are there many on this forum that have seen significant weight loss from being on iodine?so far I've gained weight being on it (about 4 months so far). I feel alot better being on it (more energy, less brain fog) but definitely not weight loss. I'm certain I'm still detoxing but I'd love to hear what other, long termers have to say about it.

I'm at 50 mg, just dropped down from 75 due to excessive gum/jaw pain.  Yes, it's Iodoral.~WOn Sat, Nov 7, 2009 at 8:26 AM, S <plshake@...> wrote:

Good for you Karin, I am glad you are loving T-Tapp. I have been doing it for

about 10 years and couldn't imagine doing any other workout....

to God! I have looked at her web site for months and her DVDs were pricey to me

so I kept putting it off but I finally bought it and all those stories she has

on her website appear to be true. Check it out.

I, too, gained weight, about 6 or 7 pounds, mostly in the fourth month of taking

50 mg of Iodoral. When I saw posts indicating it could be related to the

Iodine, I cut back to 25 mg about 3 or 4 weeks ago. However, I still seem to

have trouble getting the new weight off. My appetite increased in the fourth

month of taking Iodoral.

Best,

Connie

Eliminate sweets. If that is not enough, eliminate grains, not just wheat. If

that is not enough, eliminate fruit, especially juices and dried fruit.

Although what you've indicated is nutritious to me there isn't enough

bulk/roughage. The ezekiel bread and almonds are all, the rest completely

digests leaving nothing behind so your body feels empty/deprived. Cold celery

sticks = negative calories, apples lower cal than bananas or canned mandarins

(grated apples taste fine in any jello), cucumbers are low cal and a couple

sliced up with a medium tomato with a good splash of cider vinager and a level

tsp sugar chilled a few hours can be a nice little guilt-free pig out. Shoot

throw a sweet red pepper in to. Brown rice is more filling than white. We can

eat pinto beans hot or cold and chopped raw vegies mixed in makes them even more

filling. Almost all bottled dressings use soybean oil a no no. Get the package

mixes (fresh made dressings taste much better than bottled and you'll be able to

eat more salads/vegies) and reduce the olive oil, use cider vinager as white

vinager tastes crappy/cheap. It's real

important to maximize the flavors of your diet foods and to keep from getting

bored and to swap as many tastes as you can in the rotation ie try not to repeat

as it'll sour your modivations. You're trying to make diet food that others will

look at and say damn that looks good. If your creative juices or modivation

flags some one here will help jack you up.

Sharon, This is my typical daily meal:

Breakfast: one egg, greens (spinach, kale, etc), green tea

Snack: walnuts and banana

Lunch:  grass fed burger patty (3 oz) with veggie (romaine lettuce with olive

oil and lemon, steamed broccoli with ghee, or whatever is leftover in the

fridge) and a piece or 2 of dark chocolate (sometimes homemade spelt cookies or

cake).

Snack: celery or, now that kale is in season, kale ribs dipped in almond

butter.  Or maybe a compliant energy bar (Larabar or Clif Nectar).  Also, I've

been enoying tea; dandelion root or kukicha.

About once a week before dinner, I enjoy rice crackers with goat cheese.

Dinner: Some type of protein, more veggies (hopefully 2 servings) and rice (or

rice noodles).  Dessert is dark chocolate or something homemade (apple cake

made with millet and spelt or brownies or cookies made with spelt).

I very rarely eat out and gave up coffee (I used to miss it terribly).

Hopefully this helps you!

Hello sharon,

I tried eating RAW veggies,  fruits, fish, meat only for a week... it

works!  Make a variety of it ... eat one kind at a time, no cooked food at

all, no carbonated drinks, no processed food

Coffee creamer and stevia maybe worse than the coffee.

All the jello and fruit is no good. Too many carbs for weight loss.

Lite dressings are usually higher carb/sugar. Better to get more fat and

less carb.

Ex-virgin olive oil and some vinegar or lemon juice.would be good.

You shouldn't need all those snacks if you were getting enough good food.

Beef, turkey, lamb, buffalo -- instead of chicken.

How much water are you drinking?

Forgot to mention, don't worry about calories or too much fat in the

beginning.  It's better to focus on making sure you're eating the " right "

foods.

When I consume enough good fat and allow myself dark chocolate treats, it's much

easier to turn down the wheat filled junk people bring to work :)

Welcome to the new way of eating, you will love it!!!

I'm not sure I understand the logic of adding coconut oil to tea, putting it

on oatmeal, or swallowing a tablespoon daily. Coconut oil is a healthy oil

to cook with. It was used for cooking in the cultures that have used it for

hundreds (thousands?) of years (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

Vegetable oils (corn, canola, soy etc.) with their high omega 6 and low

omega 3 are not healthy. Olive oil is better, but not stable at high

temperature and releases free radicals.

Why not simply stop using veg. oils which do you harm and replace with

coconut oil when you are cooking? That way you also won't be adding calories

to your daily intake.

but if it works for a lot of people, it must work for me. What dosage do you

recommend for me(30 yrs) and for my two sons (2yr 3 mons) and 6 months

respectively.

Coconut Oil

Date: Wednesday, 27 January, 2010, 15:07

I added coco oil to my diet quite a while ago and can't say I've

experienced any weight loss solely due to the coco. oil......

I started adding coco oil for it's overall healthy benefits, but want to

add---I have used HCG for weight loss and belong to few groups on ,

know personally many people who use/have used it---it's a strict low calorie

diet for period of time without oils/fats--- they tried a coco oil experiment

while ago and many people found their WEIGHT LOSS INCREASED with addition

of about 1 TB coco. oil daily.....not with all people, but a good amount,

SEEMED TO BE AN INDIVIDUAL THING.....

also on that diet and as usual with many diets, after a period of time you

" stall " with the weight loss, and it has been found that a little coco.

oil seemed to jumpstart the weight loss again in most people, but again, an

individual thing......

I have experienced weight gain from too much coco oil.........

Blessings, Margaret

Hi, I just joined the group last week and will now jump into the conversation.

:)

According to Eat Fat, Lose Fat by Enig & Fallon, taking 1-2 tablespoons of

coconut oil in warm water or herb tea 20 minutes before

each meal helps to suppress appetite and boost metabolism. Pretty much it seems

that the majority of the book is filled with the

benefits of coconut and weight loss. I'm just getting started with it so I can't

say whether it actually works or not.
