I agree, especially with high volume lists, you have no idea what someone is responding to. You can also check the online, instead of having emails directly, the discussions are easy to follow also, any message you click on will have all responses listed below.LinnOn Aug 29, 2010, at 11:57 AM, Kathleen Blake wrote:

Hi Karla,

Thank you so much for the information.  Tomorrow my cousin is going to send me

all of her medical records so at least I can bring them to be seen before I have

them fly out.  I really want them to come to Los Angeles to get her checked,

since the Doctors in Italy have convinced them it is not Autism, eventhough she

has all of the signs.  I will definitely look into the UCLA Autism clinic.

Thank you for the information.

If you're looking for an assessment, UCLA has an Autism Evaluation Clinic that

is very good. They are really thorough. Not cheap, but for my son, the

assessment gave us a very detailed picture of his problem areas and different

options to adressess them.

http://www.semel.ucla.edu/autism/clinic

The Autism Research Institute is another good resource. http://www.autism.com/.

The ATEC checklist is available, as are some of thier articles, in italian. The

are based out of San Diego. There is also a list of DAN Drs overseas, 3 or 4 in

Italy. http://www.autism.com/pro_danlists_results.asp?International=true

You can take an ATEC test online. The parents just answer the questions.

You get

a score at the end and a scale for scoring.

Google or it and it is free.

Hi,

Thank you very much for all of the information.  I think you are so right in

saying that it is doubtful that they will get proper help in Italy for her.

They have already convinced them that it is not Autism.  I am not a Dr, but I

read about it and she has all of the symptons.  They are willing to do whatever

it takes and I am going to do what I can from here.  He is going to send me all

of her medical information and once I translate them I will see if I can make an

appointment to meet with someone.  Thank you again for all the great

information.

I think California would be one of the best places to be able to get her

help. Contact the Autism Research Institute and look for a list of DAN!

physicians in your area. Dr. Jaquelyn McCandless is in California, I

believe. TACA (Talk About Curing Autism) is very active in California and

their website can give you a wealth of knowledge, as well.

In many ways, the DAN protocol helped our son, but as far as chelation goes,

if it is needed, You would get Dr. Andy Cutler's book and do the AC

Protocol. Don't waste time and money doing it IV. Our son had reactions to

that protocol.

But for testing and a getting started and finding some support for what is

going on, you can consult a DAN physician.

I doubt this family can get any help in Italy for this. There may be other

types of doctors there who are open-minded and willing to help. Perhaps

someone on this list would know of one.

Our son improved a great deal with dietary and supplementary intervention.

He was completely non-verbal and now has receptive, expressive, and

reciprocal speech. He is almost eleven, though his speech and emotional

level are probably at age six. Our son continues to improve. When we begin

chelation again, it will be with the AC protocol.

When are son regressed, all the mainstream physicians we saw tried to steer

us away from autism and what the real problem was. If the signs and

symptoms are there, then in it probably autism. the earlier the parents

begin interventions, the better. We started interventions when our son was

two, and he is now high functioning.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Antonella.

You don't have to translate the ATEC. The Italian version is here:

Modulo di Valutazione per il Trattamento dell'Autismo

Antonella,

I have a friend who lives in Rome, she is married to anitalian guy. They are

recovering their 6 yo kid through a detox treatment designed by an alternative

MD there. Please wait a little, I talked to her mother today and she is

confirming me her e-mail address by this friday the latest. I already tried to

contact her but the mail bounces back. Both mother and grandmother talked about

the great improvement this kid has done under the care of this MD, his program

includes dietary intervention, homeopathy and different therapies... I don't

know all the details, I know it is a tailor-made approach.

I'll write back as soon as I hear from my friend....

Dihydrogotamine ( " DHE " ) (we take it in a pill form now but when on IVIG it was

an injectable form into a bag of saline during infusion with Zofran to assist

with nausea). My daughter is taking sub-q now and still has to take the DHE

You should try to do a pure tone audiogram to see if she has a low decibel threshold at certain frequencies, meaning her ears will find them painfull

We actually bought an ex NHS one for £50 off internet

The Listening Programme is a good way to address the issues (if found) as it aims to smooth out the decibel/ frequency line (which ideally should be flat and identical for both ears)

Thanks

Last month we started with 5 drops for 3 days, then 11 days off, then 3 days 5 drops, yesterday i started with 10 drops for 2 weeks same amount then increase upto 15 drops.

After that We have to get her blood test done again to find out how much more antimony toxicity is left.

Hi Sindhu

Our child cant speak either - thats why we bought the equipment

You dont need them to speak to do the audiogram

You just watch their eyes and body and see if there is any movement or change (even if tiny) - then you know they have heard it

We repeated it lots of times on lots of different days to double check

Thats the only way you will find out if she has sensitivity and at which frequencies

Thanks

Thanks for replying, her x fragile came out negative. She has lot of antimony toxicity in her blood and very few good bacteria. She is on mild TD-DMPS, glutathione, probiotics, prebiotics and nutritional supplements. We didnt get her checked up for burxism. At SLC they said since she ca'nt communicate there is no point in audiogram,so we dont know how to find what frequencies bothers her. Hope to get some way to sort this problem out.

did she get checked for syndrome? The gene locus is 7q11.23. There is typically a cardiac issue (SVAS), characteristic dental malformation, and short stature.

Syndrome is generally quite obvious physically, when stopped growing I thought he might have had it, everyone said small as he was they had never seen presentation look like , paed dismissed it instantly. Google on the internet and you should get websites with information and photo's.

How was the antimony toxicity diagnosed?

Did she grind her teeth and cover her ears before the DMPS?
