because

I was a biology major in college with hopes of becoming a doctor one day.

Walene ' book explains this in great detail and is pretty lengthy but

worth the read.

I started to wonder how I was going to deal with schools, daycare, other

people wondering why we don't vaccinate and thought that if I had these

questions I knew that there had to be other people with the same questions.

So that is how Vaccine Informed Parents came to be born. I started this

group last October and the response has been tremendous, especially by word

of mouth. Right now we are a small group of mothers who get together 4 times

a year to talk about vaccine issues, and other topics on how we can keep our

immune systems up. Basically we are a group where people can come to to get

alternative information on vaccines, as well as the information that the

health department and doctors put out so that they may make an educated

decision regarding their family's health. So the current topics on how to

advise parents who are unsure about vaccination are right on the money for

me. It's amazing that people don't know they have a choice! I will be

eagerly reading all future posts on the list, and can't wait to dig into the

archives! So happy to be here, Nanci

Anne, Where in Kentucky do you live? My husband, two daughters and I

live in Lexington - also quite doctor/medical establishment oriented. It

seems like several folks on this list are connecting with others in their

area; depending on how close you are, perhaps we could do the same. My

oldest (now 5) had a few vaccinations before I got up the guts to say no!

- and my youngest (2) is completely un-vaccinated. We're also expecting

babe #3 in late October with no plans to vax. Look forward to hearing

from you! -Gretchen

Sorry I am just now reading your email.. it's been a crazy week.... my

grandmother passed away so we have been busy running back and forth to the

funeral home.. She was 91, and lived a wonderful life, but funerals are

always hard..

I am enjoying the snow... although it is suppose to go up to 50 degrees

today, so I'm sure most will be gone by tomorrow!

Again Welcome...

Welcome Tom! Just wondering if you have you been tested to see if the combo

treatments are making an impact on the virus? Are you able to work?

You will find this is a nice group of people, and you may learn more from the

folks here than from your dr. We did. Good luck. Tree

hi karen and welcome to the list.

so glad that you decided to look into the issue of vaccines--i, too fell upon it just by going with my gut instinct--wasn't really looking to stray away from the mainstream--but, alas, i have--and i stray further from it each day now!! :o)

you may want to just skip the "well care" visits--if you feel confident in that, as your little guy seems to do be doing just great--why do you need to go in for a dr visit anyway, if all is well, right? it's just that well care visits are primarily there to administer the vaxes, so when you aren't doing them, the visits tend to get a little tough...

you are so right in questioning why that dr's patients would have to be treated in any way--don't they feel confident in the vaxes they are administering? it just goes to show you that vaxes aren't foolproof--in fact, until i see proof that they work at all, i will always doubt their efficacy.

hope all continues to go well for you and your family and congratulations on making an informed decision about your sons health--not just going along with the crowd without thinking about these things!!

hope you learn a lot here!!

Welcome ,

Who knows what angel whispered in your ear to look at vaccines! But you did!

You will have lots of support here.

I can't believe the nurse didn't get it when you said what you did. Blind!

Glad you are learning homeopathy.

Where are you from? Do you need the names of some classical homeopaths

near you?

I have been studying homeopathy since 1981 informally including 1 year

formally and will continue, hopefully, this fall.

Welcome! I joined this list last summer and have found it to be an

INVALUABLE resource - not just for vax info (grin) but for other health

related topics as well; Dh and I recently went macrobiotic thanks to list

members raving about the benefits (they were right!) I've been married

almost 7 years and have 3 girls; the younger 2 are totally vax-free, the

oldest got 2 series of shots before we began our investigation into the

" vax industry. " You are wise to think BEFORE you jab! And I agree with

Bridget on the well-baby visits, we skip them, too - we have a homeopath

to call in case things get really rough, other than that I do all the

weighing/measuring and treat minor illnesses at home with food, herbs,

and homeopathy. Hope you enjoy the list!

