Hope you are feeling better now. Mocha? When you do see your audi, ask

her if she will show you how to take the Freedom apart completely, just so

you can see what is involved. You never know, you may need this when you

are somewhere.

(I bet wants peppermint this time!)

Hi ,

I'm feeling much better now -- thanks. I ended up taking one of my meds to relax

me and went to sleep for awhile. I just woke up (thinking that today was

actually tomorrow LOL) and took my nighttime dose of the daily inhaler I take

for asthma and am doing fine now.

As far as the Freedom is concerned, the only thing I don't know how to do is

insert and remove the magnet. I know how to remove the cable coil, the battery

cage and the controller, but I will ask my audi about all of these things just

the same when I do see her.

Peppermint mocha? How did you know? LOL. That earned you a free mocha yourself

my friend! <smile>

, who can't wait to enjoy her peppermint mocha

Hey I'd have you send me a mocha, but it would probably be cold by the time it

got up here to Alaska.

Hope that peppermint mocha hits the spot! And Jim, I think he must not

know what a microwave oven is for. So maybe we should not send him any

mocha. LOL

Yes, have a little fun at the audi and see what more there is to these

Freedoms. Its kind of like the computer and Windows, always something new

to it.

Hi ,

I'm in a good mood today, so I plan to try attaching the cable coil to my

Freedom as soon as I return home from an appointment I'm getting ready to leave

for.

As for Jim, what else could we send him besides a mocha? How about some coffee

beans? It won't be the same as a mocha, but at least he can still have a

caffeine fix. LOL.

Jim,

Microwaves are devices that produce heat which in turn makes food hot. They come

in very handy especially if you're lazy like me and don't like to use the oven.

LOL.

Let's try this again.

Jim,

Microwaves are devices that heat food. They're especially good for people like

myself who are too lazy to use the oven. LOL.

*sigh* My computer obviously has a mind of its own today. Sorry for the

duplicate message.

To make this CI related, I still have not heard from my audi. I don't know if

she's on vacation, but I plan to send her another e-mail today to find out when

my next appointment with her is.

I'm hoping the new cable coil though will do the trick.

I could use a good mood myself! LOL I did just have coffee so am

getting there.

I am afraid Jim wont know what to do with coffee beans for undoubtedly,

he has no inkling what a coffee mill is. So no point in telling him what a

microwave oven does. LOL

The nice thing about email is that they work better than playing phone

tag. The drawback is, you dont know if the recipient received the email. I

sent an email to someone at city hall a month ago and have not heard back.

Grrrr.

Let us know how the new coil is working out for you.

Mona,

Do you know how to separate the controller from the battery section?

Because if you're going to use the 2 battery disposable option, that's

different from using a rechargeable battery, which requires a different

controller, etc. So just act like you're brand new at the audi dept and

have her show you how it's done so you can practice.

Was so HOT here today, and I was having a garage sale. 88 degrees.

Threat of thunderstorms. 2 neighbors who were supposed to participate

didn't, one because it was too hot, and the other because her mother

wasn't ready. So when we finished, we put most of the stuff back in the

garage (there were 3 of us doing it at my place). Then I heard it's not

a thunderstorm but a HUGE storm. Figured I'd better take the tents all

the way down and store them (in my car), and all the tables so they

aren't flying off to Oz or somewhere.

Nimue was so antsy with all the people coming in and out of the garage

area, that she tried to climb the fence. Literally caught her with her

bottom paws about 2 rungs up and trying to move all the way. I threw up

a baracade to keep her away from the corner, and then only had to re do

the baracade every 10 minutes. My dog is smarter than I am.

Brought her in when the rain started, and she was so scared, she went

under the kitchen table, which is where Phoenix, the previous dog, used

to hide during thunderstorms. Nimue's den is under the sewing machine,

but apparantly wasn't " safe enough " . She'll sleep inside tonight.

Don't want her mastering the fine art of fence climbing!

At least the rain took away the humidity, which was WAY too high. So

should be comfortable for the next couple of days.

