First thank you Marie and for your advice. I am going to

have the sugery perfomed on scheduled date of Dec 15th. I assume

most everyone going into sugery is nervous and scared. As I

mentioned before I have a long habit of not seeing Doctors on a

regular bais, however, with my advancing age, (38),lol, I will have

to change that habit. No worries about deciding not to have it done

as I have read almost every post here as well as visited most of the

links provided. I do understand the complications of not having

this sugery done.

I must admit after looking at the photo scection I did experience

some hesitation. However, anyone going through this must bear in

mind that it on the large scale is not a really big deal. There is

a lot worse things that a person could be forced to go through in

life.

This is however a rather impressive resourse for all of us, and I

hope that I can contribute some useful information soomeday.

My wife appreciates 's and Marie's helpful scolding to push

me forward.

Any time! LOL! I think that Mark would appreciate you referring to my insight as "helpful scolding"!! I'm sure he thinks otherwise.

I am glad you are going to go through with the surgery. This sight is wonderful. I found it a few months ago but I have dealt with C-toma since I was very young. The problem I had was the fact that I wasn't diagnosed until I was 13. My first surgery was a CWU removal attempt at age 14. Within a year I had a recurrence and had a CWD at age 15. My hearing bones were erroded but the C-toma was gone. I am 24 now and have had no recurrences since the CWD. I did, however, have surgery this past August to repair my ear drum (tympanoplasty). I am scheduled for a 6 month post-op visit for February; in that visit we will discuss prosthetic implants. This surgery I actually look forward to!

I'm not a big fan of going to the doctor (unless it's to take one of my kids) but I honestly don't mind seeing my ear doc. He is very skilled at what he does. The cleanings actually make me feel better because to me, it's similar to taking a shower every day - you know you're clean!

The staples / stitches look awful in the pics posted and having them isn't exactly fun, but it's also not as bad as it looks. I am not one that has a high pain tolerance so I take the pain meds as prescribed. Doing so helps take some of the edge off. I wish you luck in your quest and be sure to keep us posted on how it goes. If you have any more quesions be sure to ask. Someone in this group will surely have an answer for you.

Wow. Good for you to pursue this so relentlessly and to question the various diagnoses. It is just outrageous that we parents have to wing this on our own when all we wanted to do was have our babies.

A couple of comments: first, I am shocked a homeopath would suggest allergy shots, or predict a lifetime of homeopathics meds. They do not sound like true homeopaths to me at all. Good you got away from them. And I'm so glad you didn't let any of the other doctors take out her body parts!

Second, I think you are absolutely right that the vaccinations set her off on this path to ill health. But in answer to your question how could a breastfed baby get leaky gut, one way is antibiotics. Not the only way (I didn't see that she had any early on) but no doubt they made it worse. I also experienced failure to grow in my youngest after being on antibiotics for repeated "infections." I worried for years he would be puny, and I had three older boys to compare him to. Happily, he is now known as "Big Will" by all his coaches!

Keep in mind that antibiotics tell the body to stop having symptoms, that they will take care of whatever it is, including if it's only allergies. It then looks as if they're cured, then boom. It's back, or something else is. Anyway, you did a great job and thanks for sharing your story. No doubt it will help other parents who are experiencing this.

Hi Winnie and everyone,

I read your post today and what really caught my attention is your

concern about your son not growing. I have 5 children and 4 of them

are average to tall, more towards the tall spectrum. My husband and I

are also tall. However, my 6 year old is small and it seems to me like

he is not growing as much as he is supposed to. He is very athletic

but so small. Now, unfortunately, he has received all of his childhood

shots before I knew any better and stopped vaccinating my youngest

ones. He has also received his share of antibiotics (in the womb as

well as out) and steroids for pneumonia when 13 months old. I have

never heard of antibiotics affecting a child's growth. I would love to

hear your input and your knowledge about this. All other comments are

welcome as well:)

I then found a Homeopath, chinese medicine, intestinal specialist and suggested to him that she had intestional permeablility, hence all of the allergies. He agreed and gave medicine to heal her intestine- she in fact had leaky gut.

