Many things can cause back pain. You can't possibly know if the cause is

musculoskeletal or if it's kidneys or urogenital unless you undergo an

appropriate

evaluation by an appropriate (read this as skillful) physician. Good luck.

I have pain in my hip of a different nature now going into week 4.

Yes, I am scared a bit. I used to be a runner and I am leery that this

hip wont last. I feel a bit like the replicant in Blade Runner but I

wont fret about it. I'm lucky to have this artificial hip. I think

apprehension is natural and to some extent intelligent. Good luck,

Jim

i am 5 weeks postop and my back is killing me. does anyone else have back and knee pain? also is anyone scared to face life once the restrictions are lifted. every doctor tells a different story and therefore it makes it hard to read stories and follow his directions. does anyone know what i mean? YES, I HAVE BACK PAIN. CAN YOU GET REFERRED TO A PAIN CLINIC AND FIND OUT WHAT IS CAUSING IT? I HAD COUNTLESS THINGS WRONG WITH ME, BUT THEY ARE FIXING THEM, ONE BY ONE. I AM FOUR WEEKS POST-OP WITH A KNEE, FOLLOWING A HIP LAST OCTOBER. I FEEL LIKE MY LEGS ARE MADE OUT OF LEAD AND IT REQUIRES AN AWFUL LOT OF ENERGY JUST TO MOVE MY BODY THROUGH SPACE. THIS TOO, WILL PASS.

YOUR LIFE MAY END UP A BIT DIFFERENT, BUT GOD HAS PROMISED TO GIVE YOU GRACE TO BEAR WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. WHATEVER HAPPENS, YOU WILL ADJUST AND LIFE WILL GO ON. YOU CAN DO THAT WITHOUT FEAR, TRY A BIT OF CURIOSITY. HOW CAN YOU MEET IT WITH A SMILE ?

YOU ARE THE BEST YOU THAT IS POSSIBLE. YOU ARE THE ONLY YOU THAT EVER HAS BEEN AND EVER WILL BE! SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE. THAT IS PROBABLY WHAT THE DOCTORS UNDERSTAND AND THAT IS WHY EVERYONE HAS A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT STORY. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR STORY. EMAIL ME AND USE MIDGE FOR THE SUBJECT LINE SO I KNOW IT IS PERSONAL.

Back and knee pain here. Both hips replaced in 2001, have oa in knees and will need them replaced too. Wish I knew how to fix the back pain.....think one leg is shorter than the other.....appointment with os again soon. As far as the hip restrictions.....it' scary at first, I know, but it doesn't take long to get in the grove of everyday life.

