i just thought i'd pass this along. i know some of us experience highs/lows with

our allergy symptoms -- having more symptoms right before our next xolair dose.

my dr asked the xolair rep today about it, since she's seen a definate pattern

with my symptoms over the past few months (my allergies, eczema and asthma all

get a little worse just before the xolair, as the previous dose wears off).

the rep said she's heard of it happening in other patients (duh), but right now,

xolair isn't sure what to do with the information. they're apparently testing

higher doses, but who knows what that means for us.

sidenote --- anyone here with eczema?? have you tried mimyx cream??

apparently, its shown helpful when combined with ellidel and eucerin or

something like that. i tried it by itself and wasn't impressed (especially since

i'd have a $50 copay for 140 gram tube). the dr gave me more samples and wants

me to try it with the ellidel and eucerin. just wondering if anyone else tried

it and what you thought of it.

If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere.

>It makes you wonder if the dosages should either be more frequent or

based on body fat per centages in addition to the total body weight.

I also wonder if we need it every 10 days in the beginning to suck up

all of the circulating ige? Also, my dose is 225 every 2 weeks. Since

it is packaged in 150 and 300 vials, that means 75mg are going to

waste every 2 weeks. Leigh

,

This is exactly the reason my doc added the 75mg booster 1/2 way through the

month. My 150 would only last 2 weeks. I couldn't come anywhere near 1 month

being symptom free. Then during the 2nd month Xolair was completely

ineffective. The 3rd month I'd get another good 2 weeks and that pattern would

continue. Once the 75 was added it's been smooth sailing. I have a feeling the

standardized dose won't work for everyone, which isn't surprising. Everyone

responds differently to different meds.