I am glad to hear that you have found some relief for your knee. I know it has

to be so frusrating for you know.? I pray that the new med will soon beging

working for your hands and wrists.? I know that some of the meds take six weeks

or more to see the best results so I am praying for you to have the patience you

need to get to that place.? I will pray that by the time school starts you will

be feeling very well.? I am also glad to know that you blood in your urine is

gone. I have no knowledge about that sort of thing.? I know many people that

have passed stones and have never heard of anyone that it was not very painful

for. But then you are an amazing young woman and probably you have a high pain

tollerance after all you have been through.? When you get the chance to see the

doctor be sure to address the issue even though it is in the past. I know

sometimes we just let things go after they are done and don't want to talk about

them. I hope you are enjoying your summer getting ready for your new job. I hope

that your new insurance will be accepted by your rheumy.? I know that alone can

cause stress just getting that all lined out.? We are still dealing with

insurance issues with Jaye. Her rheumy accepts her insurance but she has

not been approved by the neurologist to be seen yet. He will only take a certain

number of patients on medicaid so we are not sure.? She has an appoiintment with

the neuro on Friday so we are praying each day that the approval comes through.

Changing a neuro would be devistating for her at this point she has been with

him since shortly after her seizures were diagnosed.?

Update

I have been taking the Azithoriprine for about two weeks now. Not a huge

improvement but no big side effects either. I am still incredibly stiff and

painful and my hands and wrists are useless for the first five hours each

morning. I have found some relief in my knee which has been treatment resistant

for the last two years, so whether that is due to the new drug or the prednisone

increase I am not sure but I am definitely enjoying that.

The problem with the blood in the urine stopped. I am confused as to what it

would be part of me wonders if it was kidney stones as I passed three rice

shaped things (about long grain sized) with blood attached (TMI I know) but I

wasn't have extreme pain or anything. My insurance situation is tricky right now

so I wasn't able to go see a doctor about it. I still have insurance but the

payments on the appointments is soo expensive. My new insurance starts in August

through my job so when I go see my rheumy I will talk to her about it. At this

point I still need to figure out whether or not my rheumy will take my new

insurance. I hope everyone is doing well.

I really hope they let her keep seeing her neuro since he is already so familiar

with her case. It's so hard to build up rapport with a new doctor when you have

a complex case. I will keep her in my prayers that the approval comes through! I

have accepted the fact that I might not get to keep seeing her but it honestly

would suck. When I switched from peds to adult Dr. C came highly recommended

from my old pediatric rheumy Dr. Sanborg because she works with all of the adult

JIA patients from Lucille Packard Children's hospital. She understands that

pediatric onset arthritis in adults is very different from adult onset

arthritis. However I also know if they don't take it that I am very lucky to

live in the San Francisco bay area where there are hundreds of doctors. I

believe UCSF is covered on my insurance so I may be able to transfer up there

where I know there are doctors who work with adult JIA patients. Being an adult

is hard, being an adult with a

pre-existing condition can be just downright annoying.

Love always

Yes, Jeff, my PT wouldn't work with me when I had pain and swelling, you are

really supposed to rest, ice, elevate when this happens.

I know it's a bummer because it is a setback. In the end it will be OK.

Hi Hollie,

I realize that from many previous rounds of pt, but wanted his input and at

least I got some treatment for it.

I'm sure it'll be fine, just frustrating to have a setback. I really don't think

it's anything serious but worth getting checked out by os.

Take care,

Jeff

update

It has been a very long 9 days. went in for meniscus repair on his knee

August 20th. The first few days seemed to be normal post op issues. Swelling,

pain and irritability. However, all symptoms increased and fever set in by 24th.

Communications with doc took us through a change in meds but things only got

worse. A call to the Dr on Wednesday evening took us to the ER. We learned the

symptoms were not normal and the knee had too much fluid on it. 80 mls were

drained and we were sent home at 6:00am with antibiotics. The white cell count

was double what it should have been indicating infection so we did as instructed

and went to the orthopedic Dr early morning on the 26th. After an eval and

looking at the ER report we were sent across the street for a second surgery.

This was to drain more fluid, look at the knee and clean up what could be

cleaned. was admitted and an infectious disease dr was called in.

Samples were sent out to be cultured but nothing conclusive yet. However the

knee has refilled with fluid, despite antibiotic treatment white count is still

up and will be going back to the O.R. at 1:00 pm tomorrow...please say a

prayer for him. He is tired, scared and just wanats to get back to school and

the ROTC program!
