Oh, you should have said that about how do you see patients--very funny!

I once had a ped tell me not to cry on his shoulder if my unvaxed child came down with an infectious disease (the one he just commented how he hadn't seen him all year and how healthy he was!!). I was shocked and said well can I cry on your shoulder if he dies from SIDS after a DPT shot? His response was that there were no studies to prove that. Jerk.

Cameron, in every case I have heard of, when a totally unvaccinated child has

autism, they turned out to have Lyme disease when tested properly (by IGeneX.)

treat autism as well, by treating the Lyme and other problems. Lyme disease can

be passed from mother to child in utero, even if the mother is asymptomatic.

There are many ways to treat Lyme disease--it does not always have to involve

antibiotics. But it's good to know what you are dealing with, so you can start

the research.

It is extremely common to be infected with the Lyme bacteria. But if the body

is otherwise healthy, infections can be asymptomatic. I wouldn't be surprised if

your younger son was infected as well, but is healthy enough to keep the

infection in check.

Sorry for the delay in my response to you! Yes, I've been tested

quite a few times over the past 13 years as has my husband. We both

have it. Early tests are usually negative or equivocal even at the

good labs (igenex) because the body just can't make the antibodies

the tests need to see. I started out with Lyme and 3 other tick

diseases. Almost dead by the time I was correctly diagnosed because,

yes, the tests are horrible. Even the CDC says it is to be mainly a

clinical diagnosis but docs HATE Lyme almost as much as they hate

people who don't vaccinate it seems.

In severe cases or in the very early stage, aggressive antibiotics

(with herbal/probiotic support) is definitely recommended and also

treatment for any other tick disease (if you manage to test positive

but those are easier to catch on a test). I'm still on antibiotics

but just started the Buhner protocol that a lot of people have had

success with. It's an herbal protocol that can work alongside the

antibiotics.

I relapsed in my 3rd trimester despite the antibiotics (level wasn't

high enough in my bloodstream.. it was carefully monitored) and got

very sick. This is probably when the bacteria got the chance to

cross the placenta to infect my daughter. I know that our decision

to not vaccinate prior to us even getting pregnant was the best

thing we could have done for her. Wish we could have caught the

infection earlier though because she was so healthy physically, only

really showing neurological/behavioral symptoms at 2 years old then

suddenly physical ones which is when she started treatment.

Basically you need to see what is generally called a "lyme literate"

MD near you although often people need to travel quite far. These

are usually docs who have/have had Lyme themselves or have loved

ones with it so they know how aggressive and hard to kill it is,

etc. They put their licenses on the line every day to save lives and

there are still too many patients that they can't help them all.

Plus they can't take insurance b/c they are hated by due to the

aggressive treatment $$$ they prescribe. So, we are forced to pay a

lot to get and stay functional. Hopefully this herbal protocol will

get me off the antibiotics for good and also my daughter!

learning of that connection. I did hear, though, that the

test is not always 100%accurate and can say you don't have

it when you actually do.
