Guest guest
> > So you can not ever get rid of it once you have it? Correct. Herpesvirus is contracted once for ever. > How does on get the gene? The first time you're infected by the virus (say, by sharing a cup with someone who has an active cold sore), some viruses will infect facial nerves. They'll attach themselves (inside the cell) to the nerve's transport system and be carried up the nerve to the nucleus of the nerve cell. There they can insert into the DNA of that cell. It's poorly understood how this " provirus " (that's what the viral DNA inserted into the host genome is called) is activated at some times and not others. However, as was said earlier, antiretrovirals like acyclovir can interfere with their activation and production. So, while there's no cure, you can take drugs to make outbreaks less frequent and less severe.

So the key is to make sure our bodies are alkaline and high in essential minerals, something that is no small task considering stress alone can make us acidic. I also remember Dr. Natasha -McBride (speaker last year at WAP conference) who recovered her son from autism through diet and use of fermented foods, say that there are " good viruses " that we don't know all that much about. They can supposedly play a role in fighting the bad ones. This is much like the yeast and bacteria that we all use in fermented foods for fighting against the bad ones in us or at least, hopefully upstaging them. Please don't quote me on any of this as I am going from vague recollection and not so much knowledge on viruses. Millie

So the key is to make sure our bodies are alkaline and high in essential minerals, something that is no small task considering stress alone can make us acidic. Please see the following message, as well as the messages linked within it: kombucha tea/message/36365 " pH therapy " is unequivocal bunk. The claims of pH therapy, if they actually were fulfilled, would be entirely fatal. The body cannot survive with a pH as far alkaline as pH therapists claim to achieve, nor as far acidic as pH therapists claim is common. Guest guest
Hi Roxana, One can buy ozonated olive oil or make it at home. Guest guest
Hi Roxana, Health is expensive, but going to doctors is, imo, more expensive and the drugs thedocs dispense have dangerous side effects. BTW, one can purchase ozonated olive oil. More expensive than making one's own, but no need to buy expensive machinery, so buying a jar of ozonated olive oil is more affordable.. I have not used ozonated olive oil, but this website seems like it sells a good product. http://ozonatedoliveoil.com/ BTW, I used to use a salve containing lysine on cold sores. I don't remember the brand name. Alobar On Mon, Feb 9, 2009 at 5:20 PM, Roxana <roxana@...> wrote: > Alobar, > > > > Thank-you for the website. I see they have one for $324.99. Guest guest
Hi Alobar, Thanks again.I bought a Lyzine lip ointment yesterday. I agree with you I have nothing to do with regular doctors. I don't touch any prescriptions and use herbs only, some nutraceuticals, raw foods and supplements. I have been through a lot of stress lately, therefore the cold sores. The ozonated olive oil I am going to buy, it has many more uses I see. Great for massage on achy bodies. Guest guest
Roxana, to ozonate your olive oil you'd need an ozone generator like mine, that takes an oxygen feed. The smaller model is adequate: http://www.plasmafire.com Using an ozone-resistant fish tank bubbler that comes with the kit, bubble ozone through extra virgin oil for about three weeks, until it forms a thick paste. all good, Duncan i > > How do I ozonate my olive oil? Guest guest
Duncan, Back 20 years ago I used to get major break-outs of cold sores in the corners of my mouth. When the sores broke open, infection would spread. No idea if the lysine in the salve penetrated the unbroken skin, but it did seem to induce the sores to heal more quickly and the sores exuded less fluid. Something else which worked was making a saturated solution of BHA or BHT in 190 proof alcohol. That stung a lot, but was very effective. I got that idea from a life extension book in which the author referred to BHA and BHT as " vitamins which nature did not invent " . BHA and BHT were supposed to be helpful for viral infections such as Herpes and HIV. No internet in those days, so I never looked into posible dangers of using BHA or BHT. By the time I did have internet, I no longer had serious herpes problems because of less stress and taking lysine, twice a day to prevent outbreaks. Guest guest
Alobar, thanks for the info; I'll pass it on. I still have my copy of Life Extension too -- I remember BHT and BHA are potent antioxidants but I didn't follow Durk's story back then because I didn't know anyone with herpes. Guest guest
The book I was referring to was published prior to Durk & Sandy's book.