(By the way- Can anybody tell me how my breast fed organic baby got holes in her intestine???!!)

After 3 months of this medecine, all allergies gone- but she still could not breath through her nose. The sinus remedies were failing. The Dr appologized to her stating that he did not know what was still wrong with her, she was immunodeficient. Then told me that she needed to have her adenoids out as nothing else was working.

Next came the blessing in disguise. came down with tonsillitis! After trying many of remedies, she got worse and I very relunctantly put her on antibiotics- still taking meticulus care of her newly healed intestine under the Dr.s care.

Now, she is healed! She is humming and laughing, letting air gleefully pass through her nose. She is smelling flowers and scents and enjoying her sences, she is cured!

In conclusion, I now believe that my child's intestine (and who knows what else) was compramised by the vaccination. Food was passing through into her blood stream. Her body was creating mucus to protect itself from the injury and it was spilling out her nose, eyes and ears. The mucus was then prone to infection. After her gut was healed, the infection still thrived. By taking the anti-biotic,the infection was defeated and now is singing and playing with the sensation of having air come through your nose for the first time in 3 years.

And, I don't have a medorrhinum child, allergenic child, immuno-deficient child nor does she need to have an her adenoids, tonsils or any other organ removed.

But I did have a serously sick kid from vaccinating!

Thanks Winnie! Say, I did have to take an IV of penicillian during her birth because I was diagnosed with Strep B. I was disapointed at the time that I could not have the totally drug free birth I had wanted and it is possible that dose did begin our saga only for it to manifest after being vaccinized. ( How very funny for me to then move to S. Africa, give birth to my second child and have my OB/GYN shrug and say that strep B transmitted to a newborn is EXTREMELY rare and that I don't need any anti-biotic!) had no other exposure to any pharmaseudical prior to vaccination.

Not the only way (I didn't see that she had any early on) but no doubt they made it worse. I also experienced failure to grow in my youngest after being on antibiotics for repeated "infections." I worried for years he would be puny, and I had three older boys to compare him to. Happily, he is now known as "Big Will" by all his coaches!

Keep in mind that antibiotics tell the body to stop having symptoms, that they will take care of whatever it is, including if it's only allergies. It then looks as if they're cured, then boom. It's back, or something else is. Anyway, you did a great job and thanks for sharing your story. No doubt it will help other parents who are experiencing this.

Oh, so this is very recent. Hmmm...I'd keep a very close eye for the next few weeks and if she gets sick, remember this is what often happens after antibiotics. Going on them a second time can get you sucked into that antibiotic merry-go-round. With my oldest, he had allergies and the antibiotics made the symptoms go away, making it appear that his "ear infections" were cured. Then every three weeks we were back at the docs all winter long, at which point he got pneumonia. He ended up asthmatic and allergic for a long time. It was awful. Even after this experience with him, you'd think I would have learned but I fell back into it with my youngest. It's easy to get blindsided when you're in the midst of a crisis.

So beware of doctors diagnosing future "infections" just by symptoms such as inflammation. Have a good stock of natural meds to give at the first sign of illness so you can avoid having to go to the peds. And give probiotics right now if you haven't been already.

yes it is true that antibiotics don't cure anything. Unfortunately, it appears that my search continues. She started loosing resonance in her voice two days ago and last night struggled to breath. It feels to me like she has something like a spider web that begins in her sinus and then grows out. Often she had a runny nose during the day and stopped up at night. I'm really working on feeling hopeful instead of devistated...

She takes a probiotic by metagenic twice a day as well as something called Ultra-inflamX to heal her intestine and two tablespoons of fish oil daily- per the Dr.

Fortunaely,she loves green drinks too (-:

One Dr. I found at the homeopathic pharmacy (the medorrhynim child DR.) and the allergy Dr was at a place called 'the advanced center for homeopathy.' I understood the shots to be a removal of blood, run through a desensitizing machine and then re-injected over a period of two months. I was told that the success rate is 95% but at the time I could fail to see how more injections would help....

I am also certain that she does not have allergies at this point. SCIO described it as her body is ignoring pathogens- as at this point I feel like I am boxing in the dark.
