Guest guest Posted June 7, 2001 Report Share Posted June 7, 2001 Well Merry I try to be organized, been the only one who is around them all the time the best I can do is that way. They are growing too fast and they know a lot, I don't want to take advantage of them but they can help me in so many ways. Iam only one person and they are three if I don't start since now teaching them is going to be hard later to try to do so. Carolina and Cristian they help me a lot and when I ask them to get something or if they want something they know how to get it. I kinow you are wondering why I never talk about dad. We are separated since last october, he decided to take the easy way in all this and I didn't get the help we were supposed to get from each other. He had an affair with some co-worker and things got really bad between us. I didn't knew our marriage was in so much trouble, I thought everything was ok between us, by those days we bought our first house and I was very excited about the house, the kids. When suddenly all this hit me in my face, right now we still separated because he doesn't want to sign the papers. But I proved to myself been away from him I really don't need him, all my kids know is me. And Iam ok with that. I really don't mind share my experience with others. He was the one who did it wrong not me. To sad he is missing so many wonderful things about them. I think you are amazing having kids on your own plus running a day care wow. Seems like you are doing a good job and can handle things very well. Guest guest Posted June 8, 2001 Report Share Posted June 8, 2001 Pam, Thanks for the welcome. Your girls are right close in age to my Youngest boy, Jaykob DS, he will be 6 in Dec. Is your 20 yr old still at home. Did you know you were having twins before they were born? and did you know they would have DS? I know that I found out what I thought was a long time freind had aborted a set of twins because she was told one or both had DS. When she told me I never felt so sick in my life, and she told me this after I had adopted my son. It was sort of like her saying to me are you a fool or what. I am still so angry with her that I don't speak to her......Merry --- Pam Houser <phouser@...> wrote:

 Welcome Merry and Family. I am mom to Hannah and , ID twins with DS. In
& gt;my neighborhood there & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;is a lake and the other day we went on a picnic, I
& gt;grab my basket and put & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;some stuff in there put the kids in their wagon and
& gt;went there, we found a & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;nice area with lots of trees we sat down there for
& gt;half and hour and ate and & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;they were asking so many questions, then we played for
& gt;a while in the & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;playground, they had a lot of fun. For been in the
& gt;terribles twos they are & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;good kids. The other day I was watching the kids
& gt;playing in the front of the & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;house and we have new neighbors and they came to meet
& gt;us and they have a one & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;year old girl, she was sticking her tongue out to
& gt;Carolina and Carolina did & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;the same to her. I didn't like what I saw but at least
& gt;I know Carolina won't & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;allow nobody to mess with her. I don't know is that is
& gt;good or bad. All I & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;can say I have a lot of fun with them and never gets
& gt;tire of been around & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;them. Been a mom to triplets is good, I really love
& gt;it. And I believe to & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;been raising my kids on my own Iam doing a good
& gt;job. & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt;Mabel, mom to Carolina, Cristian and a-ds (26
& gt;months) & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;From: Merry Low & amp;lt;lowco_canada@... & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;Reply-To: Multiples-DS & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;To: Multiples-DS & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;Subject: Re: (unknown) & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;Date: Wed, 6 Jun 2001 12:07:19 -0400 (EDT) & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;Mabel, Thanks for the welcome. & amp;nbsp; So there are
& gt;two of & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;you on here that have triplets with one of the
& gt;three & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;having DS. & amp;nbsp; You must really notice the
& gt;difference in & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;dev. when you see the three together. & amp;nbsp; My
& gt;three & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;children are close together three children 92,93,
& gt; & amp;amp; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;95; I find it hard to imagine though having three
& gt;the & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;same age. & amp;nbsp; Wishing you all the best
& gt;....Merry & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;--- Mabel Aixa & amp;lt;mafalda03@... & amp;gt;
& gt;wrote: & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & amp;lt;HR & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & amp;lt;html & amp;gt; & amp;lt;body & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & amp;lt;tt & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;Hello Merry, & amp;lt;BR & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & amp;lt;BR & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt; & amp;amp;nbsp; & amp;amp;nbsp; Welcome to the list, a great
& gt;place to & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;find support, answers and a lot of & amp;lt;BR & amp;gt; & lt;BR & gt;
