Guest guest Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Hi Addy I too, wake up numerous times a night...sometimes up to 10 times. Luckily I am able to USUALLY go back to sleep without eating! Usually just a quick trip to the bathroom! Unfortuneately I've had a setback...have an ashtma flare and bronchitis. I am on a 5-10 day burst of 50mg pred and also taking azithromycin for bronchitis. This might be a silly question, but can I still have my scheduled XOLAIR shot on Monday while having a flare? I'm assuming it's OK to be on the pred and get XOLAIR as most people taking it are pred dependent. bye for now Pamela....who will get to meet when I go on a trip to Montreal on the March Break with my family!!! __________________________________________________ Quote

I was on prednisone in October, while in the hospital and being on 100mg of pred., and my doctor said that if i wouldn't have got it, then i would be worse off. Secondly, call the doc's office and make sure they're ok with you getting your dose on time; they probably will be, especially if you don't have a fever or anything like that. Guest guest Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Pamela, There is no contraindication to XOlair when you have bronchitis. Bit, some doctors won't give it to you if you have a fever. I understand this is because your body is already working hard to fight off something and Xolair makes our bodies work harder too, binding the IgE and excreting the allergens.
