Guest guest
WOW -- that's some story, doug!! that's awesome that she remembered you after all that time!!! i ended up making my RN a " retirement survival kit " . i picked up a wooden box at the craft store and covered it with tissue paper and covered it with the glossy Mod Podge (Decoupage) . i have to say, i'm pretty proud of myself. i picked up a really pretty heart necklace at kohls (i love that place - got the necklace for 75% off), and then tossed the other stuff on the surivial kit list that i made (found bits/pieces of the list online) here's the pics of what i did. http://pg.photos./ph/heather351/album?.dir=6c2bre2 & .src=ph & store= & prodi\ d= & .done=http%3a//pg.photos./ph/heather351/my_photos thanks for the input!! heather uca79iii <uca79iii@...> wrote: When I was 5 years old, I started allergy shots. I told her that I wanted to marry her when I grew up. (Laugh) When she got engaged and married, I was very upset and cried for several days. I didn't even want her to give me my shots anymore. After 46 years I came back to that clinic for my first Xolair Shots and guess who was there? Yep, Miss Debbie, but a great grandmother who was retiring in a month. She had quit nursing 10 years earier and worked in the business office. She heard my name called from the front desk, remember it and came out to greet me. Both of us were shocked to see how much we both had changed through the years. I had changed from a hyperactive 40 pound boy to a 210 pound gray headed man. I am now down to 180 pounds but still have the gray hair. HA! I must say, it was wonderful seeing her again. Guest guest
That is so cool (I'm old I can say that!). I'll bet she remembers this always, it puts a lump in my throat. I am reminded by this that there are nice people in this world, both receivers and givers. I need to remember that!
