Sorry about that last post... I don't know what happened. LOL!!

I just wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss. I am excited to see

your stats. That gives me faith that I will get there one day. Thanks for

sharing. Did you hit any plateaus on your way down? You seemed to have lost

your weight so fast. I was just curious. I have been losing my weight fast

too ... but I haven't lost any for almost 3 weeks. I have been playing with

the same 3 or 4 pounds. No big deal... I am not upset... I know it will come

off. I just tend to be somewhat impatient. I am still very happy with my

weight loss. I am excited just shopping for clothes. Plus, I feel better than

ever. I don't even feel as though I had surgery at this point.

Congratulations again, Donna... I can't wait to be where you are.

Wow! And I thought I had a zoo! I've only got 15 daycare kids, two kittens (Big Tom and Fat Louie, 10wks) and one dog, Libby (10yrs, black lab). We finally lost Maggie (14yrs, springer/blue tick hound mix). She couldn't hear, had cataracts in both eyes and arthritis. Her liver and bladder finally gave up on her, poor old dear. But we had her for at least four years longer than we thought we were going to. Supplements help dogs, too!

I think it's very cool that you help those animals, Kim. :)

Donna, We have 5 wolfdogs (were rescues), 1 Dingo (rescue), 1 Bloodhound(rescue), 1 Blue Heeler, 1 Serval(rescue), 1 Sphynx(kind of a rescue), 3 turtles(2 rescues), 1 leopard gecko, 2 tiger salamanders, 2 mudpuppys, 1 catfish, 2 other strange fish, 2 parrots. Right now for adoption 8 finches(rescue) and 4 ferrets (rescue). I found a home for a cockateil today and one 2 days ago..oh and placed 2 guinea pigs yesterday but they never came here :)) I was thinking about going nonprofit when I got Grave's..then I didn't have the energy too but kept bringing in animals.. you can imagine my credit cards :)) I haven't had the energy to care for all of them..thank God for Yancey :))

Sorry about your dog :(( I know the feeling. We lost Akiiki (a Sphynx) and Kiwanna (an iguana) last year, not to mention Mama (my Grandmother)..Those are two animals that literally had a part of my soul. Last year was really really bad! If anyone ever needs an animal just holler :)) My Grandmother wondered if all the exotic animals perhaps had something that caused the Grave's. It literally came on after I started with the exotics. Prior to that I rehabbed and hacked bird of prey...

Going to try to go to bed.. Kim (and should I say jungle :)) )

Gare, and group,

I took the initiative, and will be getting all of my records from this gi doc, within the week. Maybe, I didn't want to hear the results, secretley, but in reading all of your helpful mail, I know, that I need to know what the results of the biopsy, and so on. I continue to keep my appt. in Jan., but am thinking about a lawsuit, due to delay of treatment, based on the physicians' assistants, decision. After all, we are talking life and death here. As he so callously put it, "You'll just have to think about being put on the liver transplant list". Well I say, I'm not giving up on me. Teena....yes I do have JRA and linear scleroderma. I am a 33 year vet to this stuff but this new dx came as a big surprise. I guess it never really ever goes away...I initially began by feeling tired and weak. Normally I am quite active and all of a sudden I had no energy and muscle aches. I was pale and suffering headaches and noticed urine was dark. After some routine bloodwork it was discovered my Red count was extremely low and white count extremely high, with a very high SED rate. All of this is very rare for me so docs admitted to hospital and DX ws given......(ideopathoc autoimmune hemolytic anemia is a disorder resulting from an abnormality of the immune system that destroys red blood cells prematurely. The cause is unknown.

Idiopathic autoimmune hemolytic anemia is an acquired disease that occurs when antibodies form against the person's own red blood cells. In the idiopathic form of this disease, the cause is unknown. Idiopathic autoimmune hemolytic anemia accounts for one-half of all immune hemolytic anemias. The onset of the disease may be quite rapid and very serious. Risk factors are not known.) My routine will now consists of much rest and the hi doses of pred with doc visits galore. I am hopeful of a good recovery and know my crazy self will return soon. Thanks again for all the kind thoughts. I hope all are well and enjoying their summers!

As for myself I am much better these days and once again thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers as I have battled through AHA. I now go to the docs once and month and lab tests have been stable with hemoglobin staying between 13-15 and all other results are good as well. Thanks again and god bless...donna

WOW! I was so moved by some actions of many of the children. There was a

this afternoon it was off to an assisted living residential facility to

Hi Donna,

I recall one of the first positive things to come out of s JRA.That was

him going to special ed preschool 2x week for 4 hours. Those children are

AMAZING and so full of life. When got his good bye morning kiss there were

always 15 more waiting in line for theirs, lol.

