Guest guest
Thanks for the info about dairy. I used cayenne a number of years ago to reduce my cholesterol ( it worked) but at the time was not doing any dairy. Now of course Kefir is well into my daily regimen- so is cheese, I still do the hot peppers but not as much and no cayenne capsules. Not sure how I would work the cayenne back into my routine these days- kefir is just far too important to give it up. huggs zoe Thursday, November 9, 2006, 10:59:41 AM, you wrote: > Alobar and others- > I bought a pound of Cayenne powder from herbalcom.com about 3 years ago. > Then, they only had one kind and I don't know what the heat units were, all > I know is that it's HOT. Guest guest
Daddybob, thanks for the info. you mentioned you got stronger. can i ask what your problem was that went away by having the cayenne powder? i am just asking because my problem is ulcerative colitis. i am in remissin, but i ahve stopped taking medicine and dont' want to ever go back on it. so as beneficial as it is, perhaps cayenne may not be the thing for me. seems it's great for things like cholesterol/heart. do u know what other benefits it has? also, have you ever tried it with vco, as suggested by Dr. fife? and do you drink kefir? i love kefir, usually have two cups a day. but i guess thats' not a problem if you take the cayenne once a day in the morning, and wait an hour after having the cayenne right? thanks. vandana in wash dc On 11/9/06, ransley <ransley@...> wrote: > > Alobar and others- > > I bought a pound of Cayenne powder from herbalcom.com about 3 years ago. > Then, they only had one kind and I don't know what the heat units were, > all > I know is that it's HOT. Guest guest
Is there a link that gives the benifits of Cayenne. This sounds to good to miss out on. My problem would be that my stomach cant handle hot stuff. I used to love curry, but now my poor gut cant handle it for some reason. Any links info about this appreciated. And what about a good supplier ? I had to laugh when you said 90,000 heat units..I miss read it as 90,000 BTU's...he he. Daddybob...please bore us with the details !! Guest guest
> Daddybob i'm interested in the fact you said it helped muscularity? and made you stronger. How does it do that? If it does that i will definately carry on taking it. Do you still get some benefits from the supermarket variety or has it got to be strong stuff to get muscles stronger. It's getting cold here now. So i think its a great winter warmer. I'm going to put it in herbal fruit teas, is this okay. Sally > Is there a link that gives the benifits of Cayenne. Guest guest
If the mouth can taste the cayenne, the stomach is prepared to receive it. If one tastes the cayenne, one will not take in too much. One can get very bad stomach pain from cayenne capsules, especially if one takes a lot. Guest guest
The other day, I painted a bedroom for six hours, and am having a lot of neck pain from all the stretching and ladder work. This morning I took some cayenne tincture and lathered it on my neck, massaging it all in, and it really has helped the soreness and pain. I think cayenne and coconut oil are two of the most underrated things in the world! W

Guest guest
Cayenne increases blood flow so your brain may be getting more oxygen than usual. Also, cayenne increases the impact of other herbs, so if you use caffeine, it may be having a stronger effect on you than usual. Guest guest
I have been on high-dose cayenne for a few weeks now. I went thru over half a pound of 90,000 shu cayenne in less than 10 days. I am now using a bit less of the 130,000 shu cayenne. My other supplements (especially Alpha Lippoic Acid, Benfortamine, and Acetyl L-Carnitine) have given me a buzz for quite a while now, so I have not noted any additional buzz from cayenne. Since taking cayenne, I tend to sleep more soundly and have to break sleep less often to empty my bladder. You said " I tend to sleep more soundly and have to break sleep less often to empty my bladder. " this is because you are so hot its evaporating from your body because of the heat. how long did it take to work up to that amount ? Are you getting your fire powder from Jcrow ? Guest guest