Welcome Ingrid, First I can give you some feedback from my situation, but

make sure your husband continues to search out Doctors, Pain Specialist

until someone can diagnose him. I've had 3 back surgeries and 1 neck

surgery. I am in disabling pain, but like your husband MRI's, Cat Scans ,

you name it, they can't find a cause or a trigger point to blame it

on, and therefore Shots, therapy etc don't work. After Seeing about 15

doctors in 3 states My last pain specialist came up with a diagnoses of

Facetts disease ( sp?) It's similar to Fibromialga, and is more in the

muscular Skelatal System than the Nerve System. I have pain down my whole

right side, but mainly my Right Shoulder and neck. I treat it with meds

24 x 7, Massages from my wife with a handheld massager ( Homedics about

$60 ) a Homedic Massage pad on my Bed 10 motor about $60 on sale at

Sears, and ICE Packs. The Ice packs really work. I also have a Tens Units

which is a little electronic nerve stimulator that can sometimes break up

the pain cycle. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for being a

Caring Spouse, I'm blessed to have one. Dave

I would not normally suggest this but has he ever had

a discogram?? The procedure is very painful but it can

tell if the disc is bad and if the sack between the

vertebraes is not holding its fluid. I would also like

to know if they checked the MRI for a ruptured disc

that could be possibly pressing up against the spinal

nerves. everything you are saying sounds like the disc

could possibly be traveling in and out of the vetebrae

but has not herniated itself yet the reason being is

that the sack is not holding the fluid properly what

kind of doctor did the MRI??? I had the right side

affected first which was a sign of siatica which is

what I was diagnosed with on a few occasions before my

right side went numb and the left started to hurt that

was when a ortho doc explained that my disc had

shattered fragments were scattered throughout the

lower nerves but when the disc that was left herniated

it popped out to the left and was pushing on the

nerves on the left side my right was affected because

of the disc fragments and the left was because of the

way the disc popped out. the pain if it is the lower

back disc either the L-4-5 or the L-5 S-1 the pain

usually starts with the shrar pain in the back

followed by butt cheek pain (or numbness like tingling

feeling like if his foot were to fall asleep) or it

could be a burning sensation it goes from there to

outer side of the thigh then traveling down the back

side of the calve and ending up in the foot

extremities how does his pain start and diagram it as

if it were to follow down his leg to his foot does it

sound like that at all?? I hope that he is doing

better. Are some days better than others or is he

hurting all the time??? What are his pain levels at??

Have you researched any spine doctors or university

doctors what state are you located in? There is a

member in the group that told me about the spine

center I have here in California and the Stanford

University Doctors that specialize in the spine. I

hope this helps Ingrid I am so very sorry for his pain

and your a GREAT person for helping him and being by

his side through all of this. Have a good evening

Just be careful, as there are many possible causes for the symptoms you

describe.

It will be easy for you to test if the high frequency noise in your wiring is

causing your problem. Just use the filters.

back pain

Hello all,

Thank you so much for your inputs.

I have pain all over, in the muscles and joints, but especially in the

hip going up to the lower back. I think this explains it!

I believe I have found what I was looking for at:

http://www.electricalpollution.com/

Here is the part of the article that I found applied to me.

" Without the proper filters these high frequencies are transmitted

throughout the house's electrical system with the 60 Hz signal. The high

frequencies on home wiring can cause Radiofrequency Sickness. The

symptoms of which can include: sleeplessness or disturbed sleep, fever,

rash, nausea, inability to concentrate, thinking in a fog, short-term

memory problems, sore joints (particularly hip joints), irritable bowel

syndrome, miscarriage, and birth defects. The symptoms that come and go,

particularly the fever, clear up outside of the exposure area as long as

there is not continued exposure to high frequencies from another source. "

Comments anyone?

Thank you so much

These filters do have their advocates, and I'd certainly

be interested in hearing what happens if you try them.

I have very limited experience with these filters,

and it was an unpleasant, piercing headache that caused

me to stop using them rather quickly.

Hello Judy,

electrosmog is guilty for a lot, but not for everything.

Pain in the back and in the legs may come from magnetic DC fields.

These can be found in all metal parts of your bed.

I have just removed the iron footings of our bed, and the difference is

enormously.

Furthermore pain in teh back may come froma shortage of Silicea.

You can takes that as pills, which they sell in drugstores.

Silicea can be made from stones, but it is better to look for those made

from fish shells.

I have been using the Stetzer Filters for about 3 months now both at

home and when I travel. To me, they do make a big difference in that

area of the spectrum. I usually use two power strips and plug in 3 or 4

in each power strip when there is a reading of over 150 or 200 and they

usually bring it down to under 50. I am happy to report that in some

hotels and homes that I have been able to get the reading down to

around 4 (practically nothing). I have been in some buildings where the

readings where so high (over 1500) that the meter blanked out from the

over load. I used about 8 Stetzer filters and brought it down to around

200. Better than nothing.

I think that only using 1 or 2 won't be much help in a bad situation

because the filter will be overload and whine.

With 3 or 4 on one strip, they rarely overload.

my 2 cents,

Interstingly, I always get pain in the lower back and legs when I travel

for long distances by coach. Eg eight hours. I put this down to the

build up of static electricity in the body due to rubber tyres....but

the pain always goes a few minutes after getting out and walking around.

Do you wear regular shoes, or ones with grounding soles? I've found

that grounding soles prevent the shocks I used to get after leaving

my car.

Well, being female I have quite a lot of shoes!! Some of them are made of a

substance that definitely prohibits grounding, whereas others seem ok
