Guest guest Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Just a comment, my Dr only subscribes prednisone when I have a flare up and while on it well I take 3 pills a day for 3 days, 2 for 3 days till I get to 1/2 for 3 days and by the time I get to the half my heart slows very bad, just wonder if anyone else experiences this. Hi Sherrie, One of the reasons I had to get off of Prednisone is that my blood pressure kept rising. Once I got off of it, my blood pressure went down to its normal range. Of course, I know that that's easier said than done, but you should try. Warren
Guest guest Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Salt causes my blood pressure to increase and it is present in a great many prepared foods. Try cutting down on the salt you use and pay attention to the sodium content of foods you buy. This may not help you but it doesn't hurt to try. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: scorn720 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Monday, November 29, 2004 6:00 AM Subject: help i have had high blood pressher for about 6 weeks now and the doctor don't seem to conserned it has me a little conserned i am on imuran plaqunial remacade predsone any ideas on how to lower it thanks sherrie

It has lowered his cholesterol as well as the Lipitor and is MUCH less expensive and no bad side effects. It is a food supplement. Read about it here http://heartdisease.about.com/cs/cholesterol/a/Nrxcol_pcol.htm Sharon

Guest guest Report post Posted November 29, 2004 sherrie, here is a website that discusses ways to lower your blood pressure with and without medication. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/hbp/ I hope that this helps you in some way. I know that one of the biggest contributers to high blood pressure is diet and exercise, the other being genetics. Let me know how this goes for you. Guest guest Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Are you taking B/P medication? Mine runs around 170/70 to190/90 that is until I take my medication (Cardura). Guest guest Report post Posted November 30, 2004 If your doctor refuses to address the blood pressure issue, get another doctor. Persistent high blood pressure, that goes untreated, can cause kidney damage, damage to your heart, and so many other things. -------------- Original message -------------- iam not no any b/p medication i am going to call my doctor today and talk to him some more sherrie> > In a message dated 11/29/2004 6:03:39 AM Pacific Standard Time,> > scorn720@y... writes:> >> > > i have had high blood pressher for about 6 weeks now and the> doctor> > > don't seem to conserned it has me a little conserned i am on> imuran> > > plaqunial remacade predsone any ideas on how to lower it thanks> > > sherrie> > >> >> > How high is it?> > Pris> >> >> >> >> > Does your pig need a brush-up in manners or obedience?> > Or bored and wanting to learn tricks?> > "Potbellied Pig Behavior and Training" book> > www.valentinesperformingpigs.com> > > > > > > >
Guest guest Report post Posted November 30, 2004 That is higher than normal. Normal is 140/90. And they have raised that from what used to be the normal of 120/80. The top number is the most important number. But most doctors know that blood pressure will be higher due to pain. I have chemically induced HBP from chemo in 1999. Guest guest Report post Posted December 1, 2004 How does low blood pressure figuer into health? I have always had low blood pressure usually 100 - 110/80 or something like that. I was told once that it meant my heart was not working as hard to move my blood throughout my body but I wonder if it also contributes to my poor circulation? ----- Original Message ----- From: Jacy Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Tuesday, November 30, 2004 9:59 AM Subject: Re: Re: help That is higher than normal. I have always had low blood pressure usually 100 - 110/80 or something like that For years my blood pressure was 80/50. I had no health problems except that I would get dizzy if I stood up too fast. Now that I am older (62) it is in the 95/68 range. I have no circulation problems. The only warning my dr. gave me about it was to suggest I wear a bracelet so that if I were in an accident the paramedics wouldn't think I was in severe shock due to my low blood pressure. Guest guest Report post Posted December 1, 2004 The systolic, or top number in a blood pressure reading, is an indication of how your heart beats, the diastolic, or bottom number in the blood pressure reading, is an indication of how your heart relaxes between each beat. Although the systolic number is important, the diastolic number is the most important indicator of how your heart is functioning, since it reflects the hearts muscles behavior at rest. Circulation is the result of combined efforts of the heart, lungs and blood vessels, therefore the heart does play an important role but not a sole responsibility for how our bodies circulate blood. Hope this helps you understand, regards and blessings, Lise -------------- Original message -------------- How does low blood pressure figuer into health?