Hi ...so happy to hear that you have decided to become involved in the

health decisions of your child, and not just leave it up to the doctors. If

everyone were to research and check out all the decisions the doctors make

for us, we would have much fewer surgeries, fatalities and incorrect

diagnosis'. It is so wonderful that you and your husband do not bow down to

the pressures that doctors know best. They only know what they are taught

(which changes all the time), and what the pharmacutical companies tell them

(my sister used to work for Merk, as a sales rep, and the doctors are

basically totally uneducated about any of the medications, except for what

the reps tell them). Anyway, best wishes to you and yours, and glad you have

joined us. There is alot of good information here...Sharon, Quakertown, PA

Hi. My husband did the combo too. When do you do your shots? My husband did

them about one hour before going to sleep at night and he managed to sleep

through the side effects. He tried doing the shot in the morning and it was

awful. By doing it before bed he avoided experiencing the side effects.

Hi all: I am new to this group. I am undergoing the combo treatment

now and am suffering the side effects like most. Severe headaches,

fatigue, chills, and body aches. By reading the posts of others I

find that I am not in this alone. All the symptoms of this disease

seem to be shared by others. I hope this letter finds all of you

doing well.

With good thoughts, Tom

Welcome, Tom. This list has been pretty quiet lately. Are the symptoms you

describe from the treatment or the virus? My husband, who is not on

treatment, has night sweats, chills, fatigue, and body aches. Tree

Hi , Welcome to the group. You'll like it here. This is my humble

opinion and always will be. Yianni should stay in his home school. Yes,

you can push this legally and yes you should. Why should he have to go

through more loss just because the teachers and administrators refuse to

obide by the law and get some training to do middle school inclusion.

is in his neighborhood school in regular ed. 4 out of 6 hours a day.

He is pulled out for some academics, very few life skills (too young in my

opinion) and speech. I don't know where you're located. I hope it's in the

US or I am wrong in everything I just said. I can tell you more about

's program if you want to know. Email privately if you do.

Green's daughter Kathy had inclusion in middle school and I believe there

are a few more.

Hi ,

Many of us have been teaching school districts all along how inclusion

can/should work. In my case, we requested that the school my son was going

to be attending #1. Hire an inclusion specialist. #2. Provide inclusion

training for the staff. #3. Have monthly inclusion meetings where we

discuss what's working and what's not, etc.

I still have 2 years before I have to worry about the middle school issues,

but I am already biting my nails!

You sound like me when I was your age. I got worse

and worse until I was disabled at 53. I'd never had

back surgery though. From age 53-59, I progressed

very fast until I was bend over so much, my internal

organs were affected. Doctors kept giving me handsful

of drugs for all the symptoms. After locating this

forum, I located a srs. specialist. My top curve had

gone from 64 in 1977 to 94 in Mar. 2000. Last Oct., I

had surgery and now I'm off all those medicines except

for pain pills. In a few weeks, the plan is to start

weaning me off them too. My advice--find another

doctor--one who specializes in adult scolosis. Mine

had got into kypho-scholosis and it sounds like your's

could be too. I'm doing great at 60 years of age, 8

months post-op A/P T2-L5.

Dear Bac323,

From the history and symptoms you've described, it sounds to me

as though you are suffering from flatback syndrome. I am NOT a doctor but I

did have flatback and had surgery for it in Paris last October. I'm 56,

female, had Harrington surgery in 1977 and some other revisions afterwards.

It was the original Harrington surgery that flattened out the spine on the

sagittal plane and threw me off balance, causing pain and the inability to

stand up straight. After this latest operation I am finally straight (in

fact, the surgery gave me an extra inch and a half in height!).

I can understand how sick you are of seeing doctors (I went to 6

on 2 continents before finally deciding to go through with the surgery),

but I really think you should see one of the revision specialists. The big

names in the USA include Drs. Bradford and Hu in California, Dr. LaGrone in

Texas, Dr. Kostuik in Baltimore, Dr. Boachie in New York and Dr. Rand in

Boston. This list is certainly not exhaustive.

I want to warn you again that I am NOT a doctor, and that there

are others on the list who can - and I hope will - explain more clearly

what flatback syndrome is. I would suggest that you bite the bullet and see

one of these or another adult scoliosis revision specialist. To my

knowledge, surgery is the only treatment for flatback syndrome. Good luck

and stay in touch.

Best wishes,

from Italy
