Guest guest
I know we talk here about free care etc, but didn't realize how quick it could be.A friend of mine was ready to start treatment when he got laid off. Even if he COBRA'ed over, they'd only cover about 50% of tx costs.Randy had just posted a link about free meds, which I forwarded to my friend. We haven't talked for a bit, then someone here mentioned the same basic scenario, with the result of their meds being free.I forwarded that to my friend also, who replied that he was just waiting on the paperwork from Roche and they were covering everything except his $10 copay! That was in just 2-3 weeks, so they work pretty quick in it.For those of you that may want to talk to a person, my friend also forwarded me the number for the Roche program: 866-247-5084SteveLife is much more fun when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party. LOL We had a few cold days here in NJ last month, then the 70's again for a few days, then cool again but not cold. All the trees were still in full color, many still green, up to about a week ago when we had a windy storm blow through. Overnight it went from looking like gorgeous autumn to winter-is-coming. Today we drove to Ed's aunt and back and trees that were still full of leaves Monday when we were up that way are now bare. It was drizzling steady the whole time we were out and it just felt like winter wold be here any day now. I don't want it! I wanna go back to Florida, this winter more than ever! I'm just so COLD, even in the house with long sleeves and a thermal sweatshirt on! Yeah, my thyroid must still be down. Another month to my next round of lab work. >In perspective, they said on the news this morning that *somewhere* in Alaska was reporting 33 degrees this morning. I couldn't believe it: it's warmer in Alaska than Washington state today! Like those days during the summer when it was hotter in NJ than in Florida. >It's supposed to warm up tomorrow with a high of 18 and the overnight low 15, then into the 20s and low 30s over the weekend. We had a blizzard warning, etc the other night due to all of the blowing and drifting snow. I think we've gotten between 8-12" at my house, but it's hard to know what is actual countable snowfall and what is from drifting. I can NOT complain about drizzles and 40º!! Looks like you're in for another bad winter. >I fell down this morning. Yes, I fell on my knees. Lost my balance. My body in general is not happy after falling and twisting everything, but my knees especially are not happy. Probably take it easy exercise-wise for a few days or so to let the swelling and bruising heal. Hopefully this does not derail this week's weigh-in, Who cares about the weigh-in - I hope it didn't undo the surgery you had done! Is everything okay on that front since the fall? Guest guest
Who cares about the weigh-in - I hope it didn't undo the surgery you had done! Is everything okay on that front since the fall? Seemingly just bruised. Not even really swollen. No worries. Freaked me out though. Oh and only in Snowkane: Tuesday it was what, minus 15 range.... today it's like 30 out there, so a 45 degree difference in the temperature! Gahhhhhhh! I "told" Jay next Thanksgiving I want to be in Hawaii and can he make it happen LOL!! I don't suspect oldest DS will be around, he is convinced he'll be gone for college and it's the other boys' year to be with their father, so weather permitting, I almost could take the week off and leave town. Still not sure yet if I will be able to get out of here this next week for my visit down to CA. Sigh. If the weather holds steady, I could probably do it, but if it keeps up these crazy mood swings I can't go with good feelings leaving mother and kids, ya know?
