Reba,

I juice the garlic with carrots, beets, parsley, and celery. Its sort of a

V8 juice and the more garlic I add the stronger the taste. Its a great

cleanser though. The olive oil should be taken cold.

After reading everyone's messages for about a month I finally got

the courage to try the flush, and it worked! No pain at all, two

gallstones the size of a very large grape, numerous pea-sized and

smaller. I ate a quart of canned apples the day before as well as

drinking apple juice for several days and consuming only apple juice the

day of the flush. I used 1/2 cup lemon juice with 1/2 cup olive oil. I

took one dose of epsom salts before the flush and two in the morning, 2

hours apart. I reduced the dose of epsom salts to the amount recommended

on the box.

Here are some questions:

1. Can you cook the olive oil at all without destroying its essential

qualities? Or do I have to take it cold? It seems as if I had heard that

heating oils to some temperature destroys their good qualities. Does

anyone know?

2. Somewhat off the subject, but does anyone know how people eat garlic?

Do they just eat it straight? It is pretty awful that way. Are there

any tricks here?

3. Do we have any definitive evidence that these green things are indeed

gall stones?

Thanks for everyone's emails to this list. It is pretty exciting to

indeed spout out those stones. Now I have to decide how long to wait

before doing it again, and whether to try the gold coin grass.

How do I stop it? I haven't had any more since the 90 odd I got on that

terrible day. Apparently it wasn't something I did. It was the web-site. I

send a message as they were changing over from onelist to e-groups. I think you

are going to have to complain to them about it. I am terribly sorry about that.

I understand your pain and confussion about having gallbladder surgery. I

believe that sugery has its place but from experience I have found that it

doesnt always bring the results you might like. I had my gallbladder out 10

months ago and still experience discomfort at times especially when I'm

eating improperly for my body. I now believe my liver was the underlying

cause of my symptoms and am now working on having a healthier liver. The

flushes do help but for me it just took a little time. I wish I had tried

this before making my decision to have surgery.

Take care

This sounds like a fairly similar situation I was having. In fact I had one very very sever attack and when they did an ultrasound there were no stone found and I was told my liver, gallbladder and pancreas looked great. It was after that attack that I did more research and found Dr. Cabot's book "The Liver Cleansing Diet". Once I got it and read it in less than two days I realized my avoidance of ALL fats was not a good thing. In fact it was detrimental to my liver's good health. I started taking lecithin, hemp oil, flaxseed oil, and an essential max which is a combination oil containing all omega groups, and I even started eating my avocados again which I had avoided because of the 'fat' that they contained which to find out is an EFA. Since late October of last year I have not had a single gallbladder attack, discomfort maybe from eating no no's, but no attacks. Considering that this is the 8th month that I've not had an attack and before that I was in the hospital emergency room 4 times last year in 9 months I would say something good has happened in my life. So good that it's one reason I write here. I can honestly say, unlike some others we've heard say it, "I know your pain". I have been on the floor of the ER writhing in pain awaiting a doctor coming in to see me, and get me that shot for the pain.

Keep in mind that it's very hard to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man. Not to mention unfair. So don't expect so much from doctors who are puppeted. They often haven't learned to really think for themselves and get to a eureka factor on their own like Dr. Cabot did about the liver. My own doctor wanted me to schedule for an operation within two weeks of my diagnosis and told me at the follow-up that my gallbladder was probably bad for the last 10 years and should just be removed. That was the start of a new education for me as I researched the subject of gallbladders and made one discovery after another about the interplay between the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen (minor, for most all of us with this problem) and the colon. They need each for the job of cleaning your system and providing the nutrition needed to exist in good health. Being void of one puts a burden on the others.

I can honestly say I'm very, very, grateful to such people as Chang, Hulda , Bob Beck, and others with informative websites, for my gallbladder still being in me, and working today with a bill of health by way of an ultrasound saying my liver, gallbladder and pancreas look great.

You can pretty much consider that as you get EFAs on a daily basis and probably more at night you're very likely cleaning the gallbladder with it's use. I often take big swigs of my hemp or flaxseed oil before going to bed. (Just talking about it made me desire a swig, it's amazing how after awhile what didn't taste so good now is desired by the body because of doing a body good).

Consider drinking apple juice and doing caster oil packs too, before going to bed. You may start to see some results in darker stools and even firm floating ones if you're also eating a good diet, without or very low in saturated fats, and good soluble fiber content, like you can get from apples, oatmeal, fruits, vegetables and grains. The trick is stay away from all fried foods and foods which contain fats that will solidify when drained from a cooking pan and cooled the liver has to work overtime to deal with that type of fat and then the gallbladder tries to dump and may push out a stone which then may lodge in the bile duct. Then in two weeks your body will be petty well readied to dump quite a bit of the stones, if they haven't already started to breakdown and move out anyhow.

