Duncan,

I chew up 2 vitamin C tablets while drinking whey. The whey makes the

C feel less acid in my mouth. I wonder if I am doing this to provide

a more acidic stomach environment when drinking whey? It just seemed

like a good thing to do.

I think the vitamin C won't change stomach pH as much as the whey

will, Alobar.

all good,

Hi,

IPADD exists solely on the internet, at least for now. We all just have to

imagine what the others look and sound like. :)

We have discussed meetings in the past, for example, around Lobby Day for

Disabilities in Springfield, but so far that's been an idea and not a reality.

Since our members are all over the state of Illinois, it's hard to imagine where

else a bunch of us might land on the same day and time.

The home page for IPADD can be visited at:

IPADDUnite/

This is where you can access our Links and Files sections, chock full of helpful

resources.

Hope that answers your questions. Let me know if you need more info.

Walk,

That was a posting error.  Won-Taek Choe MD is my surgeon.  Dr. Choe graduated

from Harvard with an A.B.  and Stanford Medical College with a MD.  He has

written many technical articles on biochemistry.

Dr. Choe practices out of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City, and

University of Hackensack Medical Center, and Englewood Medical Center in New

Jersey.

Before I see Dr. Choe (but I am in email contact with him) I have to have a

cochlear implant evaluation this Friday, June 5 at 10 AM at Hackensack.  If I

get a low score on audiology and speech discrimination there will be a

psychological component by the audiologist.

My ENT at ENT and Allergy Associates does not feel I  will get a high score.  I

have to see my hearing aid audiologist there tomorrow afternoon to replace

hearing aid tubing.  I want them to be in optimum condition of the cochlear

implant evaluation.

Dr. Choe does not want me to travel far after surgery.  So surgery will probably

be in New York City but mapping at Hackensack since the facility takes my

insurance.

That is one of the reasons I had to postpone surgery.  Dr. Choe located the

facility for mapping and pushed this through.  Many surgeons take New York State

Empire United Health Care but few facilities do so.  Hackensack already received

United Health Care payment for evaluation and mapping.  So alternate facilities

in New York City is out of the question now.

Hackensack only received approval or certification for payment.  They will be

paid after they perform  the services.  A $30 co payment will apply.

Rose,

I have been dealing with this for about 9 months and am close to a cure although

I beleive they are still in my yard and I have been picking up stragglers. I

will answer the questions I feel I can help with.

1. I would have your daughter find a place to stay until you can purchase

menthol crystals and put borax down on the carpet. She should spend a minimal

amount of time at home until things are under control.

4. If you don't have a lot of hot water you could also use a cup of borax and a

half cup of ammonia (use less if you have a front loading washer)with cold

water, dry on hot.

5. My husband already thinks I'm nuts. I am the only one in the house that the

mites continually attack. One son was swarmed when he emptied a wastebasket, but

hasn't had any other problems yet. I use borax on the carpets and only nylar and

pine sol on the wood floor and tile.

6. I went through a period of about 6 months where I had very few skin bites,

but rash areas and was infested internally (eyes, nose, ears, throat,

intestines) I'm starting to get skin bites again that is why I believe I am

picking them up outsie when I do yard work.

7. I used sulfur cream a lot in the beginning and I think it prolonged the

condition. After a couple of prescriptions from a derm they cleared up and I

started working on my environment.

I think others could better answer ?'s 2 & 3.

Good luck it is exhausting at first and at times it is hard to think positive,

but with perseverence we can live normal lives again.

God bless, Laurel

everyone in the household? Is it safe for my 28 year old daughter to be in the

Thanks so much Laurel,

I'm grateful to hear you feel you are close to a cure. That is really good news!

I appreciate you taking your time to help me out. I hope you don't mind if I ask

you a few more questions.?

Would you be willing to share which perscriptions your dermatologist perscribed

that you thought were effective?

Have you positively identified your mite as a birdmite?

I found some mite samples tonight in the folds of the plastic of my bedcover. I

am hopeful to finally get a diagnosis of what has been eating us after all these

months!

I was just thinking tonight I needed something for the environment but I don't

want to use toxic chemicals if I can avoid it. Are there harmful effects for

people with Nylar?

I would really love to speak with you by phone to talk about your internal

condition. Would you be willing to have a conversation? If so, when would be

good for you? Afternoons or evenings are best for me any day but Saturday or

Tues.

Thanks again to all,

I'm learning a lot everyday. Hope to give back to all of you once I get my

bearings with this condition.

