Kathy, this is Lila in Seattle. I will be thinking of you also. I know

when I had surgery, I appreciated the kind thoughts. Alot of prayers were

answered. You are not alone. Please keep us informed when you can. Lila

Kathy,

This is terrible that this Dr., did this to you. Than not to even let you

know why. It is a shame that you will have to go through this all again.

I would really let him know what he did was wrong. There is no excuse for

him not contacting someone and letting them know what the problem was.

Kathy,

It doesn't matter the Dr. reason he had an obligation to notify someone.

What will happen with all your presurgery test? Be sure to ask him when he

calls. You should let him or his office know that this was unacceptable.

ok, i am starting to feel very overwhelmed again!!! my house is a mess. took

3 trips to take out the garbage. one to get the door open and the lid off the

can, then back in to get the garbage. one crutch to carry it out. then back

to close the door. my floors are a mess, i have mail stacked here and there,

the only bills that were paid again this month was rent, mortgage, and car

insurance. i have 4 new scripts to get from the pharmacy, running out of

food. found the food pantry but a little hard to do by myself. my mother in

law is going to take me tomorrow. my friend did a good health spell for me,

let's see if it works. kathy in il

thanks denise, i just needed to vent. no my friend is not a real witch, but

she does have some spell books and i told her about the first full moon on

halloween in 46 years and she decided to try it. i guess she did it at 12

midnight last night so she called today to see how i felt. it would be nice

if it did but....gotta get ready to crutch to the drug store now to give away

my paycheck. yippee!!!! kathy in il

Kathy,

Don't beat yourself up about it. It's that way here too. At least we try!

I feel like a beast most of the time giving my kids lists of chores every

day but it can't be helped. I am still hopeful that someday... Almost 6

weeks since knee replacement and I was hoping for so much more. Still

hobbling on a crutch and my other joints hurt too. Stopped Enbrel last

weekend because of surgery on Monday. That hurts too since I've had a cold

for aweek with coughing-getting better on antibiotics and cough meds but my

belly looks like I'm about to deliver any moment. Send some spells this way.

Is your friend really a witch?

i have broken out in welts/hives from the omnicef. i was only on it 3 1/2

days. they still did not have results from the culture of my ooze. i am

hoping i had enough of the antibiotic to clear it up. it does seem much

better, but still some. i see him again on tuesday. 25 days after surgery. i

told my mom if he doesn't take these staples out...i will!!! bought a new

little dusting tool and totally overdid it yesterday. must've tossed alot

last night. i woke up and looked like the mummy!! my foot came unwrapped and

i was dragging the gauze and with my little limp....other than that, hanging

in there. today is going to be our last 60 for a long while. weatherman says

we will wake up tomorrow to the true november. i guess it couldn't last

forever....hope everyone has a painfree day. kathy in il

Kathy I sympathize with you for sure! Hives are no fun, I know!

I have done this so many times. My skin was so blistered feeling I hated

to scratch, but itched so bad I had to!

I remember one time I told my Doc I could not take the med he gave me as

it cause the hives, breathing, etc. He said, " Oh...that was NOT a

reaction to the medicine. You just had a panic attack. " I said, " I've

never had one before. This was the only time AFTER I took the med. " He

said then, " Well, it Was a panic attack, because you hate taking

medicine so much, you had a panic attack and CAUSED that to happen. "

I told him I DID want to take every med he has given me, I start the med

with high hopes that they will HELP ME. Why would I have panic attack? I

think I just had a reaction.

So I have done this with other meds, and just said Forget It... I won't

even tell him.

Kathy, that was funny about telling your mom YOU would take out the

staples if he didn't!

They left ONE staple in my daughters stomach after her c-section. Every

time she went back to have IT out, the doc wasn't in...had to run. So

after several visits... she talked her husband into trying. They failed.

Soooo... he took her to ER, and THEY removed it!

Congrats to you for getting an early start, I think you'll be so pleased with the results, including the facial asymmetry. wore his DOC band from 5 to 8 months, approx., and received in my guess a good 90 to 95% correction. His ears are more aligned and his facial asymmetry is in my view, non-existent. Good luck to you all, time will fly by and you'll be amazed at how quickly you were done with the whole process!