Not like coffee. More like feeling younger and more adventurous. Below is a pullquote and URL for the article which prompted me to try ALC and ALA. The URL to the info on Benfotiamine no longer works, so to find out more about Benfotiamine, check out my blog where I posted the article 2 yeqars ago. http://alobar.livejournal.com/1038393.html ------------------- A team of researchers led by Bruce N. Ames, professor of molecular and cell biology at UC Berkeley, fed older rats two chemicals normally found in the body's cells and available as dietary supplements: acetyl-L-carnitine and an antioxidant, alpha-lipoic acid. In three articles in the February 19 issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Ames and his colleagues report the surprising results. Not only did the older rats do better on memory tests, they had more pep, and the energy-producing organelles in their cells worked better. " With the two supplements together, these old rats got up and did the Macarena, " said Ames, also a researcher at Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI). " The brain looks better, they are full of energy - everything we looked at looks more like a young animal. " " The animals seem to have much more vigor and are much more active than animals not on this diet, signaling massive improvement to these animals' health and well-being, " said former UC Berkeley post-doctoral fellow Tory M. Hagen, now an assistant professor at the Linus ing Institute at Oregon State University, Corvallis. " And we also see a reversal in loss of memory. That is a dual-track improvement that is significant and unique. This is really starting to explode and move out of the realm of basic research into people. Guest guest
Hon, Im thinking that is a temporary reaction. The cayenne is one of the most important things you can do for your body, especially if you have heart disease or even the symptoms. Strongly suggest you try it again, and give it a chance to finish detoxing your body. Im sure the sleeplessness will go away in time. I use it a lot and no longer find that it keeps me awake. huggs zoe Thursday, November 30, 2006, 4:40:13 PM, you wrote: > I don't know if you all will remember but I was complaining that > the VCO kept me hyped up and awake most of the night, so I had to cut back. > WRONG!!! > It was the Cayenne and I had to give it up. Guest guest
I would stay way from cayenne in pills or capsules. Use in food or make a cayenne tea. You can start slowly and work your way up to a large dose as you get used to it. Guest guest
Im having trouble using it because it burns my throat. Im on the 40- 60,000 heat and thats nothing. Im taking 3/4 of a 1/4 teaspoon twice daily in water. But it is raising my body temp which what I wanted. VCO never did this for me. I even had a fever in the middle of the day that lasted 4 hours. I felt like I was on fire. I did feel better than usual the next day. Im sticking with it though. Maybe I'll get use to the heat soon. Guest guest
Cayenne tea gets easier to take if the cayenne is boiled in water for 10 minutes, then allowed to sit. I make up 2 quarts at a time, then store in the refrigerator until I need it. Also -- I sip the tea, rather than chugging it down. Sipping the tea followed by a sip of cold water also helps. Guest guest
Bonnie- It's your business but I'd never give up that easy, especially if you were already seeing cardiac benefits. Cayenne is WAY too important to me not to find ways to deal with any downside. Consider: You took it in capsules. That never caused me anything but trouble. You may be bypassing an important digestion process by doing that which may be at the root of the over-stimulation problem. I urge you not to do that. I suggest mixing only 1/8 teaspoon (or less) in cold water first thing in the morning, then leave it alone the rest of the day. See if that plays out differently; if it does, you'll be on your way to building a tolerance. BTW, after getting used to it, you can try the same amount in warm/hot water before moving up in quantity. It is stronger in warmer water. I suggest starting out with cold. Maybe try oleoresin of cayenne/capsicum, available from Jcrows, Dr. Schulze or Ebay. That is the essential oil, and might be devoid of some other ingredient that over-stimulates you. I have not tried this yet myself, just a thought. About making it into a tea, this is not to disagree with Alobar, but making it into a tea makes me nauseous. I have to drink it as soon as I mix it. If it sets for several minutes, I can't stand it. Try putting some in a shaker and maybe lightly spicing breakfast or lunch with it, but not using it after lunch. I cover up my breakfast in hot sauce, and often my lunch, but not my supper. If I eat a pepper-hot meal late, I'll be up late. I have used cayenne along with coffee to stay alert late. If you can't take cayenne in water, or on food, try building up your hot tolerance with mild hot sauces on food. Just don't start out with Tabasco or anything with bragging phrases or flames on the label. Hot sauces, no matter how hot they are, are still not as hot as the straight powder.
