Mimi~~I am so glad the meds are working for you. I have not tried Savella and I don't think I want to right now. My body rejects so many different meds. I hate to keep trying them. I am taking Cymbalta and it seem to be helping me, and my body is not having a bad reaction too it. I am in the process of deleting some foods from my body, and trying to work with the pain that way. I am so very glad it is working for you though, and you are getting relief. Keeping you in my prayers.

wanted to report the first few weeks on Savella had some side effects: constipation, nausea and head aches but after 3 months it works for me.

Pain is so deep and down low I know it is there but not incapacitating ot debilitating.

I hope some of you give it a try.

Is that the spot test?

(unknown)

That's what I thought Steph. But the Doc says his pre-load test is high .94 (range: .1- .4) and that is what he is looking at. How do I convince him otherwise...and my husband lol! No Bromine testing.

I would be curious to know if you were on the generic plaquenil rather than the

brand as the generic form makes me violently ill as well, so I have to get the

brand name.  Despite what they would have you believe, the coating on the brand

is different than on the generic.

Well, hi back !! I'm sorry that it seemed to take so long to get an answer back from any of us. I believe that it's likely because there are a lot of east coasters and they've already gone to bed by the time I can usually get here too.So tell us a little about yourself. Have you found us because you suffer from Hep C or you have a loved one that does?I've known about my Hep C since about 2002. Then, I did treatment in 2004/2005; but was a Non-Responder. Now, I have just finished my second treatment and this time it was a clinical trial of the trio that is coming out. It appears that I will be Hep C free now; but, won't really know for a few months yet.So please feel free to ask

any questions at all that are on your mind. Remember, there are simply no stupid questions here. If you are like any of us were - this virus has sent you into another living sphere.Gloria

One thing that was related to ctoma for us was something called

nystagmus. It causes the eye to have strange sudden shaky movement.

since she has other eye issues, I did not realize it was related to

her ear problems, until she had a surgery where ctoma was growing on

the semicircular canals. The day after her surgery, the nystagmus was

gone. It was related, I think, to disturbance of the inner ear.

Fortunately, the surgeon caught it before it got all the way in, and

she is doing well right now.

Greetings

You sound the way I think and we are the same age and my face is much like

yours.

Cheers, Doug

(unknown)

And this is why I haven't used any cosmetics since my first wedding in 1962.

I must have chosen my parents very well because today, at 70 y.o., my skin is

almost flawless. Good genes always out. I don't do much more than wash my face

now and then. I also have oily skin, which I hated when I was younger; amazing

what oily skin can do for an old face.

The search for youth and beauty can cause such damage. I feel sorry for those

who must use " beauty " products to make themselves feel beautiful. Let it all

hang out, I say! I'm no beauty, but at my age, how many are? Bright blessings

to all!

So, . . . maybe our skin situation is more a result of the fact that

we are old enough to be brought up on REAL food . . . with no chemicals . . .

without the assistance of the " Military-Industrial Complex " ? Would that we

could get back to those days, no?

Absolutely. Poor dirt farm, Northern Alberta, 1940-56. Hardly any purchased

food. There just wasn't any money. I know that is the root of my very good

health. My face gets a liberal application of VCO almost everyday and a couple

more if I am going to be out in the sun most of the day, like the beach. It is

the only thing I have used for the sun for nearly 15 years.

Do you remember when margerine came on the market? Sure do! About the time

when we had to use USDA food coupons for meat, butter, coffee, and other foods .

.. . toward the end of WWII? I remember the coupons for sugar and gasoline but

that is about all. we made our own butter ang grew all our own

meat, grains(porridge, flour). Only remember the margerine once. Horrible stuff

and never had it again until after leaving the farm in 56.I was only a kid and

loved to punch that coloring packet and squeeze it thought the pound package of

goop to make it look like butter. And what about Rexall vitamins? The only

bought vitamins we got were cod liver oil pills at school. We would pick about 5

gallons of rose hips and dry them. Dad would run them through the cattle feed

grain grinder, the same as how we made the flour.Thirty of the little things

were packed into holes cut into a thin sheet of cardboard in the box. Imagine,

young friends, vitamins in a BOX?!?!

There is so much floating around in the brains of old people; I wish we could

pool all of that information so it wouldn't be forgotten . . .

Actually I am planning on getting back to that life style when I really retire

in a year or so.

But I digress . . .

More bright blessings to all!

Breezy has depth precep troubles, also terrible fear of heights and loud

noises. Strange tho she sits right up front at church and the amps almost

bounce up there from the Praise Team. We sit on the ground beside the ramp

at the football stadium during Special Olympics, cannot do the local dome

for Circus or music because the entrance comes in at the second level and

then goes down. The steps are closed but it doesn;t matter. She truly is

scared and I cannot talk her out of it. We have found if she is surrounded

front and back with friends and I am close that she will enter and

immediately go to the lowest level seats, but then the trouble starts with the

noise.

So we usually just don't. She does love music tho and we have found when

the good bands are at Baylor we can go to the stadium and find a security

guard who will let us enter from the field and go to the seats as far down

and far away as possible. It is just a test of our sense of humor.

Open seats like at the ball field are a no no. I really wish she was able

to enjoy more things that include sports events and high places. We have

been emergency exited off of a plane and it was really intense. I had her

tested at a local clinic for SI and then again at school, she just has a few

issues, not SI. Meanwhile we have a low level life style. But she is

worth it. She is still my joy. If anyone has funny stories tho keep them

coming, it helps to laugh.

New police are now required to have training on DD including Autism. There is

no state requirement to train existing/current officers. There is training

available out there and many Departments in McHenry County, Lake County, and a

few in northern Cook County have done that training. Ellen, remember the

presentations we had at the " work group " ? I serve on the State of Illinois

Department of Human Service Office of Inspector General over-site Board, and we

have attempted to change the requirement so that all officers receive training.

We have not been successful. The reason? Money. It would be an unfunded

mandate for local government if the state doesn't pay... and our state... well

enough said.

Hi,

I've been meeting with a group of parents of transition age

kids/young adults - mostly from ton. Someone's raised the concern

about one of our kids on the autism spectrum being stopped by the

police and not understanding the situation.

I've learned that the ton Police Dept.

currently isn't doing any training about PwD. A police commander did

offer to distribute to all police a sheet about characteristics of

people on the spectrum. We also discussed ID cards (I saw some at

www.autismcards.com).

Wondering what, if any, training is done for police in your communities. And has

anyone used such an autism ID card?

Thanks in advance.

Subject: your experience

Take it for the rest of your life. Take coconut oil as part of a

healthy diet. If one is overwight, simply adding coconut oil in to

an unhealthy diet won't do much good for weight loss.

I e-mailed Dr. Goldberg's office some updated diet information that our

Tupelo, MS group put together last year. It has never been added to the

database. I'll be glad to share with the group. We have recipes, ideas,

etc.
