There is no cure. Ask your doctor if he thinks

you're cured!

Ok. enough. This is going nowhere. I think I get

the picture here.

I was pre-diabetic and now I am cured. Fasting Blood glucose has been

under 100. It was around 110-118 before.

Outdoors girl,

What would happen if you stopped taking any coconut oil?

I'm assuming you're saying it's caused by the coconut oil,

right?

Do you think your FBG would go back the way it was (110-118)

if you stopped taking the coconut oil?

Hi,

All I did was stop eating foods with trans fats and damaged fats like

vegetable oils. I try to keep my diet balanced. I eat fresh whole

foods and plenty of healthy fats like butter, coconut oil, lard,

olive oil, animal fat found in bacon and meats. I eat 2 or 3 eggs

fried in butter and coconut oil almost every day. Mostly organic

fruits and vegetables and meats from pasture raised animals. I also

include lacto-fermented vegetables and raw dairy foods like Kiefer,

raw goats milk, raw cheese, raw yogurt. With the raw plain yogur I

add fresh blueberries, coconut oil and vanilla flavor.

A couple of nights I went to a birthday party and eat barbeque food

like Hot dogs, potato salad then later that evening a large piece of

ice cream cake. The next morning after 12 hours I thought for sure

my fasting blood glucose would be high but it was 93. Yeahh...

I'm sure if I went back to my old eating habits that cause the pre-

diabetes it will come back. This healty way of eating works for me

so I will continue eating the way our great grandparents ate when

diabetes, cancer and heart disease was rare.

Well, it sounds like you are eating fairly low carb in general.

If you went back to your old eating habits, and stopped taking

cocnut oil, and if your blood glucose goes back up, then you are

not cured. You have just achieved really good control, and

that's pretty darn great, but it's not being cured.

A cure means you are completely fine now, and don't need the

treatment any more. For example, take getting the flu.

Either your body fights it off, or you get antibiotics

and/or tamiflu, and you get better. You can stop taking

the medicine, or stop staying in bed to help your body fight

it, and you go back to your normal activities.

Then, for example, there's another disease caused by viruses,

that there is no cure for - AIDS. In that case, all you can

do is treat it to prevent it from getting worse, and try to

keep yourself feeling as well as possible. All that can

be achieved is control, and hopefully prevention of

progression. That is the situation with diabetes.

When I first started testing my bg levels, it was pointed

out to me that eating low carb *is* treatment, and to get

an idea of what's really going on with me, I'd have to eat

a " regular or high carb " meal, then test.

With pre-diabetes, I've heard it's possbile to reverse it,

but haven't seen any clear evidence aobut that. With full

out diabetes, no, even if many diabetics are able to maintain

their blood glucose in a normal range by eating low carb.

Being able to eat potato salad at a party is really great,

really amazing control. I'd be happy if I could have milk

again.

It takes discriminition to know the difference between " cure "

and " good control. "

Thanks. I also lost 30 pounds. That may have helped too. You're

not suppose to eat a high carb diet on a regular basis anyway. Once

in a while I do. I eat carbs I just don't overeat carbs anymore.

You are suppose to eat the amount your body needs. If you exercise

you can eat more carbs. My pancreas is still functioning ok. I just

had some insulin resistance and I read that trans fats will cause

that. What I need is an oil change. LOL

Any one suffering from diabetes my find the info on this site helpful.

This doctor says that an eating plan emphasizing good fats and

reduced nonfiber carbohydrates/starches as outlined in his book " The

Rosedale Diet " and Dr. Mercola's " Total Health Program " will greatly

improve and even reverse type 2 " insulin resistant " diabetes, heart

disease, hypertension, many other chronic diseases of aging, and even

aging itself, as many of his patients who have been able to totally

eliminate the use of their drugs, including insulin, can attest.

No body is cured of eating wrong unless they start eating right. Look at the

diabetes epidemic in the US. We are all sick and can't get over it. Because we

do not eat for nutrition, we eat for pleasure. If we eat wrong we GET SICK, if

we eat right we are CURED. Cured people can get SICK like sick people can get

better. Don't tell the people that have been cured from AIDS there is no cure.

