Guest guest
Donnell there is no natural antiviral treatment for HIV,all my friends that went the natural way died a long time ago.I have been positive and healthy for 20+ years. As awful as the side effects from the medications are they are better then what is waiting for you down the road.Ask your doctor for a different regiment if possible, but you have to take your medications, HIV is imbedded inour DNA no natural remedy will help with that.Bite the bullet and go back on the meds, ask your doctor tohelp you and if doesn't look for another doctor.Mark BFrom: Donnell <hu_06_11@...> Sent: Tue, November 16, 2010 10:05:05 PMSubject: (unknown) Hey Pozhealth Group!!I've been poz for 1yr. Guest guest
Dear Donnell: Read your post. I agree with the opinion below of Mark B. Antiviral treatment is the way to go. I have been poz for 16 yrs. On and off meds due to side effects +++ Spent the last five yrs off of meds due to side effects and felt so fatigued and unwell that some days I could barely cope. My hiv specialist sent me to another hiv infectious disease specialist for second opinion. They found problems with low platelets, kidney impairment etc. They started me on a new regime of Intelence, Issentreess and Celesentri. "The cadillac of hiv meds" I was told. Been on them now for a year and a half and have had no problems at all. I mean none.. No more diarrhea running down my legs etc. Please give some consideration to antivrals you just need to find the right combination. Good luck On 2010-11-16, at 11:29 PM, Mark B wrote: Donnell there is no natural antiviral treatment for HIV,all my friends that went the natural way died a long time ago.I have been positive and healthy for 20+ years. Guest guest
Hi, Donnell,You're not alone in experiencing the side effects of Atripla (more accurately the Sustiva component of it) that you mentioned. I had bizarre dreams too and it made me groggy, not depressed. I might have liked the weight gain though had it happened to me. :-) As it was, my virus developed mutations and became resistant to it. A close friend does very well on it. Your reticence to start another regimen based on your experience with Atripla is understandable. An acquaintance who was diagnosed a couple years ago was adamant to start any drugs because of his concern of side effects. Like you, he reasoned that he had a fair number of CD4 cells and viral load and pursued physical activity in the hope of maintaining/ bolstering his immune system. He was quite adamant in his decision at which point I simply underscored the importance of doctor visits and attention to lab results. His CD4's dropped and he's now relented and doing well on his drugs. As others have already mentioned, there is no natural alternative to HIV drugs. There may be something in nature, but it's yet to be discovered. The two people you mention may be long term non progressors or have other variables that come into play of which you may or may not be aware. If you are determined not to take HIV drugs (and instead take the item from NY Buyers Club) then I encourage you to continue seeing your doctor and to monitor your CD4 and viral load with regular lab work. When you have a sudden drop in CD4's or drastic rise in viral load, please reconsider starting HIV drugs. Please also keep in mind that the longer you wait, the more compromised your immune system becomes, the more pronounced the effects of HIV on your body will very likely be. I also encourage you to continue to be a part of this forum. There is a wealth of information based on individuals' first hand experiences. Best wishes to you.JoeFrom: Donnell <hu_06_11@...>To: Sent: Tue, November 16, 2010 10:05:05 PMSubject: (unknown) Hey Pozhealth Group!!I've been poz for 1yr. I'm currently not on anti viral meds. Guest guest
,Do you have any pain or fatigue symptoms beyond this memory lapses? Do you have sugar cravings? I have had these what I call brain spikes because it feel like I am being stabbed. I had 9 illnesses at the time so am not sure which one caused it though can rule some out. For me cilantro pesto took care of that pain. You might consider making it. Also have you done bentonite or something to make sure your colon, liver and kidneys are clear pathways for toxins. Metagenics Ultra Clear Ph is good shake for liver at 5 pm after an early dinner and their advaclear capsules cut my liver enzymes in half in 3 weeks. I am thinking both these symptoms could be related to high sugar or insulin reactions. Just a thought. Guest guest
I do have fatigue, but not real pain or symptoms beyond this. I feel like all I want to do is eat -- it is driving me crazy. OK I will make cilantro pesto tomorrow. I do think this is high blood sugar now that I read your post. I used to take bentonite mixed with psyllium, grapefruits seed extract and acidophilus to take cravings away, and it worked! But I stopped since I found the lesion as my ND said perhaps the bentonite had lead in it (???) I am waiting until Thanksgiving break to do the liver detox that suggests on this site. When I was pregnant, I was at risk for gestational diabetes and ate sugar only once during the entire pregnancy, and I was in trouble right away. What does the Metagenics shake do? Is it a liver cleanse. I don't know much about the liver. Guest guest
I responded to Greg with this post but I also think that this applies to you since this is an area you are concerned about. I was falling into metabolic syndrome 5 years ago which is challenging and leads to type 2 diabetes and many other illnesses where treatment for one just makes the others worse and the whole thing snowballs out of control. Fasting blood sugar should be between 70-100. Have you had this tested recently by your GP? One option to heal that is to drink some coconut milk before bedtime. Also there is an HG diet to heal the pancreas by Dr. St. Amand. My fasting blood sugars were well over 100 and 2-4 months on the diet healed the pancreas to prevent type 2 diabetes by doing the diet perfectly. He has 4 books and a website. He is dr for FM but teaches diabetes ed at UCLA for 40 years to medical drs. He created the diet on patients and it does really make a difference. Not having this under control depletes the