& gt; & amp;gt;love and caring people. As for your son, there's no reason he can't be tested now as Lyme Disease can be transmitted through the birth canal. As for yourself maybe they said your Lyme test was Equivocal meaning they can't tell if it's there or not and there's need for further testing. Pleae go get yourself and your son checked... Good Luck and keep us posted.. ~Dizzy~ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted June 9, 2001 Report Share Posted June 9, 2001 Apparently, I have been told, NV is kind of backwards in their services. Although, we have been very happy with services. Could it be we are just very vocal consumers of these services? Davey also seems to be doing really very good. We attend Special Children's Clinic in Reno. This is a state run clinic that bills our insurance for all services, but does not collect from us on anything that the insurance doesn't pay. Davey has a great Service Coordinator that comes to our house once a week. He also sees a fantastic OT once a month. We are going for a speech evaluation next Monday. Our Service Coordinator said he will probably not get to see the Speech Therapist, because of the other services he receives. Also, the class that taught sign language to the families has been canceled, because the college interns that were employed by the state have been let go due to budget constraints (I am going to make noise about this, especially since the therapist we are seeing is the one who coordinated the sign language class). So much for the new governor being pro education and pro child. We also see the nutritionist as needed, mostly for constipation issues. We do not need to go back to the developmental pediatrician, because she has so much confidence in our own pediatrician. We "graduate" from the clinic when the boys are three. At that point we go into the local school district program. I don't know a lot about this program yet. mom to Amy 13, Kelsey 11, Davey (DS) 15 months, and Will 15 months (unknown)>> Hi my name is Merry and I have 2 boys with DS and a> daughter as well. Guest guest Posted June 18, 2001 Report Share Posted June 18, 2001 My daughter and I take lecithin beads (not the gel). While I can see no outward results, it is a brain nutrient and it could not hurt anyone to supplement lecithin. You can sprinkle it in soups. You cannot really count on lecithin to make a dramatic change, but I would not give mine up for the world since I find I grow more and more inventive, creative and cunning <grin> with time. I would say lecithin is one of the things that helps me. Minc [ ] (unknown) > Does anyone supplement their ASD child with Lecithin? Guest guest Posted June 18, 2001 Report Share Posted June 18, 2001 <I have noticed that you are not taking this kind of medicines. Is it posible to treat candida without medicines (only with herbals)??? > <I have decided to buy Amphotericin B, Nystatin and Dyflucan and then take all of them for 2 months> As for myself...I can only buy herbals. Everything else I need a prescription from the doctor. And that is just too expensive for me. So I am on the herbs. Just stick to your diet and take your anti-fungals. You seem to be getting results already! Hang in there! moons Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest guest Posted June 23, 2001 Report Share Posted June 23, 2001 Thank you, I think I know what kind of pillow you are referring to, and I will try to locate one. I hadn't thought of that kind of pillow before. I had just tried a regular pillow. Thanks for the suggestion. ~Karma (unknown) >What size pillow do you use? Does it support the knee a little or a lot? I >have tried the pillow idea, but just haven't been able to get it to work >when my knee is acting up. > >~Karma Karma: I have found that a floor pillow works best for me. As we are each different I suspect that one size does not fit all. I have the Sun Harmony chi machine. My husband has used it faithfully over the las few years. When my knee gave me trouble I stopped using it and then realized I was missing the benefits so found the pillow was the solution for me. And, yes the Sun Harmony seems expensive - approx. $480 if I remember correctly. I know nothing about any other machines except what is shown on TV. They make a pillow specifically to put under your knees - I do not know if someone on the list has them for sale or perhaps it is on a web site. Guest guest Posted July 3, 2001 Report Share Posted July 3, 2001 > Is there a test that lets you know when it is gone? The only symptom > I have is Bell's Palsy and pain associated with that. I just wait > until that goes away and then it is gone???????? I have a spinal tap > on Monday to check for meningitis. Hon, isnt the Bells Palsey enough? And, it isnt supposed to produce pain, btw. You need more antibiotics, not a spinal, which shows really nothing. Or you could forget about meds and see what shape you'll be in in another 5-10 years, then get saddled with 'MS' or 'FMS' or another useless dx and be really screwed for LIFE! Guest guest Posted July 3, 2001 Report Share Posted July 3, 2001 > OK, and is there any sort of test to see if the bacteria are > irradictacted? I want to have children soon.... No, there is no definative test. Stay on abx till ALL symptoms are gone for several months. Period. Take a 'harder' abx than Doxy, something like Zithromax, Ceftin, Flagyl etc if you have a herx every month, you'll know you are still infected. A few weeks isnt enough and with Bells Palsey dang sure not enough, that means you have nerve damage and will require more, maybe months and months. Guest guest Posted July 3, 2001 Report Share Posted July 3, 2001 What I am asking is how long do I stay on the antibiotics since Bell's is the only symptom. I guess the Bell's is the only way to know whether it is gone or not if there is no other test to see if it is gone. I may not do the spinal but how long should I stay on on the abiotics??????? > > Is there a test that lets you know when it is gone? The nurse practitioner for my LLMD said I would need to stay on abx until all symptoms are gone, plus two months. I am guessing this is standard advice?