If you can't accept that people can get well from a disease fine. Just do not

try to tell the rest of us that have gotten better that there is no such thing.

It perpetuates the myth the doctors like to portray, you can't help it, it is

inherited.

Most of the time I avoid starch and white flour products. I do eat

fruits and vegetables and lots of raw milk and other raw dairy foods.

This morning I had 4 fruit and for lunch I ate a salad and lasagna so

lots of carbs today. No coconut oil today. Not sure what I'm having

for dinner yet. I'll check my blood sugar tomorrow morning after a

12 hour fast and see where it's at.

I wonder if coconut oil can cure AIDS. Coconut oil kills the HIV

virus. Studies show patients viral load drops tremendously after

eating 6 tablespoons of coconut oil for about 6 months. If you eat

the foods that strengthen your immune system and eat coconut oil can

you become HIV negative I wonder?

, either you do not really understand what the word

" cure " means, or you do not want to. Or you do not want

to accept reality.

so where are these people who have been cured from AIDS?

Can you produce them?

It's just a matter of semantics, cure versus control,

but let me ask you, what would happen if you started eating

carbs, and stopped eating coconut? If your blood glucose

goes up again, then you are not cured. I refer you back to

my flu versus AIDS example. Think about it.

I think you just want to be able to tell yourself you are

cured.

And btw, I never said any such thing. YOu are twisting *my*

words. diabetics have more control over the progression of

their disease than other people many with other diseases do.

But you don't understand the distinction between control and

cure.

I thought you told me privately that you were going to ignore

my posts from now on? Please, stick to it.

I have read of babies who were born with HIV who were later declared HIV free.I

do not remember what site it was on.I dont see why this is not possible. Given

the foods and fresh air and pure water our bodies were designed to heal

themselves.

What is your definition of a cure?

Since there is no proof that HIV causes AIDS and the AIDS tests are

wrong as often as they are right, I do not feel any real

unsterstanding of AIDS can develop until the AIDS Industry allows

dissidents to do more reseach.

Yesterday I ate 4 pieces of fruit for breakfast and for lunch I ate a

salad and lasagna. On the way home from work around 6pm I at a large

soft pretzel dipped in butter. Around 8:30pm last night I ate some

lacto-fermented vegetables and 16 ounces of raw goats milk. No

coconut oil yesterday. I checked my Fasting blood glucose 9am this

morning and it was 93.

This morning I ate 3 eggs fried in butter and coconut oil. 16 ounces

of goats milk with 2 teaspoons of coconut oil mixed in the goat milk.

(coconut oil off the spoon makes me gag)LOL. 1 slice of sprouted

grain toast with raw butter on the toast and sea salt. A hand full

of organic black berries. 4 ounces of beet kvass. And a 3 fork fulls

of lacto-fermented vegetables.

2 hours later I tested my blood glucose and to my surprise it was

86. I tested it again 1 minute later and again it said 86.

1 month update.

My fasting blood glucose is still around 90. It was 110-118 (pre-

diabetes). I've been eating more carbs too. I can eat pie now at

night and my blood glucose will be under 100 the next morning. So it

looks like eating plenty of saturated fats in you diet like coconut

oil and butter and eliminating the Trans fats might cure you if you

have diabetes. It took me almost a year to cure my pre-diabetes.

Give it a try.

Hi,

I'm new to the group and was wondering how much coconut oil you take a day.

Is this particular for diabetes? If you are using coconut cream, does that

work as well and do you have to adjust the dosage?

Thanks,

I was taking 3 to 4 tablespoons a day. I also eat other healthy fats

like raw butter, olive oil, cod liver oil. I was also drinking raw

milk, eating raw yogurt, raw cheese, lacto fermented vegetables, drink

beet kvass, I eat 2 or 3 fresh farm fertile eggs almost everyday along

with vegetables and a little fruit. Just stay away from all processed

foods as much as you can. That stuff is making most people sick in the

long term.
