Guest guest
Hi , No I don't really know what caused it to slip. I have a theory though but I'm not sure if it's right. I had a really bad cough for a few weeks and would cough so hard that my dinner would come up. I had this cough only at night and stupidly did not go to the doctor soon enough to get it fixed. I also threw up a few times just from overeating or being too tight but not alot so I didn't worry about that because it was very infrequent. So anyway I'm not sure if it was the cough or the throwing up but my guess is the cough. I did have another surgery on 5-14-06 to fix the band and now things are going good. I am also on the clear liquids right now so I know it is hard but I absolutely will stick to it. I was not as good the first time around but I can't go through this again so I'm very determined this time. Anyway good luck to you and the post op diet will end soon (YEA!!)) Sheri Wilkins -------------- Original message -------------- From: lisatmoore@... Sheri, , and Jeni, Thanks for the wakeup call!!! I guess I have been being pretty stupid and am really feeling guilty about it. I am 11th day post op now. Would it make any sense to go back to clear liquids for a while? If so - how long? Sheri - do you have any idea as to what caused your band to slip? Did you need another surgery? Your right I really don't want to have to go through that - so I guess I better shape up!! I hope I'm not too late.
Guest guest
WOW, Debbie! That's fantastic on all parts: water, exercise, giving up sodas, passing on the mashed tatos and gravy... can't wait to see your progress. Your daughter is doing great too!! Guest guest
Hi Debby! Wow! Good job cutting out the soda, drinking more water and cutting out mashed potatoes--fantastic! You've made a lot of healthy changes, now comes the hard part--sticking to it. Well, that's the hard part for me, anyhow. Some days it's really easy, other days anything but. Just hang in there and you'll see the scale move in no time! How great that you and your daughter are able to work together on this and (hopefully) be supportive of one another! She's doing fantastic as well--give her a big 'congrats!' from me -Bonnie

It took me right at 20 pounds to fit decently into a smaller size. And like you said the energy you gain losing is out standing. I can do stuff now I didn't thnk I'd ever do again. I hope you are getting the same experiences. > I have to tell you I had a mountain dew last night first > one since june 6th and you know what it tasted lousy didnt finish it > all so i guess im off the soda habit which is good. I have done that with a lot of foods. Especially with hot dogs. After not eating a lot of foods for awhile and go back and try one...they taste like crap. Luncheon meats now seem like someone poured a ton of salt on it. I feel thats a good sign. I think your body is adjusting to you cleaning it out:)
Guest guest
Boars Head makes some nitrate-free luncheon meats which should probably taste a LOT less salty. You might ask for a sample next time you're at the deli. I suspect they don't keep as long in the fridge though! SulaBlue > I have done that with a lot of foods. Especially with hot dogs. I usually don't eat a whole lot of luncheon meat but when we do get them we will have sandwiches for 4 or 5 meals in a roll. I have almost given up hotdogs though as they seem the worse on salt. And I have never been much of a sweets person. Most cakes and cookies have always seem to have way to much sugar for me. There are a few exceptions. But I really don't like the taste of a lot of foods since I have cut back on them. I find I like most stuff in the natural form now. I still have to have my black Pepper though. You can take away my salt, sugar ,sweets and most other things but you don't touch my black pepper and red pepper!
Guest guest
Boars Head can usually be found at Kroger, not sure where else. Have you tried the Hebrew National Hot Dogs? I find them to be much tastier that the regular ones and less salty. -Heidi On 6/28/06, <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: > >> Boars Head makes some nitrate-free luncheon meats which should probably > taste a LOT> less salty. Guest guest
Really? We have a kroger as close as our walmart is but I seldom shop there. No I have never tried them. Just to be honest usually I pick up whatever the cheapest ones are in the store unless I can find the pro league hot dogs on sale. Boars Head can usually be found at Kroger, not sure where else. Guest guest
OOH..definately try the Hebrew Nationals..they are SOOO yummy. Before I had those I didn't really like hot dogs at all. I rarely shop at Wal-Mart anymore. My husband and I call it the 3rd world grocery store. Once you get to the small towns around the Dallas Metro Wal-Mart is fine...but in town they are ridiculously overcrowded, rude shoppers and workers and generally they are so nasty dirty I can't stand shop in there anymore. I miss small town Wal-Marts a lot! I typically shop at my local Kroger, and I am a Target addict..lol. _heidi On 6/28/06, <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: Really? Guest guest
Heidi, I've looked for those hot dogs a dozen times--where do you find them? Guest guest
As I said sometime earlier today, I usually shop at Kroger and they are typically right next to the regular hot dogs. The packaging is red with a banner of bright blue and then Hebrew National in yellow. I can't remember how many come in a package, but I " think " it is 6..but don't quote me on that..lol http://www.hebrewnational.com/index.jsp The link above might tell you where you can find them in your area. -Heidi On 6/28/06, brgk44 <brgk44@...> wrote: Heidi, I've looked for those hot dogs a dozen times--where do you findthem? Guest guest
> I have done that with a lot of foods. Especially with hot dogs. Oh, I doubt I would *ever* lose my taste for hot dogs! My grandmother told me that was the first solid food I ever ate (cut up in tiny pieces, of course) and was always my favorite, all through my childhood. Even as an adult I have to use all my willpower to avoid eating them, especially when away from home unexpectedly at lunchtime and *hungry*! Where I live, hot dog vendors are even more prevalent than fast food hamburger joints, especially in summer. And the longer that sat in greasy water, the tastier they are. Guest guest
> Have you tried the Hebrew National Hot Dogs? I find them to be much tastier > that the regular ones and less salty. They're between 350 and 400 mg sodium per frank, depending on which type you choose (lower fat seems to be higher salt). Mayer, on the other hand, runs from 650 mg and up. Chicken and turkey franks of various brands run from 500 mg and up, and our family's favorite, Sabrett's Natural Casing, is around 400 mg. We always had a open package of hotdogs in our refrigerator. I'm kinda surprised that they taste so salty to me now. When I get them now I usually use them to make something such as beanie wienies, pigs in a blanket, chili dogs. I very seldom eat them by themselves anymore. However we like the pro league hot dogs. I'm not sure but I think they are Myer. Those big ole franks that comes in the red wraps don't taste as salty neither but to be honest I don't care for them because they are so big. I like the small round ones better even with the saltier taste.

Guest guest
Thanks so much for the report! It's great you seem to be doing so well. I'll post to files. The viral load vs the cd4, we should do some research to find out how fast cd4's are replaced so know what to expect. If cd4 is lower, which could happen you could see a rebound later as infected cells are replaced with healthy ones...we just don't know the exact range of timing to guage that process. Meanwhile, if I were you, and I am not, the paddles on the gut once in awhile like every day or two might be wise to ensure your main area of HIV infection does not grow back over the 4 weeks to confuse the test results. up to you, but if you don't like the numbers, then it might be something to try the next time to see if that affects anything. To speed up cd4 cell production, the thymus is important, the t-cells are " thymus " cells, they are shaped up in the thymus before they are released to the body. so you might try paddles on the thymus if you are interested in seeing if cd4's come back faster that way. if HIV is in the thymus it could screw up everything, so I'm thinking the thymus should be part of the protocol. i'll post to files, and, pat, many thanks for the report, best, bG > > Hello everybody.
