Rhonda I couldnt find a doctor either. Most insurance plans count

this as alternative medicine and thats a NO NO in there book. They dont

even except chiropractic. What I end up doing is reading things that

everyone else does and then doing them myself LOL. For example the DMG

didnt do much for my daughter or son but the B-6 with magnesium does wonders

I believe in alternative medicine. My bladder infection I take

cranberry pills and it works so I know this works. I did read on kirkman

labs that DMSA works in detoxifying but also said I should be under a doctor

some things happen. What doctor ya right find a doctor! Most doctors are

so negative and confused about autism there is no way to turn. You are

further ahead then I am Rhonda. I got tired of smashing up b6 vitimans so

on payday I am going to purchase supernuthera through kirkmans labs. I

truely believe iin my heart that most of us cant find doctors alone

alternative medicines treatment plans. MOst of us self medicate our

children. Due to list serves like this one I gather information and then

try on my children. Thank goodness our lovely government hasnt tried to

control herbs and vitimans like they do other drugs or alot of us would be

introuble LOL. One thing I also learned about reading messages is if your

child does need tooth filling do not use mercury. I myself have a mouth

full of mercury. My children have no cavities and if they ever get one I

will pay extra for the other fillings. Forget mercury! charlene

-- Re: (unknown)

Hi Charlene. I live in New Hampshire but I have an HMO plan out of

Massachusetts so most doctors here won't take my insurance. However, try

as I may, I can't find a doc in my plan from Mass either. Not that I

can't find one, I just can't find one who specializes in autism.

Unfortunately, I can't afford a DAN doctor right now. I found one but he

charges 500 bucks for the initial visit and I just don't have it. It

kills me that I can't help my kid due to lack of funds. I have found a

naturopathic doctor who is reasonable, or sounds reasonable, she orders

all the " right " tests or whatever but I'm not sure where I should have

her begin. I know there are several different tests they do before you

start detoxing so you'll know what to detox for but I'm still too new to

know which ones are the most important. I'm hoping to see this woman

next week or the week after. This will come out of pocket but she's much

cheaper than anyone I've come across thus far. I asked my PCP to write a

referral for me so my HMO would reimburse us but he said I'd be wasting

my time seeing a naturopathic. He said he didn't want to see someone

benefiting from my desperation and that I'd just leave the office

spending a fortune on vitamins that don't work. I must confess, I " m a

skeptic at heart, but since I've begun the DMG I've noticed some subtle

changes. Her therapist has seen these changes as well so now my dilemma

is: are these changes due to the DMG or are they happening cause she's

almost 2 and they're supposed to happen?Either way, I don't dare stop,

just in case! Ok, I've written a book. Thanks for listening! Rhonda

Along with the supernuthera this payday I think I am also going to

try TMG. It sounds like Olivia is doing great on it. I know you have

concerns about her gross motor. I never had those problems before but I

wonder what she would do if you put her special interests high where she has

to make an effort to try to get up and wallk use her legs. I definately

have to try the TMG this payday too! charlene

-- Re: (unknown)

How old was Jen when you began the TMG? Olivia is 22 months. I heard

that the earlier the more significant changes. So far, her eye contact

has improved tremendously, she babbles like crazy, she's now taking

interest in toys and her sensory-touchy-feelly issues have seemed to

decrease. Her muscle tone still stinks though and she has no interest in

walking or standing so I was hoping this would help. (She scoothches on

her butt to get around). Do you think the TMG would be more beneficial

or is this just trial and error? Should I be giving her folic acid with

the DMG? The only other thing I'm giving her is the probiotics. Also,

the most noticeable difference with the DMG is that Olivia now allows me

to console her! That's huge. We used to have days of crankiness and

crying endlessly, that has subsided substantially.

I hear ya about the alternative health problems. It's so depressing that

we have to hold our kids back due to lack of funds or insurance coverage.

Instead of having to order the SNT online from Kirkman, I went down to my

pharmacy, which has an excellent homeopathic section (and a wonderfully

informed pharmacist) and asked them to request an account with Kirkman.

I can now drive down the street and get whatever I need with no hassles.