20x ? = 400 ml x 5

20

There is a formula;

C1 x V1 = C2 x V2

where C = concentration in % and V = volume in ml

and C = X gm /100ml

the word 'of' is translated to multiplication

You now have 400 ml of a 5% solution

you started with some unknown quantity or volume of a 20% solution

C1 x V1 = C2 x V2

20% x V1 = 5% of 400ml

20% x V1 = 5% of 400ml

-------- -----------

20%---------20%

5% of 400ml

V1 = ----------------

20%

V1 = 100 ml

check:

20% x 100ml = 5% x 400 ml

2000ml = 2000 ml

Hope this helps,

2-12.5 mg Iodoral?

Yes Iodoral can start a period but usually not at 25 mgs. For me it happened at 100 mgs. I am in meno and no longer get periods but when I upped it to 100 mgs I got a cycle every 2 weeks. We did Vit A (25,000) IU to get it back under control. Remember that iodine goes to the ovaries and uterus so it is hormonally driven in that respect as well.

questions

Hi, I started taking 2 iodorals a few months ago. also had my thyroid meds increased and a change in my bio-HRT , Ive had menopause for 3 yrs now. anyway, my thyroid labs went up, so Im now decreasing those meds, but I got a period.. cramps and everything now.. The HRT was NOT supposed to do that.. I specifically discussed that with the compounding phramcy.. so Im wondering if the iodoral did something? I did email the pharmacy also. and will wait to see what happens next month. of course I still havent lost any weight either.. wouldnt mind so much iof i saw some other result like weight loss... or nicer hair... kathy

3 months. This was also with fairly high vit A supplementation. I'm waiting this

month to see if it continues.

should we all be on higher doses of vitamin a?? i did read this somewhere about needing to take a along with iodine.....could it be we all start having periods on iodine because we are supposed to?? i mean maybe the iodine has normalized our hormones ....i guess having one every 2 weeks is not good but if we have one every month is that a bad thing?? i am perimenopausal so have a few here and there ....so not sure if it is related to iodine or not...From: Lynn <lyn122@...>Subject: Re: questionsiodine Date: Tuesday, July 7, 2009, 7:53 AM

Vitamin A is also essential for the thyroid gland, among other things. We get

our vitamin A from cod liver in its own oil.

I'm going to speak at our local Board of Ed meeting tonight. I'm bringing a copy

of our state law, and copies of exemption forms for them to attach to their

minutes.

I will touch on swine flu but plan to speak more on that at their Sept. meeting

when all the nurses and whoever else will be discussing it.

The plan tonight is to get it in the papers about exemptions for the straggler

parents (like me) who have yet to get their kids physicals. Fortunately, the

reporter is a friend.

I'm going to speak at our local Board of Ed meeting tonight. I'm bringing a copy

of our state law, and copies of exemption forms for them to attach to their

minutes.

I would love to go speak at the BOE but have no clue what to say or where to

start. I am not a good speaker either so I would be very nervous.

Take what I wrote and just read it (obviously substitute your state laws info).

I wasn't a good speaker either but had to do it because of an issue in town. It

went on for five years--still not done--and it's second nature to me now.

What you do is find out when and where the meetings are, get a copy of the

agenda to see when public comment is, and go. They will ask when theyr'e ready

for public comment, at which point you raise your hand, they call on you, you

state your name and read. Then thank them and sit down. They generally don't

answer questions. It's hard at first but just do it.

It's important to have reporters there so it gets out to the parents.

I would ask about the academic health of the children, if that's a term. Years

ago, there were no special ed rooms or teachers, kids didn't have all the

learning problems, dyslexia, processing disorders, need sensory integration

therapy, etc. and they didn't have the health problems that cause them to miss a

lot of school, such as asthma, cancers, etc. or allergies to every food coming

down the pike to the point that most elementary classrooms I've seen lately have

signs on them: " Dairy-free, peanut-free, tree-nut free, egg-free, classroom " and

kids can't bring in cupcakes or candy for fear of someone going in an

anaphylactic shock.

This isn't normal. What happened to these kids in the 1980's-90's that affected

their brains, central nervous systems and immune systems if not vaccines? What

responsibility do the schools have towards these kids for demanding they be

vaccinated if it turns out years from now to finally be proven it was vaccines?

Then they write a sequel to the Homeland Security Act exonerating all

pharmaceutical companies.

And then they get caught like they did the first time around. I like that

chapter!

As I noted in my post, I eat very organic and do not eat processed foods. I also do not eat artificial sweeteners or additives and buy organic spices.