Hello everyone, I have done two cleanses, the first one I didbecause I was having an awful attack and was just fedup. There was no more what ifs, I just did it. I gotout about 300 stones and the second was not so goodbut it was because I just couldn't stay in bed. Anyhow, I have had an attack one week after thecleanse each time and enough to send me to thehospital. Now they want to operate and I can not getan open discussion happening about a cleanse. Thedoctors give me that "you don't know what you'retalking about look," and won't even listen because itis not scientifically proven. Mind you, the doctor oncall told me not to take olive oil because it wouldgive me an attack. That was the cue that she didn'tknow what she was talking about. I just don't know howto talk to these people, I realize that they aretrained but do you think they would listen when I saythat olive oil doesn't give me an attack, not frompaper facts but from my experience. I have come homefeeling small and belittled and really not sure whereto go. I was also wondering if it is necessary to wait twoweeks to do another cleanse... I feel so good doingthem that I do want to do it again quickly. Thanks in advance for any advice or any support. Ireally am grateful to have found this group.__________________________________________________

You can use either a cotton towel or a cotton roll to make it. I use the cotton roll and keep it in a bag for a number of uses and then just throw it away and start afresh. I use enough to go across the whole of the liver area and some of the spleen. Saturate it with castor oil and then put a plastic bag on top of that and a water bottle on top of the plastic bag covering the saturated cotton. I do this for at least 45 minutes, I usually keep it on an hour or more. It just ain't no big thing to veg and watch TV with it on.

I haven't felt the need for some number of months now. Ever since I started using EFAs more it just doesn't seem to be as necessary as it was before. However, it still is handy and certainly would be just fine for maintenance or even a thing to do when doing a flush, for that extra kick, you know.

Dale,

How often, with what kind of regularity do you use these? Are they for acute episodes (if you still have any of those?) or for "maintenance"? Are you still, currently, using them?

Thanks,

Dale,

Thanks ever so much for explaining how to make a castor oil pack. I am going to

give this a try. I haven't had severe pain in my gall bladder area since I

have been eating Vegetarian and raw foods as well as taking the EFA's but I do

have a feeling of something poking.. so to speak in that area. I know that ol

rock is still in there and I am working on getting it broken and out.. but in

the meantime I will try this to see if it helps that poking feeling. I am

starting a parasite cleanse when cherry season is over. I wait all winter for

the summer fruits and the parasite cleanse calls for not eating fruits other

than apples, cranberries and lemons. So I will wait to do that. After that I

will do another flush. You are such an inspiration Dale. Every now and then I

read a negative post about how stones can't be desolved and such.. but there is

always you with your success story that keeps up my faith in these little

remedies.

Peace, smiles and good health.. Diane

Ann;

The best suggestion we can make here is to be sure to get plenty of EFAs on a daily basis. Essential Fatty Acids such as are found in soy, nuts, beans, avocados, and other things are good for liver and gallbladder function, and general cellular health. Lecithin, an EFA usually made from soy, is a product which has the effect of making the cholesterol, which is continually being made and removed by the liver, to stay loose from each other and not coagulate, much the same as dish detergent does with fats.

Here is what you should do now; don't eat any saturated or hydrogenated fats and avoid sugars too. Saturated and hydrogenated fats are those which cause the liver to have to work overtime to get broke down and removed from your body. Saturated fats are the coagulating fats. Coagulated fats, like you get when bacon grease if poured into a jar and solidifies, are very hard for the liver to digest out, and forces the gallbladder to try to provide concentrated bile to breakdown the substance. However, if the gallbladder if full of extra thickened sludge then there is a real problem with it getting through the bile duct to the intestines because of being so thick. It's then retarding the liver and pancreas from providing the things needed from them too. So de-burdening is in order.

The process of getting the gallbladder back in order again takes a bit of doing, but we know here that it can be done, many of us have done so. The gallbladder sludge is just a symptom of other underlying problems which could be diet, liver, intestinal; all of these need to be considered when attempting to get the body rebalanced. However, for now just consider all damaged EFAs as you get with deep fried foods as a poison. Avoid eating at all fast food locations because just about everything they provide is loaded with fats, damaged EFAs and saturated fats.

Consider doing Castor Oil packs too. This tends to help in getting relief even if there is movement of bile and discomfort after its application (there is still the need to get out the bile). A caster oil pack can be made by placing cotton over the area of the liver, gallbladder and part of the pancreas which is saturated with castor oil. Then putting a plastic bag over that and a hot water bottle over the plastic it is left there for at least 45 minutes. I usually do this before going to bed while watching TV. The pack can be saved for other times of use by being put in another plastic bag.

