Doug,

I'm glad to hear your neck surgery went well. I have a herniated disk between

C5/C6. I've gone through 2 rounds of epidurals and they work great. I have to

see the Ortho next week for a 6-month check up. I have a feeling he's going to

suggest a cervical, mid-year booster. It sure beats surgery but I have a

feeling I'll need surgery eventually. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed

I'll never have to have it done but I've heard they have come a long way with

that surgery.

I had my 2nd epidural of evil DepoMedrol into the ruptured disk in

my neck today. The last shot 2 weeks ago didnt help a bit. I will

see the neurosurgeon next week and talk about disk fusion again. I had

3 fused in 2000 so what is one more? LOL :)

The procedure is not really that bad. They only negative thing is that

I will have to wear a soft collar and not be able to speak or sing for 2-3

months afterwards. Also, there is a 10-15% chance I could loose my

singing voice permanently; however, it did not happen last time and it

shouldn't happen this time! :)

The Evil DepoMedrol shot didn't give me any negative side effects. My

blood sugar stayed NORMAL and I did not get that steroid depression or

hyperactivity that the Pred Evil Candy gives.

Happy breathing,

Doug

Thanks :) After the shot yesterday, I woke up this morning in more

pain and I can't move my fingers well in the right hand. I am typing

right now as best I can with my left hand. I will see the neurosurgeon

Tuesday. Looks like Physical Therapy and Epidurals don't work for me.

As I have posted before, I have already had cervical disk fusion and have a lot

of scar tissue and arthritis from it. Oh well, what's one more neck surgery.

THANK GOD I have good insurance :)

One good thing....... at least my asthma is NOT bothering me thanks to

Xolair :)
