Guest guest Report post Posted October 12, 2005 Um Ali? Are you American??? or what? Yep I'm in Kuwait, and I guess I AM your neighbor! (I'm Um Saud)... I'm using a low fat one, can't remember the name, but any one will do, and if you are familiar with the Atkins diet, you will not worry about fat or anything, and you will be able to lose weight like gangbuusters with the band. Here in Kuwait all the doctors recommend Atkins for bandsters, cuz the weight loss is amazing, but I'm still on post op, which means I can drink just about anything that is thin enough to go down well. I was drinking the KDD juices, but they give me too much of a sugar rush, even though they aren't sweetened, and I find that drinking those thicker, more icy juices from the juice places are better for me. As for Lebanese foods, I can't eat any of those things you mentioned, except the eggplant dip, but its too thick right now for me, and the others are high carbohydrate, so I don't eat them. (I have a carbohydrate metabolism problem, plus it will stall your loss). But, I do eat " labnah " , you know? It's really smooth and creamy, and it is well tolerated. So far so good with the weight loss... it's been 9 days now, and I've lost 8 kilos (17.5 pounds)!!! Mia --- Um Ali Qatar <umaliqatar@...> wrote: > Mia, > > You're in Kuwait? Guest guest Report post Posted October 17, 2006 I am sorry I just have not been online much. I had a very bad reaction to xolair and have had a hard time getting my astham under control. I even let them try again to be sure it was the xolair and it was. SO now I guess I am stuck on the evil candy until another new wonder drug that I am not allergic to comes out. Karin *Moderators remark: It is our understanding that xolair rarely ever causes side effects, especially the kind Karin is experiening. Guest guest Report post Posted February 14, 2012 You are in my prayers and thoughts today . I've been married to my husband for 30 years and I can't imagine the pain you are feeling, especially since it happened so suddenly, you didn't have any time to prepare yourself. We are all beside you in spirit and I hope you feel the love emanating from everyone that is close to you, even when they don't know what to say. ---------------------Rene Oswald, RN, APHBest Beginnings, Inc.
