I actually live in Georgia, about a mile from the state line! The hospital in

ville is about a 35 minute drive for me in good traffic, and Tampa is

about 2-2 1/2 hr drive.

I'm not sure how many Jax has...I just picked the hospital as it is a supporter

of my DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) and made an appt with the head

neuro there. Quite a bad attitude, but he knows his stuff.

graft?

No...just that I have to wear a brace any time I am not sleeping for 3 months

afterwards. Maybe to help " remind " me not to overdo it and added support to the

fusion area while healing??

All he said about the bone graft is that it would come out of my hip.

Yes...almost like " whew " ...but now the butterflys set in OMG...they are going to

be cutting on me in about 2 weeks! Lots of " what if's " .

But I am trying to think positively...that I will be in the 50% group that this

surgery works for and I will get my life back!

Also the same positive thought for , who is having the same surgery on

Monday!

Thanks ...I am doing okay...just the reality that it is actually happening

can be overwhelming sometimes. I started getting things together about 5 weeks

before I had the date...from the time the doc said " let's do it " .

I think I want a new (and comfortable) outfit to come home in...maybe the

terrycloth shorts or sweatsuits that are at Wal-mart? They are so cute but would

probably look ridiculous on my size 18 fat rearend, then add a back brace under

it. But fun to go see!

I think I am going shopping!!