adrenals and taxes the liver. Diabetes type 2 happens fairly quickly to most people. I barely missed it myself and my dr was quite surprised that I did miss that. http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/guaigroup-links.htm This has the recipe archive. If you realize you feel much better on the diet thanoff. Then you may like me follow it for years. Sharron Long, and Stella both have several low carb cookbooks that work prettywell with the diet. I actually follow the diet on www.knowthecause.com thru their cookbook since I was facing fungus-toenails, sinusinfections and so on. The 2 diets are quite similar. But I do notbelieve in the fake sugars. I do stevia and once in awhile the lesschemically ones like xylitol. But fake sugar makes you crave real sugar so sets you back.http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/hypoglycemia.htm goodunderstanding of hypoglycemia which I no longer have at all but I am allergic to table sugar so no real exposure any more...http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/Research_HGdiet.htm Here is the diet. Liberal if you don't need to lose weight. Start here as I lostweight on this one anyways. Strict for weight loss if liberal isn'tenough to do that. So either diet strictly for at least 2 months to heal the pancreas. He has been endocrinologist and professor for Diabetes Courses fordoctors for 40 years at UCLA. He is 83 but still a full time doctor and also has FM and had 3000-4000 FM patients who see him and another 3000 FMers who follow the website from around the world.Anyway this set of websites will speed up your learning curve. You areright we should address this on the list. What does the Metagenics shake do? Is it a liver cleanse. I don't know much about the liver. The shake helps your liver to heal itself. The liver is your largest organ and filters out illness and toxins and the cells will literally die to protect you. It is also the fastest self healing organ in the body. Five years ago my liver was close to needing a transplant by their tests from a gallstone blockage of the common bile duct. I never want to be that sick again. So take good care of your liver. This diet helps your body to heal your pancreas, then lots of hormone and energy things will work better. They call it metabolic syndrome when you head toward type2 diabetes and other problems that just snowball out of control. Idon't miss that a bit. the fatigue and cravings are both signs that your pancreas needs your help. Sorry this is so close to Thanksgiving but it seems like there is always a holiday around when we want to diet. I never stayed on any other diet for long but this one made me feel so much better that have been on it for 3 years. Guest guest
Hi , In addition to the wonderful information Pamela has provided, I would also suggest to have a glucose tolerance test done. I had all of the other diabetic testing done (fasting glucose, HCA1, insulin, saliva, etc) and all of it came back within normal range, though I knew I always had a reaction to sugar / fructose (flu like symptoms) but it wasn't until a smart physician ordered the glucose tolerance test that it was finally confirmed that I had developed insulin resistance / borderline metabolic syndrome. I've since started taking chromium which is amazing at controlling carb cravings, balancing blood sugars and helping with weight loss. There was a recent post on Natural News blog that talked about the relationship between chromium deficiency, obesity and type 2 diabetes at an epidemic proportion in the western world. http://www.naturalnews.com/030292_chromium_diabetes.html Ziggy > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi, I started 50mg of iodine (iodoral) along with the protocol on > > > > 10/24/10.(I did the protocol w/o iodine before that and am healing > > adrenals > > > > plus suspicious thyroid lesion. > > > > > > > > I've been experiencing detox, so I do salt loading but in the last 48 > > hours > > > > I have had strange and somewhat alarming symptoms where the left side > > of my > > > > brain suddenly gets a sharp pain and feels like it is being squeezed > > for 1-2 > > > > seconds, making feel as though I may pass out but it ends. Guest guest
Pam and Ziggy, Thank you so much. I am in tears reading all this -- I have so many papers due at school plus my work and now realize I have a huge learning curve to go on past my healing my thyroid. I always feel like the doc will take me down a traditional path (and I don't have an MD) so I have to arrive armed with knowledge -- can an ND do the tests you suggest? I would rather that. I have sharp chest pain today along with the brain spikes which is stress I think. I will not touch anything except whole sugarless food until I can get to reading everything you sent and I'll try to get to the store to make cilantro pesto. At least I have a direction which I am so thankful to you for. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi, I started 50mg of iodine (iodoral) along with the protocol on > > > > > 10/24/10.(I did the protocol w/o iodine before that and am healing > > > adrenals > > > > > plus suspicious thyroid lesion. > > > > > > > > > > I've been experiencing detox, so I do salt loading but in the last 48 > > > hours > > > > > I have had strange and somewhat alarming symptoms where the left side > > > of my > > > > > brain suddenly gets a sharp pain and feels like it is being squeezed > > > for 1-2 > > > > > seconds, making feel as though I may pass out but it ends. Guest guest
Hi , Good for you for seeking out the truth. The more information you have, the more empowered you will be to take control of your health's destiny. It's a real shift in thinking, and can be a little scary at first because it can involve challenging the medical perspective. Depending on where you live, a naturopath may or may not be able to order the tests. I know in Canada and Australia they are allowed to order pathology (lab) tests, but you will have to pay out of pocket for them. In the US, you can order blood tests through Life Extension Foundation without a MD. Not sure about the glucose tolerance test, but you could call and ask them. All the best. Please let us know how you go.