I think Kirkman has one of the most informative websites out there and

I'm constantly re-reading stuff on it. I started Livia on the SNT and

then took her off but I'm starting again with a lower dose. Have you

tried the epsom salt bathes? I was doing that for a while but wasn't

sure it had any effect one way or another so I stopped spending the money

there and invested with the DMG. (However, someone on here was saying

she got better results with TMG so maybe when this bottle runs out I'll

try that.) So tell me, what results where you seeing with the B-6?

No Rhonda never tried the epson baths. Results with B-6 and

magnesium..........better eye contact! My son had better eye contact and

less hyper active. My daughter seemed to be tuned into the world a little

better also she acted like she paid more attention to what I told her. One

thing though my son got diarhea and I thought it was from the too much

magnesium. I seen better results in both children. I too didnt get

results from DMG but plan on trying the TMG.

So wonderful your local pharmacy is so good they went out of there

way for you! Thats a blessing.

Well folks, I am at USC at my desk as we speak...I'll keep my eye out for

her when school is back in this fall...especially any talks she may continue

to give on campus...another SC tidbit...the law firm of Suggs & are

here in Columbia, doing great work against the pharmas:

http://www.suggskelly.com/

I have made contact on several occasions with Anders...I told her my

story and before you know it, Suggs & were amping up their drug

lawsuits...give them a look, you'll be pleased...unfortunately, my

psychiatric abuse occured in New York City, not SC...in fact, I came back

here to escape from a state that is surely a testing ground for psychiatric

experimentation...Thanks for the heads up on Miss SC!!!

Yes I heard of mold poisoning. Its when your house leaks or has

leaky pipes that are not repaired. Fungus mold after so many months forms.

These spores go into the air and have killed newborns! They make older

children and aduilts sick. In Philly there was some houses that water

leaked into basements! Water dried up but nobody bleached the place and so

dry moldy spores left into the air. The heater was in the basement. So

when the heater turned on the moldy sppores sucked up by the heater went up

into the house!

Charlene

-- (unknown)

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. Has anyone ever heard of mold

poisoning? We now believe we have a mold, serious mold, issue in our

home and we're wondering if this could be in direct correlation to an ASD

dx. I've called our state's board of health and they seem to believe

there's a link between the two. Thanks. Rhonda

Exactly!!! We live in the basement of our house, for the most part. My

question is: could this be what's wrong with my child? Is there a way

to test for it? I did want to say that after reading my initial posting

I forgot to say the mold was due to the fact we live on wetlands and

whatnot, not because I don't clean my house!

You can have a clean house but this mold is nasty! Its bacteria

feeding off wood ect. The only way to clean it is try to keep house from

leaking water into it and starting the rotting process an dbleaching what

was left in the house. Moldy spores cause respiratory problems.......

asthma, bronchitis, ect are you or the kids always sick? In infants it

caused the lungs to dry out and not absorb oxygen. Soon the lungs bled

thus doctors diagnosed SIDS and later found out what the problem was only

after there was a big epidemic. Charlene

Pattie,

Sometimes it's nice to know we're not imagining things, but I hate to hear

that ph is sick again. 's sinuses swell shut also while he is on

steroid nose spray. So, you're not alone!! I do think sometimes Sudafed on

a daily basis actually makes the sinuses worse, but that's just my two cents.

It can be too drying on the sinus tissues, causing them to swell even more.

I hope ph is better soon.

THANKS for the info!

Patti has anyone suggested a Nebulizer with inhaled meds. It really works

much better to get the meds a chance to coat the lungs. I do not believe that

kids until they have any idea how to inhale the meds until they have done it

many times with a spacer. We were not allowed to used the inhaled albuterol

until Lucas was 6. Our doc will not consider the inhaled spacers when Lucas

is sick. We only use it for maintenance and in combination with the

nebulizer. You might check back with your doc. You can rent them but it is

usually in the long run cheaper for the insurance to purchase the machine. Is

your doc an allergist, immunolisgist or a pediatrician. I know many of our

peds do not want to get kids started on the nebulizer but it makes a huge

difference to keep you out of the ER. Take is not being able to breathe very

seriously. You really need to look up the signs and symptoms of asthma and

respiratory distress . It just helps to know what to look for since

sometimes it can be subtle. BARBIE Hope little ph feels better soon.

I have been told by several ENTs not to use Sudafed or a decongestant because

you want to loosen up the secretions. It is very drying. The quafinisin on

the contrary loosens the secretions. Are you doing any saline rinses. It can

make a huge difference. BARBIE
