Guest guest
Sylvia, I'll call tomorrow and let them know your email. His name is Avery, I don't know what his email is, but I'll try to let you know when you might expect an email from him. It was a delight talking with him and easy, if that would encourage you on the phone! I assume after the 90 days more foods are introduced back into the diet, slowly. That's a complete assumption on my part, I have not asked him that yet. How he found the program..He said he saw the ad on tv and he immediately felt like God told him to buy it. He said he never buys anything off the tv but he really felt strongly that God wanted him to buy that. He said it said on their dining room table for 2 wks. He grabbed the book to read as they were off to go camping or such. That's when it all started. I told him I was so happy for him because for at least 3 years I've heard from the rest of the family how concerned they were for him. So this is huge good news for that family! Guest guest
, he just started this program 30 days ago. It’s a 90 day program. . I don’t know what happens at 90 days….I didn’t ask. I only ‘know’ that the 90 days are to help your body heal and cleanse from inflammation, etc. I don’t know if he’ll have a complete healing or whether it would he could control it with diet. That would be something to ask him when I talk to him another time. I only imagine after 90 days he can start incorporating some other foods into his diet. I do not know that for a fact. _____ From: Coconut Oil [mailto:Coconut Oil ] On Behalf Of Sent: Wednesday, August 04, 2010 3:49 PM Coconut Oil Subject: Re: diabetes Marsha, Did he completely heal himself of diabetes? > > > I just found out from my friend, Barbara, the story on her brother. Guest guest
Hi, After 44+ years of Hep C, I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. Have not treated for Hep C--mine is very slow moving.( And I am 76) I started metformin in July. I have lost 18 lbs without trying as metformin helps with weight control. Metformin stopped my incontinance problems within a week. I thought my incontinance was caused by my age, but it was caused by my diabetes, As Don wrote, metformin is being studied in England as a cure for Hep C. Just type in metformin-hepc and some articles will come up. Seems it is helping mice with hep c. I don't have much trouble with metformin except occasional stomach problems. It says to take with food and that helps some. I wish I could say that I have gotten my blood sugar under control. but I haven't so I have no words of wisdom to share. There are lots of free classes on diabetes and there are forums as well. What I do know is that sugar is hard on the liver as well as on our blood sugar levels. The class told me to check the carb content on ALL I ate instead of calories. I was shocked at how loaded with carbs most everything is. But there was NO info given on the combo of Hep C and diabetes. Veggies and small amounts of meat seems to be the answer, but, hell, I don't know. Exercise is supposed to help a lot. If anyone comes up with something, let me know. SuziQ

Guest guest
Hi Sylvia, yes, he is doing great and he still recommends the breaking 100 program. His sister is a friend of mine so she keeps me posted. As I said he is doing great, his doctor is thrilled with his tremendous progress and has told other patients about it. He eats as the program outlines and he no longer has alcohol or a desire for it. He has lost weight also and he and his wife walk every day. I don't know if he does any other exercise. _____ From: Coconut Oil [mailto:Coconut Oil ] On Behalf Of SYLVIA PRICE Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2010 11:27 PM Coconut Oil Subject: Re: diabetes I have left this message in tact so everyone can read the whole thing. Guest guest
Can anyone here help me think through the raw food thing? For example, I have been trying to juice since July, but have run out of patience with my own level of culinary imagination. I bought an Omega juicer and have used it much since getting it, but have lately slacked off because of the massive accumulation of pulp filling up my freezer. I saved it all because I don't like to waste anything, and your body needs the pulp, too. But I don't know how to use it up as fast as I make it when I juice two times a day. So, about smoothies. I tried putting pulp in the blender with water, but a little pulp goes a long way and the drink was thick and there was much to drink. You smoothie makers are blending the whole fruit and veggie. How do you do it and not end up with way too much thick shake? Do your smoothies actually come out smooth? My blender is a Braun and I have had it for several years. It seems like a good one to me, but I know I bought it before I knew anything like I know now. There are four blades, two up and two downward, and they are sort of sharp. Do I have the wrong juicer and the wrong blender to do what I am wanting to do now?
Guest guest
Steve,I am diabetic and your symptoms do point to blood sugar rather than thyroid. A lot of the symptoms are the same, such as tiredness but the thirst one isn't and that is quite a prominent symptom in diabetes. When do you check your blood sugar as that is important as to the readings. If your readings are high before a meal (and you haven't been snacking in between) that is an indicator that you could be diabetic. If you take your blood sugar reading two hours after a meal then it would be at it's highest but there again it depends what you had for that meal.If you had say a couple rashers bacon and a couple of scrambled eggs with a tomato and two hours after it was very high then this could signify diabetes. However if your meal was a plateful of pasta with meat sauce, a couple of pieces garlic bread, and apple pie and ice cream afterwards and then got a high reading two hours after, that would be expected. However it would go high if you are not diabetic, but for a diabetic it would go through the roof I would get it checked again though as the warning bells for diabetes are losing weight, thirsty all the time, and infections. If you tell your doctor those three symptoms he should test you without even asking him. You could ask him if an HbA1c test would be preferable to a glucose tolerance test. The HbA1c tests your average blood sugar over the previous three months. The difference is that the HbA1c is a non fasting blood test. The other one I think you have to fast for X hours, they test your blood then give you some awful (so I have been told) highly sugared drink and then you have to wait for a couple of hours and then they test your blood again. Guest guest
>Is it possible to have normal blood glucose readings but still have problems with diabetes/glucose/insulin, kind of like " normal " thyroid results but still hypothyroid ? Yes i believe so - you can have normal glucose but high fasting insulin (like me). 'insulin resistance'/'prediabetes' you can get fasting insulin tested.....think redapple/nutrition21 will do it if your gp won't but get glucose done at same time.... some drs might give you metformin off label to help with this i think....(i asked for and got metformin ) do you eat low GI? small amounts little and often? i read today that caffiene prevents insulin being used properly and worsen insulin resistance chris > > > Is it possible to have normal blood glucose readings but still have problems with diabetes/glucose/insulin, kind of like " normal " thyroid results but still hypothyroid ? > > Lastly what are the best ways to get tested for diabetes, Fasting/Random Glucose ? > > Thanks > Steve >

Guest guest
Steve,You only need one of those tests initially not all of them. Metformin is a tablet. Some people find they cannot tolerate it at first but the body soon gets used to it, if you persevere and is worth it. But it is the only medication of its kind. However, initially, if it is thought you are diabetic they will try you with diet alone. You will have to then tell the doctor that you already eat a low carbohydrate diet. Metformin did make a difference and as things got worse I had a sulphonyurea (which makes pancrease produce more insulin) and then after 20 years I was put on insulin and metformin. Guest guest
Thank you very much for your replies Lilian, it has helped me to get my head around all this. I spoke to my drs secetary who said she will speak with the doctor about which tests to get, i mentioned all 4 of them to her and she said usually the tolerance test is only done if any of the others come back abnormal, but the other 3 she will probably have no problem with which is good. About eyesight you mentioned, funnily enough i had perfect eyesight the whole time i was well up until around the age of 18/19, and now i need glasses but also my eyesight changes on a daily basis, as text on a wall the same distance away each day in my office is sometimes blurred and other times crystal clear!
