Strongly disagree. The primary reason to delay surgery is the risks associated

with it. Whether it is infection (officially around 2% of patients) or death

from blood clots (I have no specific data but have had two friends die or suffer

strokes following surgery). Surgery is invasive and carries risks. And, not all

joint replacements turn out equally well.