Lots of luck,

well i went to my internist today and he doesn't think it is roseola. he said

the fever would've stopped when the rash came out and wouldn't have lasted

this long. he thinks i have a case of eczema. says maybe because of the meds

i take. so he gave me some steroid cream and told me to moisturize twice a

day. i had to buy eucerin creme in the jar $12.50 for 16 ozs!! better add

that to my christmas list. but it did come with socks so i can do my feet

overnight someday soon!!! i got my staples out today. leslie apologized for

not being there, she said no one told her or she would've come in. so i am

still wrapped up. boot for another week. steri strips on the infected part. i

wish they would figure it all out. kathy in il

I was wondering if anyone had any info on the use of growth hormones to

treat our disease. I had recently talked to a friend who took it for

other reason but the things it did to his body and changed were all

things that would help us incredibly. So I want to know if anyone out

there has ever used it or has any other info on it. I did a web search

but that wasn't real helpful at all. Please let me know. Thank guys

takes growth hormones only because he is so small. Its not easy to get

approved for growth hormones. From what i understand it won't help the RA but

then again jesse isn't taking it for RA exactly. I wonder if there has been

drug studies to this affect. It would be so cool if it worked for RA cause

there seems to be no reaction to it. I also wonder if there are different

kinds of growth hormones.

good luck,

is taking growth hormones because his growth was affected by JRA.

I doubt that the growth hormone that takes is the growth hormone that is

in milk. What is in milk is bovine growth hormones. It is a synthetic growth

hormone made by the Monsanto company, and is in milk, ice cream and American

cheese. Organic milk comes from cows that aren't given bovine growth

hormones. These hormones are given to cows to increase production of milk.

I've read reports that some of these cows actually drag their udders on the

ground and are in agony from having so much milk. Cow's milk is high in

hormones naturally because it is supposed to be food for their young. Calves

need the high amounts that are NATURALLY in their mothers milk, to sustain their

rapid growth. There are many studies done on bovine GH, and it's been linked

to many diseases. If you're interested in reading about some of the studies,

got to:

http://www.notmilk.com/links.html

I read a study that was done on and RA patient, and they found that the synovial

fluid of an arthritic knee had very high levels of GH. The levels of

circulating GH in the blood was below normal. They speculated that people with

RA don't synthesize GH properly.

I'll see if I can find the study. But please don't worry about 's growth

hormone. and I often talk about the health effects of drinking milk. I'm

glad to hear that his surgery went well and will increase his range of motion.

I hope his recovery is as painless as it can be.

hugs,

a

Dear Kathy,

The slow on not always reading things on time. I

too am sorry to hear about what is happening to you

and yet I understand, and I certainly understand the

pain.

I am one that for years has located my own comfort

in that of prayer. Today I will ask that your God of

understanding place his wings of love around you both

and bring a moment of comfort in your time. Amen.

Heidy -- My bags are packed! What a gorgeous country! I loved looking at

all the pictures. What's the market like for speech pathologists??? The

climate is very appealing. I can see why it is such a popular tourist

destination.

I live on an island, too. Vancouver Island off the west coast of Canada.

Part of the province of British Columbia. I looked up the stats for

comparison. You are 720 square miles -- I'm 2,136 square miles. Your

populations is 1.2 million; mine in 1996 was 652,000. So lots more people

on lots smaller space for you. Is Port Louis the biggest city? Only city?

Are there lots of smaller towns/villages? Probably lots of sugar cane

farms?

I always loved the Dodo bird :-(

Thanks so much for sending me that information. I love learning about new

places. Not boring in the slightest!

-- [ ]

Hi , I read your introduction, it's nice to know a bit more about the

person behind the keyboard. It's great that your daughter got her license,

hope you don't get too many grey hairs while she's getting used to driving.

LOL! Your waterfit classes sound great.

The 18 dogs are hunting dogs, really cute with long ears. My husband hunts

deer here in season (not my favorite sport as I love animals! Not very

" politically correct " either!) But we love our dogs and even though they

are officially " working dogs " they get treated like babies.

Not many people in the US know about Mauritius (Very far away and too small

to appear on some maps!)although there are actually a quiet a few Mauritians

living in the States. Here's a bit of info: Population approx: 1.2

million, Area .1,865 sq km (720 sq miles) The island is of volcanic origin,

surrounded almost entirely by coral reefs, so the sea is really calm and we

have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The climate is

tropical and generally humid. Ave annual temp is 26.7°C (80° F) - that will

make everyone in the group jealous! (It's summer here at the moment) The

official language is English but most people speak either French and/or

Creole. There are no indigenous people (it was a " deserted island " till the

Portuguese discovered it) The majority of Mauritians are Indians descended

from India but there are also French, African, Chinese and Muslim minorities

- a real cultural melting pot that makes for great food choices! My

husband's family are of French descent so speak French, which I had to learn

when I moved here 4 years ago from South Africa. The main industries are

Sugar, Textile and Tourism and the offshore finance sector (in which I

work). It is a very popular tourist destination, especially with Europeans

and we get a lot of " stars " who come here to unwind (Recently we had

Zeta & ). The Dodo bird, which is now

extinct, was indigenous to Mauritius. I won't blab on and on and bore you

but if you are interested here's a website that will tell you more about the

country and has a few nice pictures: http://www.ile-maurice.com/

Thanks for the luck on my baby mission!

Heidi