I do wish you the best at the start of this endeavor. Last year I had gallstones, which sent me to the hospital numerous times, but according to an ultra sound done in October they are no longer in me thanks to much of the this information which I've been able to use.

I am 28 years old and had a baby 8 months ago. I was recently diagnosed with gallbladder disease...no stones were seen, but sludge was present. The dr. suggested gallbladder removal.I have no risk factors, so the only thing I can figure out that caused this was pregnancy (this was my first child). My pain comes and goes, but lately it has been every day (off and on during the day.) I eat a fairly healthy diet, so I'm not sure what is triggering the pain.I really do not want to have my gallbladder removed. Can anyone advise me on success they have had with alternative therapies? I am breastfeeding, so it would have to be safe to do while breastfeeding. Also, is there anyone here with sludge and no stones? My pain has been constant for at least a week now. Anyone with sludge have constant pain?Thank you in advance,AnnYou are receiving this email because you elected to subscribe to the gallstonesegroups.

Hey Ann, my gallbladder problems came to light after I had my last child. I

have been flushing for over a year and breastfeeding and have had no

problems. If you follow Dale's advice you should notice a major difference.

Good luck!

I just have to say that having been on the Liver Cleansing Diet for

about six weeks, I went haywire this weekend and ate some of the fats I

have been avoiding.... several pieces of cake, etc. Doing so has

reconfirmed that I am on the right path.... because I felt awful! Major

heartburn! So..... back to a focus on the good old EFA's which I can

eat to my heart's content without difficulty.

Thank you all for your kind responses. I am very careful about what I eat,

but I have noticed that even avocados and peanut butter cause me pain. Is

this normal with gallbladder problems? These are two of my favorite foods

and I hate not being able to eat them. So I am wondering...even though I

have experienced pain after eating them, should I continue to eat them in

hopes that their EFAs will cleanse my gallbladder?

Also, several of you mentioned a cleanse. How do I do a cleanse?

Thank you again,

Ann

I have to laugh because I really really know the feeling. It would be so nice to be able to be "normal" but the pain just isn't worth the taste. However, it did give you that chance to see that what you've been doing is right.

Don't eat them for now. I had trouble with cabbage causing me pain and know what you mean by the feeling you get. It's not an attack but it sure almost feels like it may at any moment turn into one. What I believe happens is that particular foods, which are good for the gallbladder and liver, may be to simulative at certain stages of the healing. In fact just tonight I purchased mixed nuts and I know that in the past pecans really made the feeling come on that an attack was eminent.

Of late I've been getting away with eating a lot of things that I wouldn't have dared to try just a year ago. I've eaten cabbage in my salads and did get a feeling in my liver but nothing to get too excited about. So, I'm going to see if the pecans do anything, and if not...good. I really love pecan pie and it's going to out soon I'm sure. I didn't dare eat it at Shari's last year when my gallbladder and liver were acting up terribly.

Keep in mind that the EFAs don't clean out the gallbladder, they just work with the liver to keep the liver balanced better and helps to keep the bile salts and cholesterol suspended and not clustered. By doing this along with lubricating the bile ducts it keeps things from sticking. So even if a stone does get into the duct chances are pretty good that the oils will help the thing to move along. That's why a castor oil pack is so helpful with a minor or even major attack, it certainly helped me through a couple of bad attacks (along with a foot massage given me by my wife)

Regarding the cleanses you can just go to Dusan's site below, the Sensable Health site or even one using Hulda s recommendation.

Are you talking health food store peanut butter I hope? The kind at the

grocery store is not full of EFA's.... but hydrogenated fat.

Just experiment with new foods, and enjoy. I found that putting nuts on

my salads, I didn't miss cheese. I have always LOVED cheese.... and

often put it in salads.

Also.... almond milk is good on cereal in the morning.

I could easily stay on the liver cleansing diet most of the time. I

enjoy whole grains, fruits and veggies. They are my favorite foods

really.... just takes time to prepare them.

I have now started making up a recipe and then freezing the

leftovers.... rather than just putting them in the fridge. That way

they stay nice and fresh, and I don't end up wasting it by letting part

of it go bad in the fridge. Also, in a particular week, I get more

variety that way.

Enjoy!

Ann,

I've been too busy too check my mail for a few days, and don't have time for

a lengthy reply now, but I have sludge and no stones. I can write to you

more later, in orivate if you want (as everyone else has heard this story.)

I would reccomend handing on to that gall bladder. You will learn a lot

here.

Debra
