Xolair is NOT an NSAID. It is a monoclonal antibody to IgE. Technically it is

made from recombinant human and chinese hamster DNA. It is a very specific

molecule which is why its side effect profile is so small.

I read tht it works like singulair and I can't take that either. Makes my

breathing worse.

Xolair is an IgE inhibitor. It actually keeps the IgE in your body from working

as well. IgE is a protein in your blood that stimulates your body to have

allergic reactions. The higher the IgE levels the more severe your allergic

reactions will be. Xolair works on allergic asthma, not asthma triggered by

other things like infections or stress. I think about the only thing it has in

common with non-steroidals is that it isn't a steroid.
