Day of Injections/Flu shot

Hello!

I am new to the board and have been receiving Xolair shots for 6

months. It has made an incredible difference in my life. I went

from taking 'evil candy' and 4 breathing treatments (with 3

medications) per day to one tablet of Singulair in the evening.

My question is...

Does anyone feel tired immediately after the shot? I swear it's

like a muscle relaxer. I can feel it happening and within minutes,

I am extremely sleepy. After each appt., I go home and go right to

sleep for 2-3 hours at a minimum and I have no problem sleeping that

evening. By the next day, I am fine. So far, I have had to take

the day off work so that I can go home and sleep. Other than that, I

have not had any negative side effects.

On a separate note, I wanted to add that I received my flu shot on

the same day as my last appt. without any problems. Check with your

doctor. Mine said that it wasn't a problem to recieve it on the

same day as long as I did not have a problem (with the flu shot) in

the past and do not have a cold/flu brewing.

Congratulations on your improvement! Yay Xolair! :)

I also get very fatigued and sleepy after my shots, but this doesn't

seem to happen for most people. After my first shot, I went home and

slept for hours. I was absolutely exhausted. Now I get less fatigued,

but I'm still pretty tired for most of the evening after I get a

Xolair shot. Like you, I'm usually fine by the next day though.

I'm so glad to hear that you've had such great results! I'm sure that

makes the half day of fatigue and tiredness worth it!
