Guest guest
just an update on the xolair/caremark fiasco... the weird caremark guy called my dr, requesting info. the RN there refused to give him any info (citing HIPPA) and then called me at work. i explained what happened and now the dr's office is equally confused. my dr told me to just wait it out. i have 2 months of xolair left in their fridge, so she says wait a month and then we'll deal with it. she's hoping whatever the issue is will resolve itself. my dr spoke with one of the xolair reps, and he too was confused about the story the caremark man had given me. the odd thing is, the caremark guy said he'd call me back after he talked to the dr's office -- and he never did. that makes me wonder if he was wrong about this whole thing... heather heather <heaven1975@...> wrote: so, i get the friendly message on my answering machine on saturday " kdjafkldsjafjkdas;lkdjffkljasdlfkfjasd;lfjdsafj please call asdkfjl;kasdjljksadlfkjasdl " . great. i have NO CLUE what the message said or the number i'm supposed to call back, but the caller ID said " CAREMARK " so i know its the specialty pharmacy for my xolair. i end up online looking for their number and called it. the rep on the phone told me i'm not registered with them. WHAT??? i was holding an EOB from my insurance stating my BCBS sent CAREMARK a $9000 check in jan for my meds -- how am i not registered? i've been getting my xolair through them for over a year! the guy on the phone tells me that due to he medicaid changes blah blah blah, we have to be registered (i'm sure i missed something there). the way he made it sound was that i was going to have to go through the registration/approval process again - AHHHHHHHHHHH! the rep claims he'll call my dr (b/c i don't know how much xolair they have on hand for me) tomorrow and then call me. once my case gets to the approval board ( or something like that) and gets approved, they can determine any changes in copay (AHHH -- right now i pay NONE) and ship it out. this makes no sense, since caremark is just the vendor my BCBS deals with. anyone else's vendor change policies like this? the idea of any changes to my xolair makes me nervous!!!! this weekend, i was outside doing yardwork and such, without too many issues -- before xolair, a weekend like that would have knocked me out for the entire week!!! heather There is work that is work and there is play that is play; there is play that is work and work that is play. Guest guest
I had caremark for about a year and a half. I was never very impressed. (Pat - I hope you don't work for them. Bet you don't, since you seem to have a lot of contact with your patients and I had to jump through hoops to get anyone to talk to me.) Caremark guy hopefully talked to his supervisor and found out he was wrong. In the very beginning, I did have trouble with hoops and had to give my dr's office permission to violate HIPPA in order to talk to the Xolair sales rep and make some stuff happen. Since then, I haven't had a lot of problems, knock on wood. Accredo Novafactor calls me once a month to coordinate my shipment and ask me how I'm doing. I LOVE THEM. They even have an on call pharmacist on the weekends if you have an emergency. THAT'S customer service.... Addy PS - had to give in to evil candy yesterday - sinus issues. > > so, i get the friendly message on my answering machine on saturday " kdjafkldsjafjkdas;lkdjffkljasdlfkfjasd;lfjdsafj please call asdkfjl;kasdjljksadlfkjasdl " . great. i have NO CLUE what the message said or the number i'm supposed to call back, but the caller ID said " CAREMARK " so i know its the specialty pharmacy for my xolair. > > i end up online looking for their number and called it. the rep on the phone told me i'm not registered with them.
