Guest guest
Dear Jan, I've been reading those same reports. I guess it goes along with the concept of moderation. My GI wants me to watch my fluid intake because of the ascites and also keep my sodium down (he said 2000mg) and both of those things seem to help. But when I have a fever or it's hot (at least in my NW opinion), I follow what my body wants for liquid and I haven't had any trouble (knock on wood!) I'll second that regarding waters impact on health. Apparently ome of the worst water for people with ES is " reverse osmosis " type water since they take out everything including vital energy - so when one drinks the water the water saps your bodies natural electrical system. I learned this from a bio- energy machine manual that I use to keep my Chi energy in tact. I know of a great tap water purifier by biozonescientific that provides UV plus triple carbon filtering, and is inexpensive, and can just attach to your faucet. It provides almost ideal water since it leaves many essential minerals & energy in tact, but gets rid of bacteria and chemicals. Guest guest
Hi Glenn, Marc etc.. I joined this group recently and yes - its good to have others to talk about regarding ES. I have milder symptoms now than before, am cured of 50hz, still have problems with mobile phones, large EMF fields etc - I'll post more of my story later when It's not so late (here in Australia). Anyhow - on water - has anyone tested the Wellness filters for ES sufferers? - I used to get dry peeling skin on my hands which I was told was due to the chlorine in the water (its hot here so apparently they put more cloriine in the water) so I bought a wellness shower filter and those problems have gone completely! Re ES, I work with computers daily and had slept next to an electrical meter box on the reverse of our bedroom wall (1 foot or so away with a reading of between 50-200mg) while using 3 computer monitors during the day for about 10 years (the radiating type of course!) I then worked in a wireless network/phone environent (200 or so wireless devices within 50 meters) for a couple of years, and was always hyper and uncomfortable in there. I now work at home and have physically moved away from most of the electrical items - have Dual LCD screens, and am looking at getting the house rewired as it is wired in a strange way that puts fields through our house due to the neutral line from others houses discharging to earth through our water pipe and ground stake (even though the water pipe has been isolated from the street with a plastic sheath!). This 'non'-current passes through all our bedrooms (I have 3 children) and though they are low where we have placed all the beds, it limits what you can do with the rooms. I alos know 2 people who have extreme symptoms, 1 in the US and another here in Australia, who became sensitive over-night by holding a mobile phone to one ear and a cordless walkabout phone to the other at the same time - she felt something weird happen in her head and Bingo - she now eats with candles not electric lights as the electricity flowing in the wires hurts her too much. I believe there are so many explanations of the emotional kind relating to domestic and corporate electrical causes, road rage, hyperactivity, that its possible that ES is affecting most people now and yet most dont know it is possible so don't ever attribute it correctly, and of course the medical community has to play catch up. I recently handed my GP (Doctor) a booklet explaining EMF ES and have yet to go back and get a comment but it will be interesting.. I really should go get some sleep but its nice to be a participant in this forum - especially as we can pool research and ideas and maybe help each other a little. Guest guest
Sometimes I drink Trinity bottled water - the blue label, lower mineral content one. Most of the time at home I drink filtered water from a water filter (Amway) attached to my faucet. Water I'm curious how everyone takes their water? Do you use the large bottles with a dispenser, drink only plastic bottled water, use a Britta or other kind of filtered pitcher or just drink the tap water? I keep seeing the dispensers on sale for the large bottles of water and am wondering if its worth it to use those. Tom
Guest guest
We have spring water which is lovely right into our home. I use a hot cold dispenser from Sam's- it was $$$ but worth every penny of it. I drink from an old coke 20 oz. plastic bottle (a old mind trip to fool one of my senses I was still drinking Coke) however, this bottle is now green - kinda like the old glass bottles-LOL. The green is from algae because the bottle sits in our window. I hope fresh water algae is not an avoid. (I do not have algae growing anywhere else in my house, BTW.) The algae is just barely coating the inside of the bottle. I know everyone is thinking " Yum " , " get another bottle " , but I love my bottle! If you like cold water, get a water dispenser that cools only- they are less pricey. I keep the hot portion turned off because it makes our room hot- doesn't take much in Texas. Guest guest
I bought a Sunbeam Water Cooler from Home Depot. It was $99 and has hot, cold and room temp water. I rented one for 6 years and decided to buy one about a year ago. I love it. And I have Crystal Springs water delivered. Thanks for the lecithin tips. I have a friend who works for Continental Mills and he will keep me supplied! =)

Guest guest
We use spring water in huge bottles with a cooler that we purchased. We have well water which is treated with softeners and a filter but we cannot stand the taste of it. We also tried using our Brita on this well water and still can't handle the taste. So bottled water it is for us. Costco sells large spring water bottles for use with a home dispenser that are rectangle shaped. I think Bear is the brand. It is less expensive than home delivery of all home delivery services. I bought my cooler at Amazon because I love the look of the top having a cover so that I don't have to view the huge advertisement on the front of the bottle of water. Note that right now on Amazon the black one is $99 and the white one is $179. Full retail is $199. Shipping is free. So if you like the idea to cover the ad, consider this brand! It is " Addico milano " . When I bought mine from Amazon it was priced at $149 for white. Important note is that rectangle shaped bottles (as sold at Costco) don't fit under the cover. This model has 2 temperatures for water: room temp and cold. There is no hot water option. So for us, we bought this cooler so we could disguise the advertisement. Then we were lured by discount to buy from Costco instead and for months we tripped over to Costco to buy the water. We got sick of shlepping over to get the water because we found we'd go there just for water and would spent $100 or more on other stuff we happened to see that we decided to buy!! So we changed to home delivery of the cheapest one we could find (Crystal Rock). Now we are able to use the cover on the cooler as intended and I am happier that I don't have to read a big ad at every glance to the water cooler. Around here Crystal Rock is much less expensive than Poland Springs. For 6 years before moving to this house with a well we had city water and used the Brita and were fine with that. We bought the big Brita filter, is it 1 gallon or 2 gallon? The only pain was having to refill it (it is heavy) and the space it took up in the fridge. We bought the filters at Costco for huge discount compared to full retail. Now that I have the freestanding water cooler I am much happier as it is SO convenient. Also now that my kids are old enough to get their own water they can serve themselves easily from the water cooler rather than having to go into the fridge to a high shelf to access that big Brita filter we had. I have my kids drinking only spring water for liquids. My inlaws have the pitcher Brita and what a pain in the neck. One pitcher does not make enough for us to get through dinner (yes, we drink water with our dinner). It is also top-heavy when it is in the filtering stage and can be annoying to handle, or hard for kids. Also when refilling frequently, such as when our family is all together for a party, it means the newly filtered water is not chilled. A friend bought whatever cooler is sold at Home Depot (they only sell one) and she likes it. Hers has a hot water function which she rarely uses. It also has a nifty little shelf/compartment underneath the cooler so she stores plastic cups in there for her kids to access themselves and to serve themselves cold water. We also buy Poland Springs 24 oz bottles at Costco for use in car or on trips. It is so much less expensive than buying single-ly in grocery store, etc.
Guest guest
Brita filter here to remove chlorine. (Our municipal water has won a statewide award for being the yummiest.) And an embarassing amount of carbonated water, seltzer, club soda etc. I've had two people mentioned that they heard that drinking seltzer or other carbonated water inhibits calcium absorption. Then I also know some other O's who don't do the BTD who swear, as I do, that they can't live without the stuff! Dr. D says its a beneficial for us O's, but does anyone know anything about the calcium issue? Robin