I'm glad you had fun and hope you don't have to pay to hard.

I'm a terrible public speaker but at our Arthritis walk team captain kickoff

I was the first speaker and the whole room was in tears and floored that kids

get arthritis too!As scared as I was it is something I will be proud about

forever.I am so happy I got involved with the foundation this year,it's been

very

rewarding.

Hey - I most definitely agree with you! The surgery didn't make me want to run

to the gym and it sure is tough to stick to a schedule of exercise - why is it

we always put ourselves last??!! I'm REALLY going to try to get to the gym at

least 4-5 times per week, even if I have to go at 8:00 p.m. when my kids'

activities, dinner, baths, dog walking, etc. are done! It's either that or

start getting up again at 4:30 a.m. to go to the gym!

I'll get some whey protein and the other supplements as well and let's see where

we go!

Keep in touch,

e:

Girl I can always use a buddy. She just said for me to add a scoop of whey

protein 2 times a day and also to add creatine and l glutamine. I will check

manual for those amounts. I will head to Walmart or the health store tomorrow.

I also see that today went by with me not exercising. My husband had to

travel 400 miles today and wanted me to ride with him for company. (For an

appraisal) I am going to have to schedule an appointment for myself to

exercise

and then keep it. Discipline has never been my strong suit and the Mgb

surgery did not miraculously change that either. (just joking. Man everyone is

so

serious on this site these days)......

Donna,

Along with all of the other things I am trying, I also am taking milk of

magnesia about once every 10 days to 2 weeks. It doesn't have the same

effect on me now as it did pre-op. Thank you for the thought. I am open to

most anything.

Hi Donna,

Well today my right drain tube came out with the skin still attached to the

sutures - kinda freaked me out. Called the Dr. office and they say shove it

back in and tape it down and stay on my back the rest of the weekend.

I am not looking forward to driving to KC on Monday for my check up - won't

be able to take any pain meds as they make me sleepy. Will be glad to get

to my Moms Monday night to rest.

Plan to start back to work full time on Thursday. I am pretty tough I

guess.

Thanks for your encouragement!

Hey Patty!

Matt went today to get measured for his brace and he is not looking forward

to it. He has to wear it 6 weeks for 23 hours a day! The meds have not kicked

in yet but hopefully they will soon. He has asked me if Caitlin wants to

email or IM him. I told him that will be up to you but he is willing so let us

know.

has been on medication for asthma for 9 years with various changes.

Currently he is on Singulair, Advair and Albuterol as well as Prevacid for his

tummy.....

We literally have a pharmacy here in my home.

LOL.

Hi Donna:

I can imagine Matt's not looking forward to that brace! A friend of

Alyssa's (in VA) wears a brace for her scoliosis (sp?) and loves when she gets

to

take it off for showers and swimming. I just hope it makes Matt more

comfortable and heals his fracture.

Does have allergies as well as the asthma? I here you on that

pharmacy statement. Speaking of which, I need to go through the meds and trash

the old and no longer used ones.

Matt is so sweet to ask about the emailing and/or IMing (is that even a word

LOL, maybe one of those newfangle (hhhhhmmm is that a word LOL?) computer

terms) to Caitlin. I will definitely ask her. If so, shall I send her email

address to you or Matt?

Take care and enjoy this great day. I have to say I am enjoying watching

all the flowers, plants and trees sprout and bloom in my new house and trying

to figure out what they are or waiting to see when they bloom:) This woman

loves flowers. My kind of lady! If only she had replaced the 70's green

carpet LOL. Guess I'll have to do that one:)

Thanks Helen, I have learned in life that if it is not one thing it is

something else so take it all in stride. If it ain't me, it's one of the kids.

Sometimes, I wonder what my pharmacy must think....lol. My planner is full of

docs visits and sometimes I get confused who goes where and what day. YIKES! I

am hoping to have all healthy for the boys birthdays (May 5) so we can go out

of town. Thinking about taking them to Cedar Point in Ohio. Anyone been

there???

-Donna,

I was sorry to read of Matt's struggles. You have had it so rough in

your family of late. You much have a season pass to the doctors

office (small attempt at humor)

Seriously, I hope Matt responds well to the brace and it helps him

out. How long will be have to wear it??
