Thanks to you who responded. Maggie is doing better and is home. It was awful having her in the hospital. I swear she was depressed. She started doing better only after I brought Sara to visit.

Medical personnel can be so silly. While briefing a nurse about Maggie a nurse told her that Maggie was a down's baby and didn't understand what was going on. I wonder how many other two year olds would have an understanding of blood taking, IV's, constant probing of various body cavities, etc... I don't think Maggie's objections had much to do with her extra chromosome.

I want you all to know that I love reading about your kids and I am saddened by some of the things that go on. I often don't respond because 9 times out of 10 I am holding Teddy and can't type. I can nurse him and manuver my mouse but I can't type. I don't want anyone thinking I don't care or selfishly only write when I have something to say about my children. Also, I read a lot the posts at night right before I go to bed and am too damn tired to think of anything to write in sympathy or elation. Just know that I think of all of you and your kids often and find great comfort knowing I have you guys in the world and at my disposal.

So glad Maggie is doing better and is home. I remember when Sara was

hospitalized two nights after her tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy and how

depressed she seemed--I just wanted the little girl I knew back--that

happened as soon as we got home.

That was an insensitive comment from the nurse--you think that as

professionals, they would be more educated.

Oh, Stacey, Don't you worry about responding to

everyone. It is hard to do. I don't always either. You

have your hands full and no one expects you to.

Everyone on here does.

I am so glad Maggie is better. It is hard when one of

your children are sick much less in the hospital. Hang

in there and please tell us your problems whenever you

want to. It's kind of nice hearing other people's

problems cause it helps me keep my mind off of my own.

book exactlly

> or did you make some addjustments?

I followed the book EXACTLY for C1 and half of C2 in terms of

exercise, and EXACTLY in terms of nutrition for all of C1 and C2. I

never counted calories, only portions.

How was you weight like did you lift heavy

> weights or did you stick to light weights?

I started out lifting heavy weights to failure, like what your

husband has you doing. It's a good thing to do when you're starting

out because it allows your muscles to grow, which in turn burns more

fat. You can always change up your sets and reps and weights later

on, like I am doing now. But for C1, I would recommend that you keep

doing what you're doing and lifting to failure.

Food wise did you get bored is

> there some cookbooks that you know of that helped you with food

ideas?

I am really not a picky eater. I do enjoy cooking, though, so coming

up with my own stuff wasn't that hard once I'd been doing the program

for a couple of weeks. I always made sure that I had lots and lots of

authorized food in my house so that I could make good choices. Now I

poach three or four chicken breasts on Sunday and eat them all week

in different versions of chicken salad or on salad, etc. As time went

on, I moved away from shakes and bars, although I did use them quite

a bit in the beginning. In terms of recipes, I recommend joann's

site, http://mrsbishwitskitchen for recipes. It's the first place I

go when I'm looking for something new.

Hope this helps : )

Way to go Maggie! That's some change. I haven't had a chance to read

all the accolades yet but guess you're going to go for another

challenge? Keep up the great work! You're a great inspiration!

Hi Maggie,

No words of wisdom could possibly shed light on men and their

behaviour! I'm trying to put my boyfriend's comment into perspective

(he still likes me, he doesn't think I'm fat, etc.). I'm usually

such a laid back person; my friends/family can tease me mercilessly,

and I just tease back. Yet the minute my guy says something, I

become touchy and overly sensitive. It's pure relationship

sabotage! I've always been that way, and I'm trying to work through

that needines and figure out where it's coming from.

I remember that you have been working with the little autistic boy.

I've always admired people who have the patience and dedication to

work with Special Ed. students. I think this is a fascinating field,

and you'll be great at it. English grad. school isn't for

everybody. While working on my Ph.D., I read all of Wharton in one

month! Can you imagine? " Custom of the Country " alone is a breezy

600 pages! I'm going to check out that " chicklit " club, too! I

should really be part of something like that (since, obviously, I

don't spend enough time online :).

Anyway, keep me posted!

Hi! I had the same Dr. as and I have had to have a dilation and

am doing fine now. Infact, I was even told it could be done again if

neccessary. He used the smallest balloon. Good luck and hang in there.

Hello pfaigen2@...,

In reference to your comment:

Hi! I had the same Dr. as and I have had to have a dilation andam doing fine now. Infact, I was even told it could be done again if neccessary. He used the smallest balloon. Good luck and hang in there.

I suppose again I have not expressed myself well. My doctor

never said a dilatation could not be done after a myotomy.

In fact he said right the opposite, that too often dilatations

are needed after the wrap. Not always! Just so often that

he'd prefer his patients not have the wrap.

I think the question Cindi had and that I would like to know

the correct answer for is what happens to that wrap when

the dilatation becomes necessary. When the balloon is blown

up during the dilatation, does it "stretch the wrap but leave

it in tac", or does it actually "rupture" the wrap that was put

there?

Hope this better defines the question or Cindi correct me if I

misunderstood your question.
