I e-mailed Dr. Goldberg's office some updated diet information that our

Tupelo, MS group put together last year. It has never been added to the

database. I'll be glad to share with the group. We have recipes, ideas,

etc.

Thanks so much!

Hi guys! I'm going to try to attach this and see if it will work. Ya'll

let me know. We've added a few recipes since then that I don't have on here and

we all make adjustments based on what our specific children are

reactive/allergic to. I also alternate splenda and xylitol in the recipes.

Hope this helps someone.

P.S. I just looked back over this and boy has it changed for my two. We don't

do any candy any more. We also don't eat out at any fast food restaurants

because my little ones have reacted to them all. We don't do sandwiches any

more because my youngest is reactive to yeast. I've kept those things in this

log, because most kids are not as reactive as my two. We've fought with Skyler,

my youngest's eosinophils, for years. They are just now coming down closer to

where they ought to be. We don't do any canned foods, because something they

put in there caused Skyler to react. He's also allergic to yeast and corn

syrup, which eliminates TONS of foods.

Diet is by far, the hardest thing to get under control. We've been on this road

for over 7 years now and still struggle at times.

The problem I believe is that we are " hearing " of people going off meds and are

doing fine and we see lil' clips/videos of the same people online who say they

have lived a long time without meds or stop taking their meds, but we are not

hearing multiple testimonies of people who are doing this.  So what if 5 people

in the whole wide world say they are living fine without meds... that's only 5

among hundreds of thousands.  We need to hear more REAL testimonies of people

who are not taking the meds and have not done so for 10+ years and we need to

hear that they are doing fine.  If you people are out there, I urge you to step

forward and share your testimony.  I'm so tired of this " probable " and

" heresay " talk.  I want to hear REAL people, REAL results.  Yes, I am thankful

for the few here who have posted of their success, but I want to hear a whole

lot more.  I hope to be one of them myself!  I am 4 years now, no meds and I

hope I can go on for 40

more.

It helped me when I first started taking it. I went from not getting up off the

couch to living a normal life again! I eventually increased it from 10 to 20mg.

I have been on it for 4 years and I am slowly taking myself off of it. The only

bad thing (which really isn't that bad) is that if I miss a dose my body let's

me know. It is kinda like my brain " shivers " . Scary at first but then after

reading about Lex I found it is normal. It has a mild anti-anxiety in it too.

Nothing that you " feel " like Xanax but I don't seem to worry about everyday

things like I used to. That has been positive and negative I suppose. Good

luck, Kary.

Hi Kary - It has been on the market for about 6/7 years. I have been on it for

over 5.

Yes, it does work, as much as any of them can. I had previously tried prozac,

paxil, efflexor (sp)

and had side effects; with lex i have had none, except when I took myself off

of it several months ago...felt fine for awhile and then got HORRIBLE shoulder,

arm etc. pains...and I shouldn't have gone off it anyhow with all the sh** going

on in my life.

At any rate, since I apparently am very sensitive to these drugs, this one

is a " keeper " . Good luck. I am on 20 mg/day, which is the max dosage and

also take Librium (a good old tranquilizer - mild as hell compared to Xanax)

in the morning to take the edge off and face the day.

Any other questions please ask or email me privately!

Good luck. These drugs are a good thing. Some people feel bad or

ashamed. Hell, I've had my husband die, lost my business, house

is being foreclosed, mother age 88 is needing my help 100%....and

I work for pennies at a crappy job with a thankless boss and no

benefits, no nothing......YES, some of us need antidepressants

and that's a good thing! :) Carol

I've been using it for about 2 years now and have had great results with anxiety

and depression. Very calming effect but not tired at all. Downside is if you

miss a dose you feel it.
