Guest guest
Yeah, I thought about doing something layered. Actually, at our gathering I received some " mountain apple " fragrance oil from Tradewinds, and I thought about putting down a layer of oatmeal soap first, then green apple soap, then oatmeal, then green apple, etc., to kind of make an " apple crisp " soap. Since the swap is in September, something " autumn-y " might be nice. But I don't know, I have a lot of other ideas, too! Something swirled would be cool! And I love chunky soaps! Thanks for the ideas! Let us know what cool stuff you receive in your swap!!! nne

Guest guest
Believe me, you guys will hear me screaming for joy!! I thought of another thing on my wish list: I want a professional printer to help me make up brochures and price lists for wholesalers. That's where I'm targeting my business - no more craft fairs unless I want to, but I doubt it. M Re: to "busy" G Wow M-That is totally awesome!!! Guest guest
I have the same problem with my husband except it's with beef. His father worked for Meat Packing Co when dh was young and they had roast beef, steak, etc. all the time. Now he'd rather have hot dogs than steak. Can you imagine? I love beef, especially a good medium rare roast beef with gravy and mashed potatoes. Oh my God, I've got to stop - I'm starting to salivate. (hehe) M Re: OT - Zucchini Lizz-It's probably a good thing I don't have one. My dh would probably divorce me for sure! Zucchini in everything like when he was a kid, uggghhhh! Oh well, he'll only have to deal with it for a couple of months each year.ColleenCountry Meadow CreationsOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author. Guest guest
I run into a chicken problem with my hubby. He, his father, both his brothers and 2 sister in-laws have or still work for Tyson chicken... He can handle one meal a week of chicken and that it and of the one meal he'll only eat about 2 pieces. His father still works for Tyson and one of his brothers has moved to owning his own 70 acre 3 chicken house chicken farm. I can't help thinking that every time we have chicken we are helping to support the rest of the family. lol If you ever meet him just don't ask how chicken is processed! I refuse to listen to some of it. His last job there was working in " live hang " I'll drop it at that... thats more of description than you need to know how they start the processing! lol Terri
Guest guest
Yup, it's for The Flower Barn but I had extra so I'm taking it to the ladies' shop tomorrow. She moved my products in an even more exposed area right near the cash register now since she's sold so much of her clothes. Now my stuff is selling even faster. So I figured I might as well take advantage of it and get as much stuff down there for the next two weeks as possible. M Re: What I made this week I've heard rave reviews about that Baked Apple & Cinnamon. I've never bought anything from Oregon Trails, but I've heard her stuff is really great.Your salt packaging sounds terrific. Guest guest
My " great " kids? You surely must be joking!!! LOL! I'm in the office checking my email while they are in the livingroom torturing each other. Zachary is trying to watch a movie & keeps changing the channel on the tv. It's either that or she just turns the tv off on him! Orrrr, she's hitting him with one of her books. Yup, I think big brother better watch his step around his little sister cause she's big enough to put him in his place now. And it doesn't help that he cries when she hits him, and she rubs salt in the wound by calling him a baby & making waaahh waaahh sounds at him!!!! Sure you don't want a couple? He he!! I'll have to write down your birthday or I'm sure I'll forget! Colleen Country Meadow Creations " nne V. Guest guest
nne- Sounds like my inlaws house. They are really close to the road, and it's the main one thru town. That's why we dragged everything down there, cause it's always a busy stretch of road. Oh well! Like you said, it's money I didn't have before! seems to be better, or so he says. Guest guest
Hey angel bear-babe! good to see you posting and whats up with those girls? Im sure you might not have definite answers yet but when you do make sure to let us all know. I have said prayers for you and I hope you get this taken care of quickly. Im doing better. After being treated like crap by that first dentist I have found a new one who knows a lot about sjogrens and is really good. This is a priority because of the amount of time Ill have to spend at his office over the next couple of months. And then i need to go in often for check ups since sjs can destroy teeth. (no spit) I am also proud of myself for giving the kiss of death to this guy in KC. He seemed to always be in my life WAITING for some remission or cure that may never happen. So forget it, hes gone. He was not helping me deal with my reality Thanks for caring and glad to see all your posts again, you are special to the group!!!!!!!!!!!Love Colleen
Guest guest
