Lindy and I have had some offline conversations. We are about 3

hours apart. You hit the nail on the head. I plan to spend the

winter getting better so I can take advantage of the summer.

Merry Christmas to everyone! I'm from central New Hampshire, scheduled to have RTHR revision on 1/23/07. It's fun to see where everyone lives, from Elaine on her Washington island (must be nice!!!) to other countries around the world. Let's all look forward to a happy and very healthy 2007.

Hi Lindy, Yes, we do have white Christmases. But you never know here. One year, we had more snow than my hometown in SW Pennsylvania. And the snowfall there is usually double what we get here. We also had a year where I never put on my winter coats. Three years ago we had a blizzard that had everyone housebound for four days. For some reason, it's easier to get the Appalachian Mountains in land during a snow -- they know how to deal with the it. I think the Virginia highway department thinks this is a southern state. Snow removal takes forever. So I love it, but not if it keeps me in for more than a day. :-) Is your surgery one month from today? Or was it moved up? Donna lindy <everyothername.istaken@...> wrote: Donna, Do you ever have white Christmases? The 5 years I lived in Charlotte, NC, they had snow once, about 2 inches, tops. OMG, no one could drive! The store was so packed, people lined up at each register all the way to the back of the store. It was

cute. I sure missed snow when I lived there, but then when I moved back to Toledo when I left Charlotte, they had an unusally snowy winter and I had to take the bus to work, walk at least a mile to and fro (;-) and I soon began hating snow, very quickly. ;-) Love and Hugs,Lindy LouRight THR 1/22/2007 Lindy, Lucky for you. It cooled down here today finally. It was a little too warm for Christmas, and here in the Shenandoah Valley, everyone was going through the usual fall and spring allergies. But the forecasters all agree that Northern Virginia, here

outside Washington, D.C, will definitely not have a white Christmas. So enjoy! Happy holidays! Donna __________________________________________________

Art, I had both knees replaced in September. I'm a knee person, but eventually will be a hippie. The hips are next -- when I can figure out how to accumulate enough sick leave again...and then again.. I'm actually thinking of returning to teaching so I can get them done over the summers of 2008 and 2009. I'm encouraged by how quickly most of the hippies bounce back. It's wonderful you're almost pain free! :-) I'm delighted to hear it. I'm past the three-month mark now, have good range of motion but still a lot of pain. That could be due to the all-over arthritis, however. And winter weather. Although it doesn't get quite as cold here in Va.'s Shenandoah Valley as it gets there. Have you had any snow yet? I may drive home next weekend to SW Pa. Have mixed feelings about the snow. Would love to see, but I don't want to have drive up or back in it. :-) Donna art michaels <art_michaels@...> wrote: Hello to another Pennsylvanian! My LTHR was exactlysix weeks ago today. donna,

teaching? what do you teach?

my daughter is a teacher; however, has taken an extended sabbatical (sp?) to have and raise babies. when her youngest, who is now 7 months old, is in school, she'll return to her career. she teaches 1st grade.

i feel the knees are more complex and this is why it takes longer to heal completely and get your range of motion back.

as far as snow goes -- i doubt very much now if we'll have that white Christmas -- it's warmer today and our ice is melting -- which is a good thing, but there is no snow in the immediate forecast. bah humbug! i wanted a white Christmas!

I want to thank you all for the responses and support of this site.

Even though I had both of my knees replaced before I found the site I

have learned a lot from all of you about the different degrees of

healing and it has made me see that my healing was more amazing than I

realized. I took a good fall about ten days ago and my whole leg is

now turning black and blue but the doctor said no damage to the tkr

thank goodness. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and those facing

surgery, chin up we are all here for support.

Hi Nikki,

I know you know where you are from, and maybe people in your country would

recognise southern NH, but I haven't a clue. Which country?