Yup, my husband has always done his own, too. The only thing that bothers me is when he's doing laundry and there's mine or Kaitlyn's on the laundry room floor, he'll do those, too. That's OK, except a lot of times they need pre-treating and he doesn't check. Also, he's one of those people that everything goes in the washer and the dryer. I like to hang a lot of my things to dry so they don't shrink and they also last longer. You wouldn't believe how many things I can't wear because he decided to "help" and now they could fit a 10 yr. old child. That's what gets me upset. But if I say anything, he gets all offensive and tells me how lucky I am that he does laundry. Granted, it's great and all, but is it worth the price of losing clothes to shrinkage? (hehe) M Re: Dripping wet Terri M-First I wanted to let you know I hope your dad is doing okay. Pleasekeep us updated. And as with Kathy, make sure you take care of yourselftoo. As for husbands doing their own laundry-I thought mine was the onlyone!!! My 95 year old grandmother flips everytime I remind her of allthe stuff my dh does for himself. She spent nearly 60 years doingeverything for my grandfather. She just doesn't understand modernwomen! And it's not really that, dh has always done it himself. So what if that brand new red shirt has never been washed before, in it goes with his underwear. How's pink look on a grown man????? knows better than to do anyone elses laundry. He stays strictly to his own! I'm online right now too-what did you need? Colleen Country Meadow Creations
Guest guest
Colleen You're so right. It's things like that that take your mind off the more serious problems we're having. I got a letter from the school yesterday regarding my 13-year old, Kaitlyn. It seems we've been invited to a reception at the school next week because Kaitlyn is being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society!! Boy, you talk about proud. The letter tells that the students are not only chosen for their grades but have to be selected by the teachers for their leadership, integrity, and other things. That took my mind off things for a day or so. These are the things that help. Proud Mom M What dh is doing on vacation! Thought I'd share this to remind everyone that even though we're goingthru a national tragedy, you should take time out to enjoy the smallthings in life. is teaching the kids how to walk a slinky down the stairs rightnow. Guest guest
Thank you Colleen and the others that posted congratulations on my daughter's award. But I certainly don't feel I can take much of the credit. Yes, we brought her up with proper morals and a caring attitude but her grades are hers alone. It was nice to have some GOOD news for once, I will say. Gee, Colleen, I'm going to miss Penny's business. She had nice things. I got ALL my micas from her. I couldn't tell from her post on her "group" or on her website whether these two companies that are taking over are located near her or she is just selling her supplies to them. I guess we'll have to wait and see. But besides her having great stuff, she was a big help when I was first getting started. She always got back to you right away with answers and she was very prompt with her shipping. She is going to be sorely missed by a lot of people. Guest guest
Colleen That's great!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. M Re: Wholesale ? Thanks for responding ! I've always figured the cost ofingredients, shipping costs, and packaging in the cost of my products.I've never tried to figure out how much per hour I want to earn. I'venever kept track of how long it actually takes me to make anything. Ican come close with an estimate, but never sat down and figured it out.I got an inquiry from a hotel out of state with an interest in possiblycarrying my soaps in their gift shop. Guest guest
Colleen Do you know the brand of the one you got from the "quick buy?" I've never seen Creme Brulee on any other site other than Sissie's. Let me know if you know of another source. M Re: Colleen - important Of course I did! Doesn't that go figure that I "thought" I'd orderedall my supplies for the rest of the season already. I will have tocheck my supply. I've got their's and one I got in a fast buy. Guest guest
Colleen Nope, I haven't gotten anything but the Creme Brulee from them. I'd like to order something else from them, too but I spent $75 yesterday at a couple of sites. So I think I'll just grab a lb. of it and run. Oh, I've got a question for you on Creme Brulee. I'm just curious if it turns M & P soap a brown tint or changes your colors at all. I've only used it in my lotion bars and never in soap but I'd like to. It smells like its got a touch of vanilla in it so I figured there might be a chance of it discoloring somewhat. Does it? M M-Sissies Candles Okay, so I peeked before sniffing my oils. $9.95 per pound! OMG! Forthat price, I do believe I need some!Question for you (or anyone else)-Have you tried the Spring Meadow orCountry Garden? If I'm gonna get one scent, I might as well get something else too!ColleenCountry Meadow CreationsOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author. Guest guest
No , I don't know the brand. I only know that it was originally called " Coffee Caramel " and they changed it to Creme Brulee. (The lady in charge of the buy.) Sissies is the only place I had found the fo before the fast buy. Guest guest
Yes it does darken some. I start out with a mix of white & clear base, and add some of Sage Meadow's " Autumn Splendor " for a light glittery tan. It eventually turns to a caramel color.
